This Is Such Bullsh*t

Ok, I learned a long time ago to leave the posting of politics to @raphjd, butt, this shit is getting on my fucking nerves! And if you don't know who I'm talking about, it's Mandalorian star Gina Carano!
This is a dangerous climate Americans are in. All someone has to do is complain about you in social media, and you're instantly fired! What the fck happened to free speech? Oh, I guess that only applies to the offended. I swear, some people need to get their ass smacked fcking hard! We're becoming a bunch of cry fcking babies, NOT GROWN ADULTS! WHO GIVES A FCK!! That's her opinion! She has a right to that! That doesn't mean she should get fired for the right to have her own opinion! These people complaining on social media needs to get a nice fat 30 pound dick right up their ass!!
-
LOL Internet TROLLS !!!
[They are everywhere hiding under mama's basement] -
Hmmmm... articles I HAVE READ the move was made only when advertisers & financial backers insisted.
Not that your outrage isn't valid, only that it may be misplaced.
Do advertisers have too much sway???
It's the American Way: Money talks! -
Advertisers don't tend to care until the social media mobs go mental.

Advertisers care about money. Start, Stop, Middle: MONEY.
When sponsoring someone will help sell product, they're in!
When sponsoring someone will hurt sales, they're out! FAST!They don't care whether the message comes from Social Media (though it does make it easier for them to "keep an eye on the pulse of the buying public"!); hand-written, US-Mail delivered, writing campaigns; or sky-writing!

Shaking head.
Some days, I am SO glad to enjoy my hearing impairments and challenges.

It's freedom of speech, not freedom from consequences. She has a right to her opinion, just as a company she's employed with has the right to fire her ass. I've read articles and I didn't see anything about advertisers or financial backers insisting she be fired.
What's amusing is that the people defending her now are the same people that, when she was first introduced on the show, complained about her being a strong female character, that she was a Mary Sue, that The Mandalorian was just trying to be PC and add a strong female it didn't need to add.
I was a huge fan of hers from her MMA days and her movie Haywire. At the end of the day, she fucked around and found out. She's transphobic, an antimasker and compared being a Republican in America to being a Jewish person during the Holocaust. Girl, bye.

That's not how it works! People are trying to ruin one of the main things immigrants bust their ass to come here for! That is the freedom to express themselves without fear of persecution. Too many people are just too sensitive and find fault in every little thing! And gay people should know better than that! No one has a right to take away someone's livelihood because some of you don't know how to mind your own business! I don't think she said was a whole big deal.
BTW, at least she acknowledge the Holocaust existed! There are some people today, who honestly believe in their gut it's a lie. Why don't you go after people like that! This is the kind of sh*t republicans talk about. Asking to be tolerant, while being INtolerant to others! It's an opinion, get over it.
However, I do acknowledge it's a catch 22. But, I'd rather people be honest with their opinion so that I know who they truly are, than being forced to hide who they really are in political correctness. Regardless, people have to live their lives. Some how the "christian thinking' falls to the waist side. Forgiveness is not a virtue.

Liberals love cancel culture until it hits them.
-
@anythingold You talk about people minding their own business but this was tweeted out, this is as public as it gets, so that doesn't wash an excuse for her behaviour. She knew what she posted online would be seen around the world and still did it and just because your opinion differs to that of a significant number of people out there doesn't mean theirs is wrong.
Also discussing Holocaust denial is nothing more then whataboutery. -

Also discussing Holocaust denial is nothing more then whataboutery. There's a difference between tweeting what I consider news (because it actually happened), and the people that went as fare as tweeting the studios demanding her fairing! That's the part that requires those people to mind their business! None of those people can through any stones! For real. Most people have said something that was unknowingly despicable. It's part of being human. Some people learn from it, some people don't. But unless something is said personally against someone, they should mind their business. This is the kind of shit that the "Me Too Movement" is doing. They have the power to blacklist you for saying anything they deem offensive. These actions are childish, and they need to go suck a cock.
-
I mean, consequences right? We all have controversial opinions about something but we have to know that if we say out loud, we gonna get reactions, and it's not always gonna be someone agreeing with you. I think she forgot that.
-
Unless someone says something really unforgivably sick, like Hitler should have exterminated all Jews, I think they should have ignored it and moved on. Because from personal experience, Black people have said things far worse to each other in public. Gays have suffered a lot worse verbal attacks by homophobic straights. We really need to learn not to be so reactionary. There are far worse shit to worry about. Like getting rid of this damn virus before it exterminates the entire planet.
-
@anythingold So, it's okay for her to say what she said because it didn't offend you?
By the way, that is exactly how it works. You choose to spew garbage and people are free to call you out on it. When you are hired by a company and paid the kind of money she was getting paid, you have a responsibility. She's allowed to have her opinions, but it would not have cost a damn thing for her to keep her opinions to herself.
@raphjd You realize cancel culture was created by conservatives, right? From Kathy Griffin to Colin Kaepernick, to Brie Larsen, even as far back as the fucking Dixie Chicks. Conservatives LOVE to destroy property they've already paid for to make a "point".
And the irony is completely lost on these people that are canceling their Disney+ membership. You cancel it because they fired Gina. So you're people should be able to cancel things they disagree with.
Cancel culture is just accountability for adults.
-
Cancel culture is a leftist thing, it came as a result of your beloved doxxing.
You "liberals" call people's jobs in order to get them fired. You people don't just cancel celebs, you try to cancel everyday people.
Would you get butt hurt if I "cancelled" you for spewing your liberal garbage on this site? I mean, it would have cost you nothing to keep your opinions to yourself.
-
@raphjd Having financially contributed to this site, it feels pretty shitty that you would go as far as to elude to “cancel” me. You don’t support me, I’m not your employee. If you wish to censor me for saying things you disagree with, that says more about you than it does me.
You’re treating this like it’s strictly a liberal thing, when both sides are guilty of cancel culture. It doesn’t matter who started it. What matters is the basis for canceling someone.
I guess I should have just stuck to torrents and not stuck my nose in on the forums.

The reality is, "cancel" culture is something that overwhelmingly comes from the extreme left. The democratic party are masters of brainwashing, thus caused a division in this country we've never seen before. When you match that along with instant belief in anything the left says, it's a recipe for disaster. I think schools should start teaching children early on the concept of "context," and the importance of understanding it before beliefs are formed.
Second, your contribution has absolutely nothing to do with the views of anyone on this site. They're just that, a contribution. The offering of monies does not Entitle you to try persuade how people think and what they say.
Fact check, @raphjd is the only tracker owner (straight or gay, mainstream or mediocre) that allows his members to speak freely. The vast amount of pirate sites out there have staff that operate like "cancel culture," and it pisses me off. They deem almost everything is politically incorrect. They delete shit for the slightest things. That is very important to note, because sometimes there are important information that is content in the posts these "delete happy" mods delete. People need to understand that this is a problem. And thoroughly research what the fuck free speech means! It does not mean to punish someone who says something you don't personally like. This is how propaganda is born.
-
I wasn't saying I would ban you. I was just using it as an example based on what you already said.
I'm not the site owner, that would be Joker.
I do have free reign though.

As has been pointed out, "Cancel Culture" is a societal problem, not a liberal or conservative one...
Liberals have "deployed" cancel culture on certain conservative extremists, and conservatives have done the same to liberals.
Hell, conservatives are "doing it to their own" - right now, with the attempts to oust the Republicans (in some cases [e.g.: Liz Cheney] LEADERS of the party!)... solely because they won't fall in line behind "The Orange Don-ald"!
Part of the problem is that the Internet has given us nearly unlimited capacity to store data - so, for example, there was a CFO who lost his CAREER because he was incensed about hearing that Chick-Fil-A (a chicken fast-food joint in the US) was making corporate statements that were anti-LGBTQ. His (the CFO's) offense? He video'd himself lambasting a Chick-Fil-A drive-thru clerk for working for a hate-filed company. (Damn, the poor girl just wanted a JOB! I'm pretty sure she didn't check the political leanings of the company when she applied for that low-as-shit-wage job!)
So he got some hate mail (ok, deserved)... his COMPANY (employer - he was the CFO of the company) was attacked in the social media: threatened with bomb threats, boycotts, etc, so they fired him. (MAYBE deserved, but only because he was a C**-level employee, and he "represented the company" poorly)... But shit didn't stop there... he got a new job (NOT a C**-level job), but "activists" found out, notified that company, and he was fired again! (NOT cool!) And this repeated for over 5-years! These people would not let the man get and keep a job to support his family?
EDIT: OOPS! To be clear: maybe he should have lost his job for posting the video and identifying himself as the CFO of his employer. NO! His employer should NOT have received bomb threats, etc from social media activists!)
When is enough, enough? In the Internet Age, you cannot outlive your past sins! It's there FOREVER!
Should that nutball lady in Central Park be FOREVER ostracized because she called the cops on the birder in the park - because he was black, and she was scared? (Totally a racist thing - but not unforgivable, and should not be a life-ruining thing!) Even the victim told activists: enough! Leave the poor lady alone!
Should Kevin Hart never work in hollywood again because he made some anti-LGBTQ jokes 10-years ago??? Fuck no! He apologized for it - noting that they were different times - but "cancel culture" wouldn't hear of it! There can be no atonement! He cannot host the Emmy Awards if he - even 10 years ago - made fun of queer people!
BULLSHIT
BUT some of the arguments in this thread are off-base too:
There is no such thing as Speech that is FREE OF CONSEQUENCES!
Speech in America is free of persecution by the Government!
When you call your neighbor a FAG in a street-side argument, and the neighborhood queer kids TP your house that night, your rights weren't violated! You were sent a message - by the local queer kids - and now, you have a 6-month supply of TP! The only problem is: it's in trees! In America it is legal to believe the Holocaust isn't real. (In Germany, making such a claim is a criminal offense.)
In America telling people your belief that the Holocaust was faked will get you thrown out of a lot of parties, but it won't (at least, not by itself) get you thrown in jail! Thus, "cancel culture" isn't illegal - at least not in America...
But it IS (IMHO) completely amoral and wrong (I know, redundant much?). It's an ugly addition to our culture, and one that history will not remember with any fondness... -
There's a huge difference between wanting politicians out of office and getting random people fired from their jobs.
