Re: What series are you currently watching?
Just watched first episode of The Three-Body Problem now available on Tencent's YouTube channel. Really enjoyed it, seems really faithful to the first novel. Though it is 30 episodes long, I believe they are being shown every weekday night so the wait between episodes might just be bearable. As I like to binge watch anyway I couldn't really deal with watching over 30 weeks.

@nix54 Ooooh interesting. I've never watched a Chinese sci-fi series yet. There's a lot of Chinese series or movies and animes that I really want to watch but I avoid them as much as possible because the language really is hard on the ears. I prefer Taiwanese Mandarin if it's anything Chinese. I'll give this a try since it's a sci-fi.
I see that this has just been posted 2 days ago on WeTV - Tencent's streaming platform where I get some Boys Love shows and 2 eps are available for free and 5 eps available for subscribers.
Checking its listing on MyDramaList, it says it will be shown 6 times a week ending on February 14. That means we will not go through an excruciating 30 weeks to finish it. LOL That 9.1 rating will definitely be not the number it will end with as this is fairly new.
There is also a listing for a movie for it with more familiar actors to me especially Zhang Han which is a main lead on the last Chinese series I've watched on Netflix titled Heart To Heart. I like it a lot because the setting is not very Chinese at all which I could say is a very clean movie. Just wondering why the series is titled "Three-Body" while the move is titled "The Three-Body Problem: 1".

@Rotron I have now watched first 4 episodes. It is very faithful to the book - though I think they have dropped the Cultural Revolution Red Guard era part of the story, we shall see. It will be heavy going though. I don't really see how they can be faithful to the book and keep the viewer on tenterhooks for each episode. As far as I can see on MyDramaList I am the only person who has watched it - at least so far there has been little reaction. It has been suggested that the pent up anticipation resulting in the 100 million audience for the animation has now cooled and with it also the appetite for the drama series.

@nix54 I have yet to watch it yet. Gosh! So many to watch it's making me want to retire already so I could watch everything I want. LOL. I don't even know where I am and which to finish on the previous Japanese anime season and the new animes this season is already in the second week.
