Things have definitely changed for me, and I think that's true for most. When we're young, we're literally surrounded by no end of shame and fear, which basically govern modern society – it's how they push almost everything. And not gonna lie -- a lot of young people on the scene are pretty shallow and finicky, but I think that is in large part due to the fact that they're experiencing that same fear and uncertainty.
Nowadays, I'm pretty laissez-faire with regards to sexuality and sexual expression, fetish, kink, et cetera. Something may not be for me, but I don't have a strong reaction to most things. As long as it's consenting partners, even if it may not be for me, I just kind of feel like...whatever! But even speaking personally, I've more or less entirely stopped being ashamed of things turning me on, whether or not they're widely-embraced.
I think it's a sign of maturity, really. You grow up, you stop being so afraid about being judged by people who don't matter in the first place and never did.
