Sarah Palin says she’ll get Covid vaccine ‘over my dead body’

I wonder if she appreciates the irony of her statement.

@eobox91103
She had Covid and therefore has better immunity then someone who is vaccinated.
Besides that 98.2% of people who get Covid 19 who survive and vaccinated people are 90% to 95% better odds.
Is it worth it to you to get a shot that has not been approved by the FDA?I'm am vaccinated and have the booster because I have several under lining conditions so I am in a bit higher risk group and taking the vaccine works for me.
But if you are young and health and are among the 98.2% of people that survive why would you take the risk of the experimental vaccine.
This is a decision made between you and your doctor and should not be mandated by the government, your employer or a school/university.
-
@geobear40 The problem I have with Sarah Palin's blathering is that it can further encourage unvaccinated & non-previously-infected people to not get a vaccination...and thus they are more likely to join the millions of unvaccinated people who have died from covid.
Mandated vaccination is a separate topic. I'm not comfortable with government requiring a vaccination, as long as people understand that being unvaccinated can have consequences: If a business owner wants to require customers to be vaccinated, s/he has that right. Similarly, if a business does not require customers or staff to be vaccinated, I have a right to not patronise that business.

@eobox91103
It is true that more people who have been unvaccinated have died. But more vaccinated people are getting the Omicron variant then the unvaccinated,
Why are you so hyped up on a virus that has a death rate of 1.8% and most of those had underling conditions.
If people listen to some stranger on rather they should get the shot they deserve what happens to them.

I don't think I'm "hyped"--but I would prefer 0% to 1.8%.
If people listen to some stranger on rather they should get the shot they deserve what happens to them.
I largely agree. A foundational principle of conservatism is that people should make their own choices, and also be responsible for the consequences of them. (I think a large majority of all people would subscribe to this.) Ideally, though, people would be properly informed about these choices when they make them. Getting medical advice from an Alaskan "hockey mom" is probably not prudent.

These are the people you want us to listen to.
Sarah Palin is dumb, but so is every liberal celeb that is telling us to get vaccinated.

No.
That piece from Twitter is a cherry-picking of excerpts from over a year ago. Science evolves. People learn. Things can change. Intelligent people keep up with them.
-
Didn't you say that NO ONE ever said those things they said in that video?
"Intelligent people" just keep obeying their masters, is what you mean.
In case you forgot, 8 months into the pandemic, Biden said that he had a plan to end covid, unlike everyone else, but he'd only end it if he was elected. Yeah, he's such a nice guy that he was only willing to help the world, which he hasn't, if he got what he wanted.
Even you admitted that vaccines, especially against viruses, don't work the way they claimed in the video.

Rather than quote individuals, let me generalize some corrections here:
- Natural immunity is NOT superior to immunity from the vaccinations.
BOTH the mRNA (Moderna & Pfizer) and traditional (J&J & AZ) variations of the common vaccines in the West produce BETTER immune response results than "natural" immunity coming from recovery from COVID-19 infection.
But that's not the point! The statistics that matter are not infections, so much as hospitalizations and deaths!
If both natural immunity AND vaccine-derived immunity BOTH prevent hospitalization and death upon (re-)infection, then both are reasonable protections, and the LEVEL of protection is moot! - Omicron is spreading rapidly, already supplanting Delta as the primary cause of infection and hospitalization in many areas of the world. Neither natural immunity (from prior COVID-19 infection), nor the vaccines, are offering the same level of protection against Omicron as the original, or even Delta... this is to be expected! The DNA sequence your immune system is "looking for" is a little different!
- Omicron is NOT infecting more immunized people than un-immunized - that is just plain false! Indeed, the statistics show that the natural and vaccine-based immunity is equally "good" at preventing hospitalizations from Omicron. It's not as good as the "incredible success" the mRNA vaccines had against the original strains (over 95% effective is/was miraculous! The 50-70% effectiveness we're seeing against Omicron is what was expected originally!)
- We don't know yet whether Omicron is more deadly than the original strains, but it appears to be less deadly than Delta (which is primarily what it is replacing in most areas of the world). However, less deadly is misleading: it's still a killer, and the un-immunized (whether naturally or by vaccine) are highly likely to need hospitalization (often leading to death).
Look at what the local hospitals (around the world, not just in Western countries) are saying: their ICUs are filling up again, and it's nearly ALL from un-vaccinated COVID-19 patients!
Take Aways:
- If you haven't been immunized, you should get the shot. Donald Trump did! (2-shots of Pfizer and recently, the booster!)
- Even if you have natural immunity, you are BETTER protected (against what matters: hospitalization and death!) by the vaccines - even on top of any natural immunity!
After almost 9-billion doses have been administered, the fear-mongers as-to the potential catastrophic effects have been proven wrong. We're not magnetized, there are no embedded chips, we're not growing extra-limbs, pregnancies are not being affected... 9-billion doses means it's not really all-that "new and untested" anymore... - Don't believe ANY predictions about this virus - they've ALL been wrong!
Trump was wrong predicting it would be over by the election.
Biden was wrong predicting it would be over in his first year (even admitting that all of the technology being used to FIGHT this virus came from initiatives STARTED (if not completed) by Trump!
So far, politicians have been far worse at predicting COVID-19 than they have been at predicting World Series outcomes! (Which has been 50/50 at-best!)
Even Scientists have been stymied - repeatedly - by this virus!
It'll be over when it's over (maybe never!) - and not before then! - Be careful when using "political" news sources for virus (or any other medical / science) information. They have an agenda - and it's not your good health!
I don't care if it's FOX or MSNBC - their "health news" is skewed to "protect" their political narrative!
So, what CAN you trust? Use sources from multiple countries - preferably NOT only those allied with each other: if the Israelis and the Iranians are reporting the same thing, it's probably "solid science". If the US and China and Russia all are saying the same things, it's probably "solid science"... but when I mention these sources, I don't mean the "news media" from those countries - I mean their official Gov't health agencies!
If we learned one thing from the Trump response to COVID-19, its that politics CAN influence the Gov't health narrative (no, I don't think he was the FIRST - only, perhaps, the sloppiest!)
- Natural immunity is NOT superior to immunity from the vaccinations.

Didn't you say that NO ONE ever said those things they said in that video?
No. When did I do that?
"Intelligent people" just keep obeying their masters, is what you mean.
No; intelligent people can learn when the knowledge advances or their own world view matures. Coronaviruses are better understood now than they were one year ago.
Even you admitted that vaccines, especially against viruses, don't work the way they claimed in the video.
Informed people today have a different understanding of vaccines than they did months/years ago. Again, that is due to the increase and advancement of knowledge, not from "lying" or some malevolent conspiracy. The person who put together the video on Twat-er would have done well to put a date stamp on each of the sound bites. For example, at one point Bill Gates is talking about vaccines, and 2021, in the future tense:
The video editor would be more responsible using current information such as:
from two days ago.I expect that one year from now intelligent and informed people will have new understandings of covid based on the advance of knowledge. That doesn't mean that people are lying today or will be lying one year now. It means that people are able to learn. This is a good thing.
-
OK, I guess it was the person with an identical user name as you.
I do love the "if you don't agree with me, you aint intelligent" shit.
I have the same medical degree Bill Gates does.

Ms Feng Feng got her medical degree. How sweet.
Ms Feng Feng supports liberal MSM and social media controlling the "facts" even though Zuck the Cuck admitted in court filings that their "facts" are just lowly opinions.
Let's not forget that Ms Feng Feng got her Kyle Rittenhouse "facts" from liberal media and thought that Kyle Rittenhouse killed 3 black men in Illinois.
