I think I"m going to start downvoting all video torrents under 500MB.

Discuss.
Why bother? Phone porn is weird and not worthwhile.

First of all, your pathetic ratio puts you in no position to complain about anything.
Second, the size of the file means absolutely dick. Know how many awful quality 4.7GB DVDR files there are out there? Know how many 2GB VHS rips there are because the person who did the capture didn't know their ass from the grand canyon when it came to the encoding settings?
The file size is determined by the resolution, length, bitrate, and most importantly compression, among other things. Todays compression schemes result in high quality, high bitrate videos in small files. A 20 minute 720p video can very easily be under 300MB.

I think I'm going to downvote all the people who can think of nothing but moaning because they don't happen to like the format (now size) of stuff that is provided free by people willing to work to share their stuff.
Now, if you don't like movies under 500MB, pass on. There are thousands of others to choose from. I have some rare vintage stuff from here that wouldn't have passed this ridiculous size test. And I thank all those posters for giving me the chance to grab them.
PS I agree with taboi, 100%
PPS You would have thought someone who has grabbed over 600GB from the site would have chosen a more positive subject for his first topic in the forum

I have grab large sizes and small sizes of videos and 99% of the time when they play there is no difference is video quality that is noticeable.
This also brings up another question. Should the vote button be made available to anybody that hasn't downloaded the complete torrent?

Certainly not. I didn't realize that was even possible (I've never had any reason to rate a torrent without seeing it first, naturally).
I'm a bit surprised if that's the case, because letting anyone vote on torrents whether they've snatched them or not seems to welcome abuse of exactly this sort. I can imagine there are people who would downvote torrents without snatching for a number of petty or manipulative reasons.

No, I can confirm from first-hand experience that users cannot vote for a torrent before t hey download the entire torrent. There have been times when I've downloaded only a few files from a large torrent and, after doing so, am still not offered the opportunity to vote anything on that torrent, not even category.

In response to SemenDemon and alligator…
One is able to "rate" a torrent 1-5 WITHOUT having downloaded it.
It may not be right, but the fact is that the system will accept the rating, regardless.
