RE: Boys Love Series
@nix54 Oh I liked K2 also. I just started on Descendants of the Sun. You are so right on the last part. This is why I watch a lot more international titles that interest me. It's the culture that one must get to absorb. The West is great but the society definitely is not. There's just so much hatred in it that you don't see in other parts of the world to that extent. People from the West who don't get to travel is very much a part of that society and this is why a lot of them retire in Asian countries. It may not be perfect nor it may not provide you with benefits that you get from their government but here it gives you the simple and peaceful living that one may desire without working oneself to death.
When an Asian goes to the United States, there's a good percentage that they may experience racism, an act of hatred or sheer disrespect. But when an American or any Westerner goes to Asia, it's quite the opposite. You are venerably respected, honoured, celebrated and welcomed. Depending on which country of course but in mine, you definitely will feel the warmness of the people.
Don't include China in what I said though. Majority of mainlanders are rude and boastful especially the ones with money. Japanese people have greatly changed their perspective of tourists in the past years because of Chinese mainlanders who irrespectively desecrate important and sacred places. They don't give shit about other people's culture or way of living. It's the same for any other country here in Asia. We don't like them but they bring the money.
Gosh! I've been talkative again. Ehe.

RE: Boys Love Series
@nix54 Yes, there is always high expectations for Korean dramas. To fail will be quite a shame. There has also been some titles that locals from Korea will reject and boycott if they do not like or go against the norm in a drama show. These titles then are either scrapped or not shown locally. Koreans are critical of their history so shows that are historical must not deviate from what really happened.
I am not much a fan of Korean historical shows but I've watched some. One thing that I did like is The King: Eternal Monarch which is a science fiction / historical thing because two Koreas exist (one from the past and one from the present) and the Korea of today is a Korea where the Korean War did not happen. So there is no North Korea and the monarchy thrived or survived. You might want to watch it. It stars one of the most popular Korean actors.

For us international viewers, we really don't care about this and I personally think that this will only limit creativity. As evident on Japanese anime, they really have no problems like this and this is why the Japanese are able to churn out unlimited stories that uses history or characters from history in their stories.

RE: For all you fans of impenetrable sci-fi.
@nix54 I have yet to watch it yet. Gosh! So many to watch it's making me want to retire already so I could watch everything I want. LOL. I don't even know where I am and which to finish on the previous Japanese anime season and the new animes this season is already in the second week.

@nix54 Love Bill the Vietnamese BL that just finished? I have not watched it yet. I really have not started watching on any new BLs. Been busy lately with my bathroom renovation. To note though. My School President seems to have the cutest couple. I Will Knock You for some funny stuff. Between Us looks very boring. Of course, any South Korean and Taiwanese BLs are always recommendable. Have you seen the previous HIStory series? I'd recommend completing them. HIStory is one of the more popular ongoing series of BL stories.

RE: Boys Love Series
@nix54 Yes, it's quite evident that Korean series and movies try to put in more themes to capture and engage the emotions of more audiences. This is actually the first Korean series I have watched that's got more skin than usual. It's quite rare in a Korean series to see even a shirtless guy. This one didn't even play safe with the bromance moves. The ML does have a nice body.

RE: Boys Love Series
@spence8585 @nix54 I just completed Prison Playbook a while ago. Damn those comedic moments were hilarious. The rectal camera scene on the first episode got my first LOLs. All the prison guards wanted to see a baseball superstar's anus. I enjoyed the series. I just didn't like what they did to Looney when he got out of prison; he was immediately a victim of a bust operation and it's just right out of prison? I think that was a weak point in the whole series but I was happy that Jailbird had a happy ending. The Demon Captain is a crush of mine. He was actually asked by media in a live interview if he is gay. The bromance scenes in this series were so intentional, I like it. Thank you so much for this. I enjoyed the series.

RE: For all you fans of impenetrable sci-fi.
@nix54 Ooooh interesting. I've never watched a Chinese sci-fi series yet. There's a lot of Chinese series or movies and animes that I really want to watch but I avoid them as much as possible because the language really is hard on the ears. I prefer Taiwanese Mandarin if it's anything Chinese. I'll give this a try since it's a sci-fi.
I see that this has just been posted 2 days ago on WeTV - Tencent's streaming platform where I get some Boys Love shows and 2 eps are available for free and 5 eps available for subscribers.
Checking its listing on MyDramaList, it says it will be shown 6 times a week ending on February 14. That means we will not go through an excruciating 30 weeks to finish it. LOL That 9.1 rating will definitely be not the number it will end with as this is fairly new.
There is also a listing for a movie for it with more familiar actors to me especially Zhang Han which is a main lead on the last Chinese series I've watched on Netflix titled Heart To Heart. I like it a lot because the setting is not very Chinese at all which I could say is a very clean movie. Just wondering why the series is titled "Three-Body" while the move is titled "The Three-Body Problem: 1".

RE: How to tell if a Facebook message has been viewed
@lololulu19 Thanks @john32123666
Also there is this function to Mute a contact and another one called Restrict.

RE: How to tell if a Facebook message has been viewed
@lololulu19 It will show the head icon of the recipient under your message. The recipient does have the option to mark the message unread if they do not have the time yet to reply to your message to remove the notion that you were just ignored or "seen".
This applies for the FB Messenger app on either Android or iOS / iPadOS.

RE: Boys Love Series
I know that I have not been too much a fan of Filipino BLs but there are some that I really like.
Hello Stranger. The series is available here in the TV section and part 2 is a movie in the movie section which I have not watched yet.
There is also In Between (Between Hello and Goodbye) (2020), which is not available here yet. A sequel has been announced but there has been no updates for quite some time.
Oh, Mando! Kokoy from Gameboys is partnered with a macho guy who is gay and out in real life.
There's this gorgeous naked guy there which I still can't find who the actor is. Let me know if you do.
Ben x Jim and BXJ Forever.
My Day (2020) has my favourite couple and has the best kiss for me in a Boys Love series. Miko here has a jack-off video. Hehe.
Gaya sa Pelikula (2020) (Like In The Movies)

RE: Boys Love Series
Upcoming series: Tin Tem Jai
Tin has always been secretly in love with Phi Park, Aunt Phavinee's son, who owns a neighbourhood bakery. Park's a simple guy that you can ask whatever you want. But when he's asked out on a date... The answer is, “I'm going to kick you!”

RE: What series are you currently watching?
@djsoapbubble I will. I go there when there's something I really can't find. They surely should.
