Dirty secret of Ukraine war is, it's a civil war. In eastern 2/3, citizens feel they are all, more or less Russian. It's just that some are Ukraine patriots - they oppose greater Russia, as their ancestors did in WW2 when they fought weirdly & wrongly for Hitler. While others are Russia patriots - they serve greater Russia, as their ancestors did in WW2 when they fought rightly against Hitler.
So you arrive at idea of Ukrainians and/or Russians - does it matter??? - who hate Russia, hate Putin, support Ukraine, but call themselves Russian, while also being Nazi racists.
