Freeleech for one's own uploads

There should be a way to set one's OWN uploads to FREELEECH as soon as they are uploaded.

I believe you have to wait a week before you (or anyone else) can freeleech a torrent...

That's from observation - there is likely a timer of some kind, but I am guessing as to exactly how long it is... but for some of my own uploads, I have freeleeched them after about a week...

@lololulu19 You cannot freeleech a recently uploaded torrent to prevent bottlenecking the upload speed for the original seeder and the first leechers. Freeleeching creates a demand that could end up killing the torrent because no one can download it or just give up because of the absurdly low speeds.

Then I guess the value of RATIO is no point @ all ...

@john32123666 Brief and off-topic -- I like the eye, which could be giving someone the side-eye, or perhaps getting ready to roll that eye, lol.

@john32123666 when I used to be able to upload, I didn't do it to improve my ratio. My ratio is so high already that I don't need a higher ratio. I actually like to help people and make them happy... People think I am weird because I like to help them.

You have no idea how much you have almost hit the truth on the reason why the freeleech was set on the 7th day from the time of uploading.

Before you can freeleech any torrent even under 7 days upload, but most members do the hit and run download and not for the purpose of fixing their ratio.

@kalayaan of course if all files were freeleech, that would destroy the concept of seeding.. but..
I think the UPLOADER should be able to set their own upload to freeleech within 24 hours if nobody is downloading it. If people were downloading it, there would be no reason to set it to freeleech.

That is why the owner set it, that a torrent can be freeleech on the 7th day of upload.

Mods and owner have discussed this back in 2013.
