Re: Can i lose weight with diet alone?

Diet don't work, you always gain back more then you lost by starving your body.
There is noagic receipe: you need to eat balanced and eat less calories than you spent!

Dont try these magic diet "lose 10 kg in 3 months without efforts"

I would encoourage you to see a nutrstionist. She will explain things and most important READ AND UNDERSTAND the label of the food you are buying.
Then you can eat nearly anything (yes Ice creams) but in reasonable quantities.

I fyou are in USA, look how sweet and fat the food is

Americans like their foods in EXTREMES!

        • it can't just be sweet, it has to be mouth-puckeringly sweet!
        • it can't just be "hot", it has to be "scalp-sweatingly" hot!
          and so on...

we're insane, and our waistlines are the proof!

My sweet tooth is nothing like when I was a kid.

I think the biggest problem isn't sugar, but processed foods.

YES loosing weight is 80% DIET. You cannot outsport dieting.
However, you need to change your lifestyle with it, you need to find suitable diet which you will follow to the end of your life and not come back to your old habits. It's easy to go on Keto and loose plenty of weight in no time, but its difficult to be in keto for a long time as its so restrictive. If i see friends on diet "having a treat" eating pizza after achieving a diet goal - I know they will fail.
I have lost 24 kg (52 pounds) during pandemic just dieting, but i dont eat pre pandemic food anymore.
What I suggest from my experience - low carb, low fat high protein diet (means no pizza no bread, no chips'fries no rice (incl brown)) plenty of protein from meat eggs whatever. No MILK, Cheese etc. Then after 2-3 weeks when you see you have no cravings and you already eat less (throw away any food from plate left when you are full) set yourself few times a week an 8 hrs window when you eat and fast 16 hours (include your sleep) so 10am-6pm eat as much as you want, then dont eat. forget about snacking FOREVER even after your diet.
Be consequent, no compromises, no cheats.
I have reversed diabetes, I have got rid of gout. I have started (at the end of dieting) sport activities on a decent level (indoor rowing). But DIET IS CRUCIAL.
Read dr. Michael Mosley Sugar Diet, Read Tim Ferris 4 hours Body (his diet is similiar to mine - strangely i didnt read that then), watch videos about Intermittent Fasting concept and erase from your head snacking concept.

Biggest problem is all carbohydrates (sugars) which we eat not realising that this is sugar (bread, pasta, rice etc) plus mixing high sugar and high fat.
You have slim people on high sugar diet eating low fat (Japan, Korea , China)
You have slim people on High fat low sugar diet - Eskimo
You have people eating proportional balanced foods - like italian french german etc - and it was OK when folks were poor - nw they eat too much -and gettng fat
Then you have concept of eating what i want - today chinese, tomorrow italian, yesterday indian - different diets different proportions - you cannot control as you have no idea what nutritients are in them as they are out of your cultural background. If you kept into your own traditions you would eat rich one day and fast another - as it was in old times.
