@raphjd I watched the first season of this, and it was pleasant enough. But the main theme of the series was the coming out of the young couple, and since that's been largely accomplished, I don't know what another two seasons would offer.
After watching the programme, I did a bit of web-searching to get some back story, and saw in one article (I don't remember where) that the director followed a strict policy of casting people in line with the character's orientation: A gay character would only be played by a gay actor, while a bi character would only be played by a bi actor. Supposedly this was to give more authenticity to the performance, although there's a long--and successful--history of straight characters played by gay actors, and vice versa. That's why it's called "acting."
I will be curious to see the next two seasons, and I look forward to their release.

I haven't seen the series yet, but everyone I've talked to about it loves it.

@raphjd I think it's one of those series that I would have liked to have in my teens. Of course, Netflix has also fallen into gay "cliches" created by heterosexuals, that's why in "Elite" Patrick's character only spends his time showing his buttocks and getting angry every time a guy doesn't take him seriously, when his cover letter is sex and steal couples. In sex education he also did it with the bully who later becomes a partner of the boy he was bothering and even so their relationship is very toxic. Heartstopper is a great respite from all the mishandling of LGBT+ characters in teen shows, so I quite like it. I suppose that in the second season coming out of the closet and other relationships will be addressed, we may even see the change or decline of some secondary character, like Ben, who hates the relationship of the protagonists because he wants to have the same, but he doesn't take risks to the other boys making fun of him for being gay. Hopefully they are worth it, because the concept and the aesthetics were very good.

The thing that I liked about Heartstoppers is that the main characters homosexuality and bisexuality are not defined by acts of sex. The two boys aren't portrayed as wanting to fuck each other...I mean, they're 14-15 years old. They just want to kiss and be with each other. So often, homosexual love is solely and exclusively portrayed as sex acts, as opposed to relationships between individuals.

I found it touched me deeply. Mostly because of the joy the main characters experienced when they found their attraction returned. Not something I ever experienced in my youth!

This one was a keeper for me... While I didn't like the 30-minute episode format, i really liked the story - and I think there's plenty of room for more exploration - like Tao (a straight? friend of lead character Charlie's) budding attraction to trans friend Elle...
Like the above poster, I also watched this series with a teary eye - because my own childhood awakening was NOTHING AT ALL like this! I was bullied, attacked - physically and verbally - and ostracized because I was "different" in High School, and even still in College! It wasn't until my first career job that I ever met anyone else "normal" like me! LOL
I've downloaded and kept a version of this - for one, I have a 16 y/o who is struggling with his sexual identity.
And I very much look forward to new seasons!

Loved this series. It was refreshing to see a series with characters that appear to be regular young people.
In most recent series about teens and young adults, almost every character is suffering from problems such as addiction, family issues, mental disorders, etc. Although it is important to raise awareness about these issues, this is not the experience of teen growing up.
