A Christian TV host has claimed that he once convinced a man to renounce his homosexuality – by offering him baseball tickets.
David and Jason Benham were dropped as hosts of HGTV series ‘Flip it Forward’ last year, after it emerged they were both radical anti-gay activists.
David Benham has previously compared same-sex marriage to Nazi Germany, protested against Pride marches, and warned that homosexuality is a “demonic ideology taking our universities and our public school systems”.
The anti-gay star claimed to the National Religious Broadcasters convention that he managed to convince a gay man who was initially outraged by the pair’s activism to renounce his sexuality.
According to the Blaze, David Benham said: “We had so many people from the gay community reaching out to us and one man in particular from the city of Chicago reached out and he said things to me that made me lose my appetite.
“But I simply responded in love. After a little conversation back and forth, I found out he loved baseball and I got him tickets to a Cubs game.
“He shot me a Facebook post and said, ‘I was not expecting that and I’ve been thinking a lot about this. I’ve chosen to walk away from my lifestyle’.”
Incredibly, the story drew a round of applause from the audience at the conference.
Benham added later of the controversy: “Love filled our heart. We had absolutely no hatred. What God needs most is a simple voice for truth.”

Babies with two biological same-sex parents could become a reality in just two y
Researchers from Cambridge University have found that it is possible to make a baby using the skin cells of parents of the same sex.
A stem cell research breakthrough has revealed that in just two years same-sex couples could have their own biological children.
Researchers from Cambridge University have discovered that it is possible to make a baby using skin cells of parents of the same sex.
The researchers have shown, for the first time, that human egg and sperm cells can be made from stem cells in the skin of two adults. They have stated that the technique could mean same-sex couples could have babies in just two years.
The scientists used stem cell lines from embryos as well as cells from the skin of five different adults. Ten different donor sources have been used so far and new germ-cell lines have been created from all of them.
The team, funded by The Wellcome Trust, compared the engineered stem cells with human cells from foetuses to make sure they had identical characteristics.
Azim Surani, leader of the project, told The Sunday Times: “We have succeeded in the first and most important step of this process, which is to show we can make these very early human stem cells in a dish. We have also discovered that one of the things that happens in these germ cells is that epigenetic mutations, the cell mistakes that occur with age, are wiped out.” -
First lesbian kiss on South Korean TV sparks complaints
A lesbian kiss on TV in South Korea has led to a number of complaints to the country’s regulator.
Two students shared a kiss on school drama ‘Seonam Girls High School Investigators’ on Wednesday evening – which is thought to be the first lesbian kiss on TV in the country.
However, the moment sparked outrage among conservative viewers – and the broadcast regulator has now pledged to investigate whether the moment violated regulations.
The Korea Communications Standards Commission said: “We will decide whether this is an issue after we look into it, and whether there is any violation of broadcast policy.”
The creators of the show have defended the kiss as “necessary to the plot”.
Last year, a kiss between two female characters was edited out of a broadcast of Doctor Who in the country by BBC Worldwide.
The moment where Silurian lizard-woman Madame Vastra (Neve McIntosh) locked lips with her human wife Jenny Flint (Catrin Stewart) was cut from broadcasts in Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
A BBC spokesperson had said: “In order to comply with broadcast regulations in Asia where our BBC Entertainment channel airs, BBC Worldwide made a brief edit to the first episode of Doctor Who Series 8, but did so without detracting from the storyline.” -

The out actor recounted a story of the incident to the Observer – when he was slashed aged 18.
He said: “I’d been in a pub in Romford, getting the train to my to meet my parents in Brentwood. I was wearing a cardigan. At that time you never wore a cardigan in Romford.”
Two men sat opposite Tovey on the train – before launching an attack on him. The actor was punched repeatedly and slashed above the ear with a knife.
He continued: “One said to the other, ‘Are you going to cut him or am I?’
“ pouring blood everywhere… I didn’t know where it was coming from, I thought they’d cut my throat. Another passenger was giving me sugar out of a sachet.”
“If they’d asked for my wallet or phone I would have understood it. But it wasn’t anything to do with that. They just wanted to f**king hurt me.
“And trying to get your head around that, later… For years afterwards I was left with an insecurity.
“I’d see groups of lads, even in a pub, and I’d feel intimidated. It’s a weird thing but if you talk to other people who’ve been through it, you give off a vibe. The pack can sense you’re weak. It made me so frustrated.
“Going down the gym, discovering the gym three years ago, and really going for it – I feel a lot more in charge. I needed to exorcise that feeling of being a little scared, skinny rat” -
Is UKIP running out of ways to say sorry for homophobes?
UKIP appears to be running out of ways to say sorry – after releasing identical statements about two separate instances of homophobia.
This week, leaflets distributed by the ‘Christian Soldiers in UKIP’ group at the party’s spring conference in Margate claimed that the state was allowing “sexual grooming” of primary school children by educating them about the issues.
In a statement released on Friday, UKIP condemned the leaflets, saying: “These groups are authorised but not official, they are mechanisms for members with shared interests to associate but have no official role or status. They do not represent the party or its policies.
“This leaflet was recently brought to our attention. Authorised groups are not allowed to invent UKIP policy, and we do not consider that this leaflet is of an acceptable standard to be associated with the UKIP brand.”
However, the statement appears to be identical to one released by the party about a separate incident nearly a month before – after the same group handed out a leaflet claimed that being gay is a “vice”, and that Manchester Pride is a parade of “wickedness”.
On February 4, UKIP had said: “These groups are authorised but not official, they are mechanisms for members with shared interests to associate but have no official role or status. They do not represent the party or its policies.
“This leaflet was recently brought to our attention. Authorised groups are not allowed to invent UKIP policy, and we do not consider that this leaflet is of an acceptable standard to be associated with the UKIP brand.”
Meanwhile, a statement from LGBTQ* in UKIP – which recently appointed a new leader after former Chair Tom Booker quit the party – has savaged the leaflets.
It says:
In response to the leaflets distributed by members of the group ‘Christian Soldiers’, the members of LBGT* in UKIP are dismayed at the level of ignorance and intolerance demonstrated by these individuals.
Once again it is important to acknowledge that such views are not representative of UKIP and as they are not official spokespeople of UKIP, their views are not shared by the party.
By inciting such hatred to their fellow man, the members of ‘Christian soldiers’ are not only providing disservice to UKIP and the LGBT* community, but also to themselves.
Alongside the chosen passages of the bible of condemnation, that has proven popular by those who wish to subjugate those who are ‘different’, the bible teaches compassion and love toward fellow man:
Matthew 7:1-3
1 ‘Do not judge, or you too will be judged.’
2 “For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
3 ‘Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?’
John 8:7 ‘He who is without sin can cast the first stone’
A fundamental belief of Christianity is accepting that in Gods eyes we are all sinners, all sin is equal and there no sin that is greater than another. The act of judging those based on sexuality is, by their own text, a sin. Made furthermore by turning people away from God.
In reference to the accusation of ‘grooming’ children due to the inability to reproduce our ‘own kind’ this is an absolutely absurd notion. Considering most LGBT* members were born into a heterosexual environment, therefore this invalidates a correlation between sexuality and nurture.
Educating and encouraging children from a young age to have an open mind and believe that ‘different’ is OK is in fact installing the traditional values and principles commonly associated with Christianity of being a positive and non judgmental member of the community. -

South Carolina college's statement ignites homosexuality furor
In a policy adopted Feb. 20, Erskine College has effectively banned homosexual behavior on its campus. And the move appears to be in response to two male volleyball players coming out last year.
The Washington Post reported that the school will now abide by a “Statement on Human Sexuality,” which was adopted by the college’s Board of Trustees and Student Services and Athletic Committee.
In March of last year, Drew Davis and Juan Varona, two Erskine volleyball players, were featured in an article published on OutSports, in which the athletes officially came out as gay. Following the article’s appearance, the Division II team went on to the NCCA tournament.
In part, the statement issued by Erskine — located in Due West, S.C. — reads:
“We believe the Bible teaches that monogamous marriage between a man and a woman is God’s intended design for humanity and that sexual intimacy has its proper place only within the context of marriage.
We believe the Bible teaches that all sexual activity outside the covenant of marriage is sinful and therefore ultimately destructive to the parties involved. As a Christian academic community, and in light of our institutional mission, members of the Erskine community are expected to follow the teachings of scripture concerning matters of human sexuality and institutional decisions will be made in light of this position.”
The college has reacted to the flurry of news stories on Twitter, saying “No gay (or straight) students have been asked to leave Erskine College based on the Statement.”
In a news release issued Feb. 27, the college sought to clarify its Statement on Human Sexuality:
“The recent coverage of Erskine’s Statement on Human Sexuality has generated considerable confusion based on an inaccurate understanding of the nature of the statement and its intent. This statement describes a position. It does not prescribe a policy and does not ‘ban’ any individual or class of individuals from attending Erskine. No students have been asked to leave Erskine based on this statement.”
Other Twitter users have taken the news in a different light:

Guy Fieri officiates 101 gay weddings in Miami
America's favorite bleached-haired, greasy-spoon-loving TV host officiated 101 weddings on Miami Beach this weekend, the Associated Press reports.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Guy Fieri, best known as host of the popular Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, participated in a mass same-sex wedding in Florida — purple tuxedo and all. Fieri's late sister was a lesbian.
According to AP, the event was organized by much-loved celebrity chef Art Smith, perhaps best known as the former personal chef to Oprah Winfrey. Smith met his partner in Miami 15 years ago, and they married in 2010.
Smith planned the ceremony and party after finding out that Florida had lifted the ban on same-sex marriages in January. And the number of weddings — 101 — was very deliberate.
Smith told AP that he chose the number to liken Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi — who opposed legalizing gay marriage — to Cruella De Vil, the classic 101 Dalmatians villain.
The chefs were in town for the Miami Food and Wine Festival.
Ace of Cakes star Duff Goldman made the cake and Chi Chi LaRue, a popular Miami drag queen, DJ'd the party. Food included fried chicken, crab-stuffed avocados and a seven-tiered wedding cake.
Check out joyous photos from the event on Twitter with the hashtag #101gayweddings.
They're, in the words of Fieri, "bomb-dot-com."

Gay Couple Kissing 'Ordered Off London Bus By Homophobic Driver'
A gay couple say they were ordered off a London bus by the driver after he spotted them kissing.
Jack James, 23, and his partner were on board an 89 bus near Blackheath when the driver allegedly made homophobic comments.
James told the Evening Standard: “We were chatting away when my partner gave me a peck on the lips.
“The bus driver shouted ‘Oi you two don’t do that on my fucking bus or you can get off, I don’t want to watch that’.”
Initially, the couple thought the driver could not be speaking to them.
James added: "When the bus stopped at our stop I walked up to the driver and politely asked the driver if he was talking to us. His reply was 'Yes, it's my bus, it is my rules, and I don't want to watch that. It's disgusting. Get off the bus'.
"Once we got off the bus we were fuming and I was shaking. The bus stopped again and he shouted and told us we were not real men and we should f*** off."
The alleged incident happened on August 8 at around 10.30pm.
Ken Davidson, TfL’s Head of Bus Operations, told Huffington Post UK via email: “All customers have the right to use our services without fear of being abused and offensive behaviour is completely unacceptable.
"We would like to reassure Mr James that this matter is being taken very seriously and that a thorough investigation is being conducted by Go Ahead.”
Earlier this month, hundreds of people took part in a a "big consensual kiss-in" at a Sainsbury's store in Brighton in protest at the treatment of two women who were threatened with ejection from the store a few days earlier for kissing.

Campaign Launched To Improve Health Support For Men Who Have Sex With Men (MSM)
Campaign Launched To Improve Health Support For Men Who Have Sex With Men (MSM) - But Is It Enough?
A new action plan has been launched to support the health and wellbeing of men who have sex with other men.
Public Health England (PHE) has launched the campaign in an attempt to cancel out inequalities affecting gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men. The latter group are men who have sex with men on occasion, but who do not identify as gay or bisexual. The health body have adopted the umbrella term 'MSM' to refer to this group.
Since its launch, the campaign has sparked mixed emotion within the MSM community, with one writer likening their support plan to a "festering wound" which fails to get to the heart of the problem.
The plan, which is the first of its kind from a national body, aims to tackle serious health issues that directly affect MSM such as being "burdened with ill-health", including higher risks of HIV infection.
MSM are also twice as likely, according to a series of studies quoted by PHE, to be diagnosed with depression or anxiety, and twice as likely to be dependent on alcohol than the rest of the male population.
Additionally, the group is likely to suffer from higher rates of cardiovascular disease, asthma and diabetes.
But, despite these health concerns, men who have sex with men are less likely to seek help from health and social care services.
The new plan focuses on three interrelated areas including mental health, sexual health and HIV, as well as alcohol, drugs and tobacco abuse.
HIV-positive gay rights activist and author, Philip Christopher Baldwin, tells HuffPost UK Lifestyle that he welcomes PHE's action plan. He believes it is a "proactive and well-informed attempt by the government to address the needs of the LGBT community".
He adds: "It's clearly a greater issue for gay and bisexual men than their straight counterparts and any measure to combat this issue is welcomed.
"It's important to work towards a society where everyone feels comfortable in who they are, that they feel respected, and that they are confident in accessing health services."
He continues: "I am co-infected with HIV and Hep C and cannot emphasise enough how important it is that everything is done to support the LGBT community, where there are a large number of people living with HIV and where there continues to be a high infection rate.
"I suffered from a period of anxiety and depression towards the end of 2012, which was partly due to my health deteriorating from HIV. Getting back to a point in my life where I was confident and happy took about a year, although now I feel more empowered than ever."
Professor Kevin Fenton, director of health and wellbeing at PHE, said that despite improvements in social acceptance of LGBT people, there are still barriers in accessing health services which need to be addressed.
"This structured programme of action will work with and support the public health system, private and third sector organisations to actively respond to the needs of these communities locally," he added.
But Philosophy student and writer, George Simmonds, says that the move from PHE isn't enough.
"I fear that allowing the LGBT community a greater medical focus would propagate homophobia, in a similar way that immigrants or the elderly are often falsely construed as a strain on public funds."
And, he adds, there are other issues that are cause for concern too.
"The lives of those within the LGBT community are more-or-less dictated by the emotional problems they face as a result of segregation, isolation and homophobia.
"Even those who get by without any diagnosed problems are forced to deal with the social and romantic difficulties that have become part and parcel of LGBT relationships."
He adds that there are reasons why those who identify as MSM are "disproportionately burdened with ill-health" and this boils down to issues in society which urgently require our attention.
"It's all well and good to slam plasters on wounds. It'll stop the bleeding - but festering kills you as surely as blood-loss," he says.
"I suspect this may be a token effort to appease the LGBT community, a treatment rather than a curative. But we need to drive our forces to the heart of the problem.
"Helping people recover is great, but it'd be better if they had nothing to recover from."

The Judgemental Mob Are Out In Full Force Again
The Judgemental Mob Are Out In Full Force Again As Stephen Fry Confirms His Engagement To Elliot Spencer
We humans get outraged at a lot of things. The disabled having the audacity to claim benefits for their illnesses. ADHD not being a 'real condition'. Immigration destroying our economy and taking away our jobs because the internet says it does. Zoella paying a ghost writer to write a book (isn't that what they're for!?) Ed Miliband not eating a bacon sandwich with decent etiquette.
And now apparently, two happily consenting adults getting married is upsetting the anonymous internet mob who clearly live their lives to a predetermined (and questionable) definition of perfection. The source of the sheer horror that is causing mouthfuls of Earl grey tea to be spluttered across Dell Monitors across the land and monocles to crash unceremoniously to the floor after being dislodged from widened eye sockets?
There's an age difference between Stephen Fry and his fiance Elliot Spencer. Ah, that old chestnut (no offence Stephen).
My first thought when the news of the engagement was circulating on Twitter this morning was: "Well, good for them, that's sweet' and other various well meaning but largely inconsequential wishes saved for people I do not know. It's nice to hear of happiness and, as a married man myself, I take nothing but joy in knowing that a couple are taking a journey and having the chance at the same dizzying heights of happiness that I feel every day with my wife.
It also pleases me to see another public figure making use of the long overdue ability to share in the same human rights that all humans have as gay adults; to marry the person they love. Naive me was sitting thinking that each time a bigot struggles to argue against the happy sight of a well known man or woman marrying someone of their own gender and looking (shock, horror!) happy and normal must surely go towards reducing the dark cloud of discrimination that still hangs over gay marriage from a small minority.
But, I forget, we are humans and so, if we fail to find fault with one issue, we'll do our damned hardest to find fault elsewhere.
Stephen Fry and Elliot Spencer have an age gap and a fairly significant one which, in the eyes of a shocking quantity on social media, is akin to the kicking of a fluffy kitten. Quite how it is anybody's business as to the details of the private life of two consenting adults is beyond me but, in something that is out of the control of Stephen (who tweeted that he would have preferred a private wedding), the news has come into public domain and the judgements of the mob mentality who have read no further than a headline have been made. So let's address it.
And it's really simple but read slowly and re-read the sentence if it presents any difficulty in being mentally digested.
Okay, here goes. You ready? People of different ages can get along, become friends and fall in love. Yeah, it really is that simple. It's an age old, cliche line but age really is just a number. Your length of time on the planet should not restrict who you can form bonds with. There are no crimes being committed here, no cause for outrage: we simply have two adults who have fallen in love and want to marry eachother.
Why on Earth would any legitimate human being find a problem with that? Who are they to sit and judge the lives of people they don't know anything about? The judgemental approach to the age gap of adults is as archaic as the outrage over homosexuality and multicultural relationships.
I thought we were starting to develop as a race and become accepting of the fact that love has few boundaries. Gender is not a boundary, race is not a boundary and therefore, the ages of two adults is not a boundary either.
Anyone who is sitting feeling offended that two people are getting married that aren't the same age need to realise that it isn't Elliot who needs to grow up. The problem lies with the bigots.
I can't wait to see Stephen and Elliot prove the trolls wrong and enjoy one of the happiest days of their lives, as equal partners in a loving relationship. Good on you, chaps.

Sir Elton John Marries David Furnish, Shares Wedding Photos On Instagram
Sir Elton John has officially married his long-time partner, David Furnish.
The two entered into a civil ceremony together when they were first legalised in the United Kingdom in 2004, but following the introduction of equal marriage earlier this year, they're now officially a married couple.
Elton and David invited fans to #ShareTheLove with them on Saturday, with an Instagram post that revealed they'd be sharing snaps from throughout their ceremony the next day.
A global icon's wedding photos on our timeline certainly makes a welcome change from the heavily-filtered selfless and photos of salads our friends usually post, at least.
On Sunday, Elton uploaded a picture of them signing their marriage certificate, officially making them a married couple.
They said now that the "legal bit" was done, they could move on to the wedding ceremony, which sounds as though it will be a typically lavish.
It's been reported that among the 50 rumoured guests are some of Elton's A-list friends, such as David and Victoria Beckham, Elizabeth Hurley and Sharon Osbourne, while his two sons, Zachary and Elijah, will act as ring-bearers.
The couple announced their wedding plans back in April, with David saying at the time: "Since we’re committed for life, we feel it's really important to take that step, and take advantage of that amazing change in legislation. We all live by example."

'Cabaret' Actor Joel Grey Comes Out As A Gay Man, Aged 82
‘Cabaret’ actor Joel Grey has spoken publicly about his sexuality for the first time, at the age of 82.
Until now, Joel had always chosen not to disclose details of his sexual preference, but has now revealed in a new interview that he is gay.
Speaking to People magazine, he explains: “I don't like labels, but if you have to put a label on it, I’m a gay man.
“All the people close to me have known for years who I am.”
Joel - who won an Academy Award in 1972 for his role as the Master of Ceremonies in ‘Cabaret’, opposite Liza Minnelli - was previously married for 24 years to Jo Wilder, a time he described as “the happiest” of his life.
Together they have two children, professional chef James and actress Jennifer, best known for her portrayal of Baby in ‘Dirty Dancing’.
Jennifer has praised her father for coming out so late in his life, telling the magazine: “I feel very happy for my dad that he has come to a point in his life where he feels safe and comfortable enough to declare himself in a public way as a gay man.
“Mostly because the more people are free to own their true nature and can hopefully come closer to love and accept themselves as they really are, no matter what age, no matter how long it takes, to finally be free of the lies or half truths, it is freedom.”

What do you advise him
Thisisme29
Hi all,
I would like to start experimenting anal play on myself but don't know anything about that.
I was talking about anal sex with a male friend and women at a bar the other night, and most approaches and "techniques" seem quite similar, no matter the gender.
I know this will sound silly, but I've never really thought about that before. That night, we discussed anal penetration for women, and men. How they started with their fingers, and then a cock, the toys and what they bring, etc.
I am 28yo, quite curious, but have never had anal sex, or penetrated anyone. I would like to explore the prostate stimulation "thing". I've heard many things about this and it seems to procure a lot of pleasure, which I feel ready to start experiencing.
But, I'm too afraid to make a mistake or hurt myself. I'd like to start easy, using just my fingers.
What do you recon I could do, explore, and eventually what toy I could buy to do more?
I could do with some genuine advices now, thank you very much in advance…

Owners who refused cake for gay couple close shop
INDIANAPOLIS — A bakery that drew protests for refusing to prepare a cake for a gay couple has closed its doors.
The 111 Cakery was still profitable, said co-owner Randy McGath. But McGath's 45-year-old wife, Trish, did most of the baking and wanted more time to spend with the couple's four grandchildren.
The business "was wearing her out," her husband said. She has been taking a break from working since Dec. 31 when the bakery went out of business, he said.
In March the McGaths faced a firestorm of protest after declining a request to bake a cake for a commitment ceremony for two men. Same-sex marriage has been legal in Indiana since Oct. 7.
A TV station here broadcast the story of the rejection, and the next day Facebook and Twitter hummed with outrage. The flap led to a single picketer urging a bakery boycott, but many nearby residents were on his side.
The bakery was at the intersection of 16th and Talbott streets, a hub of gay culture for decades. At least three long-established gay bars are just blocks away.
However, others seemed to applaud the bakery's stand, traveling long distances for pastries.
"We had people from all over — from Brownsburg and Lafayette," 15 and 60 miles away, said Randy McGath, 48.
The ensuing sales spike lasted three or four months. But McGath insisted sales never dipped below their pre-flap levels.
McGath said he and his wife, who attend a Baptist church, were well aware of the neighborhood's gay culture when they opened their bakery there in 2012. They served the gay community gladly for several years but "just didn't want to be party to a commitment ceremony" because such an event reflected "a commitment to sin."
Despite McGath's views his discourse remained civil even in talks with his most virulent critic, the lone picketer Todd Fuqua, both he and Fuqua said.
"There was zero hate here," said McGath, who is now selling recreational vehicles. "We were just trying to be right with our God. I was able to speak to many homosexuals in the community and to speak our opinion and have a civil conversation. I'm still in touch with some."

LESBIAN POLITICIAN ATTACKED AT VIENNA GAY PRIDE
Austria's Green MEP Ulrike Lunacek was the victim of an acid attack at the Vienna gay pride event.
Lunacek who is Austria’s first openly lesbian politician having come out in 1980 was attacked whilst conducting an interview at the pride event.
Fortunately for Lunacek, the attacker used the malodorous Butyric acid which whilst unpleasant in odour is not corrosive like most acids.
The liquid damaged her clothes and reportedly caused $50,000 EUR worth of damage to the recording equipment being used for the interview by broadcaster ORF.
The attacker fled the scene and is yet to be apprehended.
Lunacek told media she was "irritated that this happened in Vienna" where gay pride has always been "a joyful celebration for 19 years".
Despite Lunacek’s claims that Vienna Pride is a joyous celebration, it is not without its opponents. Whilst 150,000 people marched around Vienna in celebration, demonstrations in protest of Pride were also taking place, with the Christian ‘March For Family’ taking to the streets to protest LGBTI people and rainbow families.

Ugandan gay people 'abused by police'
Ugandan police harass and physically abuse gay people in custody, a report by a human rights group has said.
Chapter Four Uganda documented several cases of men suspected of being homosexual having intrusive physical examinations.
Homosexual acts are illegal in Uganda and there are plans to introduce new harsher legislation.
Uganda's internal affairs minister said the allegations were not true but his office would look at the findings.
Aronda Nyakairima told the BBC that the Ugandan government did not discriminate against anyone.
Where is is legal to be gay?

The 27-page report entitled Where Do We Go for Justice? said officers routinely refused to look into cases reported by gay men and lesbians. It found several instances when the police instead turned against them because of their sexuality, charging them with crimes such as indecent exposure, sodomy and having sex against the order of nature.
They were harassed into signing false and self-incriminating statements and some of the 21 people interviewed by researchers also talked of being beaten by the police or prison wardens.
Some said they were forced to have their rectums and genitals examined.
People in detention on homosexuality-related charges were also sometimes paraded in front of the media and arbitrarily denied bail, the report said.
Uganda is a deeply conservative society where many people oppose gay rights.
The BBC's Catherine Byaruhanga in the capital, Kampala, says Uganda has come under international pressure in the last few years over attempts to further criminalise sexual minorities.
Last August, an Anti-Homosexuality Act signed by the president in February 2014 was annulled by the Constitutional Court as it said that parliament lacked a quorum when it was passed.
That legislation would have allowed for life imprisonment for "aggravated homosexuality", including sex with a minor or while HIV-positive, and for entering into a same-sex marriage.
It had also proposed a prison sentence of up to seven years or a fine or both for the promotion of homosexuality.
A streamlined version of the annulled legislation is in the pipeline, a government minister told the BBC in November.
