I'll agree, as well. Shaming speaks more of that person's insecurities. Who knows? Maybe they have some body issues that they often feel powerless to control, thus all the compensating and overcompensating at the gym. That happens to me, a lot. But, I go to a gym that doesn't body shame people. Incidentally, it's a MMA gym, so we all realize that the amateur and pro fighters who frequently attend are doing crazy (maybe even unhealthy) routines to keep themselves ready to fight. While the rest of us are just trying to be healthy.

being a fat person myself. thankfully i haven't. it's actually rare for it to happen these days which your story surprised me off. maybe change gyms? because the culture there doesn't seem to be good
I agree, look for another gym if possible.
The gym I go to (people and staff) would never tolerate "fat shaming". We're all there to get and keep fit.
There's a much nicer gym across town but it's full of fuck heads, so it's not worth it.
