    • RE: Is the opposite of RIGHT "Left" or "Wrong"?

      @mhorndisk:

      In the book, "Fire in the Minds of Men," written by the Librarian of Congress, James Billington, he explains that the term "Left" originated in France, when the secularists rose against the patriarchy and the divine right to rule of Kings, creating the Socialist Revolutionary Faith, a few hundred years ago. They were considered "left" in relation to the "left hand path," i.e. EVIL, and atheist.

      So people on the "right" are religious zealots? Okay.

    • RE: Trump campaign likely didn't save documents

      @Frederick:

      @Drwas:

      The Trump campaign likely did not preserve documents and communications key to the law enforcement investigation into possible collusion between President Trump's associates and the Kremlin, Politico reported Saturday.

      Political campaigns, Politico noted, are typically not required to preserve emails on their private server for long windows of time, and most messages are deleted within 30 to 90 days, unless steps are taken to preserve them.

      What's more, the Trump campaign did not do much to establish a plan to maintain those communications, according to a former campaign aide.

      "You’d be giving us too much credit,” the former aide told Politico. "The idea of document retention did not come up. The idea of some formal structure did not come up."

      The White House itself is subject to more rigorous recordkeeping rules, and White House counsel Don McGahn directed staffers in February to preserve documents and other records that could be requested or used in ongoing federal investigations into Russian election meddling.

      But at issue for some White House staffers is the existence of encrypted apps, such as Signal and Confide, that automatically delete messages. Failure to maintain certain records, according to Politico, could potentially lead to legal trouble.

      U.S. law requires individuals to preserve documents, emails and other records once they become aware that such material could be pertinent to an investigation, regardless of whether they are formally notified by investigators.

      You still can't get over the fact that Trump WON and Hillary LOST?    Have you considered seeing a therapist?

      Trump had a narrow victory, one of the two most disliked candidates in history.

    • Firefox throws Secure Connection Failed for many Microsoft domains

      As of May 29, Firefox users are currently unable to access some Microsoft websites.

      When you try to connect select Microsoft owned domains such as Hotmail.com or Codeplex.com right now in Firefox, you may get a Secure Connection Failed error.

      Sites that are affected by the issue include the following domains: hotmail.com, codeplex.com, visualstudio.com, azurewebsites.net, social.technet.microsoft.com, onedrive.live.com.

      In fact, it appears that the majority of Microsoft owned domains are affected by the issue. Only some sites are not.

      The error reads:

      "Secure Connection Failed

      An error occurred during a connection to xyz.codeplex.com. Invalid OCSP signing certificate in OCSP response. Error code: SEC_ERROR_OCSP_INVALID_SIGNING_CERT

      The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."

      When you try to load the site in another web browser, say Google Chrome or Internet Explorer, it loads fine and without any issues.

      Temporary Workaround

      The only option that Firefox users have right now to access affected Microsoft domains is to disable OSCP Stapling in the browser. Well, another option would be to use a different browser until the issue is resolved.

      Type about:config in the address bar of Firefox and hit the Enter-key.
         Confirm that you will be careful if the notification is displayed.
         Search for the preference: security.ssl.enable_ocsp_stapling.
         Double-click on it to set it to false.

      Doing so turns off OCSP Stapling in the Firefox web browser. Firefox will load the sites that refused to load before. A restart is not required.

      Note: Disabling OCSP Stapling may affect the functionality of other websites that you visit, provided that they make use of the security feature.

      The Trump campaign probably didn't save documents to avoid evidence of their collusion with questionable groups.

      Any reason why Trump doesn't fire Kushner and actually "drain the swamp"? Is it because he is Ivanka's husband? Ah nepotism, how I loathe thee.

      I'm tired of Trump supporters always blaming his "globalist" cabinet members and never the person who actually put them in place.

      It is very possible Russia could have some leverage over Trump, considering that hackers have not released any data on the Republicans during the election cycle.

      @Frederick:

      I don't know what is scarier..
      That a 37 year old Federal Prosecutor was found dead with blunt force trauma to his head.. while investigating DNC voter fraud
      OR
      That the mainstream media are IGNORING this story!

      Where's the calls for special prosecutors and FBI probes, etc?

      Unbelievable.

      If you type in the name of the person who was killed, Beranton J. Whisenant Jr., into a search engine, it will return many sites that you would consider "mainstream media" so don't be disingenuous.

      I did google his name.. and very few hits came back.  Almost all of the stories didn't go any further than saying he was a federal prosecutor who was found dead.  They sure didn't treat it like front page news.

      This reminds me of my own local newspaper:
      When a little white girl is killed, it's front page news with color pictures and several stories about it.
      When a black person is killed, it gets buried in a one paragraph article in the middle of the paper with no pictures.

      So, because a story you want is not front page news you're not satisfied.  ::)

      This does not prove a conspiracy nor does it prove your point that "mainstream media" was not covering it.

      @mhorndisk:

      Ooooh, a technicality. The story I refer to was posted yesterday; while you ignore that the media can't tell you if it was a blunt force head strike, or a gun shot. BIG DIFFERENCE. Another coincidence that should be totally simple, like the Truth.

      Of course they can't! An autopsy would have to be performed by a Medical examiner or Coroner to determine the cause of death. And even then it would probably be sealed because of an ongoing police investigation.

      @mhorndisk:

      What you are suggesting is speculative. You are trying to ignore the coincidence by talking about "facts," when this JUST happened today.

      No, he wasn't just killed today, his body was found on Wednesday, May 24. Get your facts straight.

      @mhorndisk:

      What you just said is speculative itself: "Involved in major crimes and illegal immigration cases." What you are suggesting is that his involvement in that was "more or less likely," but you don't know. I am not suggesting that I "know," or that it's "a fact," merely that it is another curious coincidence that should be investigated. That's all.

      @mhorndisk:

      http://www.usapoliticstoday.com/federal-prosecutor-found-dead/

      This was in Debbie Wasserman Schultz's district in Miami. This is days after she threatened DC police that "there will be consequences," for not returning the laptop they were investigating. Perhaps a ruse to distract from Seth Rich… But nonetheless, another in the LONG list of "coincidences."

      All speculative, and tin foil hat nonsense. This prosecutor had been involved in many activities such as Miami major crimes and illegal immigration cases. He worked in the private sector for a long time before becoming a federal prosecutor.

      But, I guess facts don't matter so long as we can make up some conspiracy.

      @Frederick:

      Hillary blatantly calls for everyone to RESIST, and will never stop fighting Trump (even though she LOST - I guess she hasn't accepted the fact that she LOST).

      Remember when Trump said he would abide by the results of the presidency, no matter who won?

      Oh wait. He didn't. In fact, he said the exact opposite.

      This is no longer about political parties. This is about the sovereignty of our entire nation. The fact that you people are completely complacent about the countless allegations against Trump - which, regardless of whether or not they turn out to be true, are inherently extremely serious and should not be treated like a joke - is proof of where your values truly are. Instead of obstructing justice, like the whole of the right wing has been doing for ages now, you should be working WITH authorities to make the investigations go as smoothly and as quickly as possible. If they turn out to be not true, then great, good for you. But if you're so sure about his innocence, why are you so scared of letting the investigations continue unhindered? For that matter, why is HE so scared of letting the investigations go on?

      It makes you think, doesn't it? Except, well, you clearly don't think.

      Odd, that it's about "the sovereignty of our entire nation" but the complete opposite when we talk about Brexit and the EU.

      Can you lefties please make up your mind?!   FFS!!!

      You are also being a hypocrite.  Why did Hillary delete 30k of emails?   That is obstruction.

      Wasn't Bill impeached for obstruction?

      1. Are you saying everyone on "the left" shares the same positions on issues? You're wrong

      2. You can be on "the left" and not like Hillary

      3. Bill Clinton was impeached for lying, not "obstruction"

      Trump will likely be impeached for abusing the powers of the president. He has blamed the constitution for his failures in his past 100 days:

      It clearly shows that Trump has made mistakes.
      However, I would add that some people - like Trump - fix their mistakes, while others - like Hillary - keep making the same mistakes and doubling down.

      Unfortunately, Trump keeps making the same "mistakes" over and over again. The flipflopper in chief just can't make up his mind sometimes.
