Leftie NFL is trying to move the Superbowl from California to Texas
-
Due to constant lockdowns in California, the liberal NFL is trying to move next month's Superbowl to Texas.
Since the NFL is so liberal, they should keep the Superbowl in California to show their solidarity.
-
Typical Liberals, when they are forced to live by their crazy policies they change the rules.

You guys are seriously deranged!
Another example of shouting "FIRE" when someone just lit a match! It's sad and funny at the same time!
I live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida - home to multiple Super Bowls. The NFL always has backup plans for the Super Bowl!
- What if an Earthquake destroyed SoFi Stadium a week before the game? There are plans!
- What if the fires in CA made the air quality too poor to safely play? There are plans!
In fact, until the 2000's, if the host city's own team made it to the Super Bowl, an "alternate city" would host the game - so that there could be no "home field advantage"...
That policy was changed as more and more "festivities" got added to the game, and the logistics of moving all of that to another location became untenable....
Thus, a year ago Tampa's Raymond James Stadium hosted the hometown Tampa Bay Buccaneers - albeit in the visitor lockerroom - for Super Bowl 55 (LV).Long story short (I know, too late for that!)
- Are there contingency plans to move the Super Bowl, if needed? YES
- Is this new or different from any other recent Super Bowl? NOT SO MUCH
- Is this politically motivated? laughably no!
-
It's nothing to do with home-field advantage, but a lunatic governor who loves his lockdowns, which the NFL loves and supports.

@raphjd Lockdowns in California? My friends in California would find this quite surprising.
See https://covid19.ca.gov/safely-reopening/, updated four days ago. The top banner says,
Thanks to millions of vaccinations, California’s economy is open. There are no county tiers, capacity limits, or physical distancing requirements. But COVID-19 has not gone away. To safely go about our daily lives, we need to keep taking steps to prevent the spread.
If you want examples of lockdowns, look at some European countries or China.

I guess you forgot that they have had a lot of them.
This would include when Newsome was photoed at the French Laundry having dinner with "health officials" during a lockdown and they weren't wearing masks.

"Had" is a verb in the past tense. Those lockdowns occurred when vaccinations were less/non-available, and understanding of transmission mechanisms were not as well understood.
Can you identify the most recent statewide lockdown for us?

@eobox91103
Not statewide but Sofi stadium is located in Los Angeles county which has some of the country's greatest restrictions on personal freedoms in the Country. -

But the essence of my question remains: "Can someone identify the most recent county-wide lockdown for us?" See https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-12-21/l-a-county-says-no-lockdown-needed-now-as-california-require-boosters-for-health-workers from about two weeks ago.

Is there a rabbit hole @raphjd won't go down to prove he isn't wrong?
But - he was wrong - plain and simple.
As noted in my first response: he's shouting "FIRE" when it's just a candle in the window!
Nothing is happening to the Super Bowl - at least, not yet!
And the plans to move it are the NFL's standard "backup plans" - so that their $billion exercise isn't wasted!Oh! Look! There's a dog chasing a cat!
