You may have to wait and restrain yourself, but I wouldn't totally abandon your feelings. Keep it professional, but stay in contact with him while he's attending the University. Help him out, be a good mentor… keep that aspect of your relationship legit. You may even get some "hints" if you keep in contact with him like that. If it feels right, maybe when he's approaching graduation, bring up your sexuality and/or interest.
As has been stated, your primary concern should be for your career and personal safety in situations like these. But I don't believe in permanently blacklisting an individual. Life just isn't that clear-cut.

Has any of you guys actually build their own PC? I'm very tempted to try this out, I know how to install new hardware etc and there's a lot of guides available online, so it shouldn't be too complicated.
I'm in the same boat. I've installed hard drives and GPU's in pre-built machines, but never made a rig from scratch. My Dad and good friend are both in the IT field, and have offered to help me put one together, but I'd prefer doing it all myself - probably for bragging rights and a sense of accomplishment ;D
PC gamer here; FPS, fighting, and action RPG are my genres of choice.

Definitely gonna need to upgrade soon if I want to get max enjoyment out of upcoming titles like GTA V and Star Citizen.
A Firefox boycott seems a bit extreme at this early juncture. I'm going to wait and see if he behaves. But if he's caught spewing hate speech or donating to anti-LGBT legislation? THAT's when I'm boycotting.
