GayTor.rent Upload Utility v18 has been released!
Changelog
- Fixed uploading errors
- Added the ability to switch between the new (.rent) and old (.ru) domain
- Added server announcements/warnings on startup
It seems to be an issue with the website configuration on their end as it only happens on the new domain (gaytor.rent). If I modify GUU to use the old domain (.ru) all uploads work fine, which is also the reason QTM works at this time.
I have reported this to the admin and I hope it will be addressed. There is not much I can do right now other than making a temporary update so that GUU uses the old domain, but this will complicate things so I am probably not going to do that.
@kurtiscub Hi and sorry for the delay. I have been debugging the issue for the past few days but it seems that the server is rejecting all picture uploads made by GUU (all other functionality works as expected). I have messaged the site admin about this but haven't got a reply yet.
For now I will continue doing some tests and wait for a reply from the admin in the meantime. Sorry again for the inconvenience.
Hi everyone, thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will investigate this and fix the problem as soon as I can. I'll keep you updated.
@geniusacamel There is a setting that allows you to specify a directory where you want your torrents to be saved, although it is disabled by default so you should check it out.
@lololulu19 No, this is different software than QTM. Please read the first post in this thread for more info.
@ianfontinell-0 @PrototypA5 Personally I would recommend to everyone to update their torrent software not just for the functionality but mostly due to security reasons. Although if someone strictly wants to use a client which does not support V2 for whatever reason I can of course add an option for that in the settings.
The question is, which should be the default? This should depend on what torrent clients most people here use, but I don't have such information.
@tandemblue I'll assume you are talking about GUU and not QTM. If this is related to QTM, this is not the right thread to post this.
To display the list of categories, you must be logged in. Make sure you have clicked "Log In" in the bottom right and your username appears correctly in the status box.
@ferreiro That's weird. Would it be alright if we continue this discussion in a private message so we can resolve this?
@AllThatChonk @john32123666 Also if you want you could take a look at a new tool I made (GayTor.rent Upload Utility) which automates uploading and seeding like QTM, but it works.
You can have a look here: https://community.gaytorrent.ru/topic/65942
@ferreiro Hi! Does the program show any error?
Also could you also send me the log file found in C:\Users\(your_user)\AppData\Roaming\guu\log.txt
?
Thanks.
@dhougie Hi, you should be able to create torrents from folders noe.
What error did you get when uploading? (It would also help to provide the logs)
@dhougie Thanks for letting me know about this issue! I found the problem and I will fix it in the next release of GUU.
@dhougie Hi again! I wasn't able to reproduce this on my end, however I did make some changes in the latest release (v14) which might potentially fix your issue. So give it a try if you want and let me know if it worked.
If it still does not work, please let me know and also make sure to send me the program logs too (by selecting Tools -> Open logs).
@dhougie Hi, thanks for reporting! Could you tell me what your operating system is? (Window/Mac/Linux)
Also at the bottom of the program, what is the status of gaytor.rent?
@ianfontinell-0 Hi! Thanks for lettings me know, I wasn't aware this option existed. I'll definitely have a look at this some time.
Although one I can say for sure is that this will not be more reliable than the web API, since there is direct communication with qBT, while by using the command line interface I have to make additional system calls which may produce unwanted errors. Plus I don't think it will be possible on macOS.
That being said I will still give it a try because it may be easier for users to set up.
