@lololulu19 The quality of torrents and having torrents taken down are not the fault of the website.

Websites operating in the US are required to abide by DMCA Notifications, otherwise the site loses its safe harbor and can be open to liability. Operators of websites are required to take down infringing content in a timely manner.

Something of a mind bend, I just came across a torrent of a torrent ...

I feel like the uploader deserves an infinite amount of seedpoints for putting us into a forever loop where we never actually download the files, we just donwload the torrent that point to the torrent LOL

I don't normally post or visit the forums, so a hello to everyone. I can only speak to my own experiences co-operating a gay public forum, which gets hit with DMCA Notifications every day.

1. Websites are required to comply with valid DMCA Notifications. Website owners that don't comply will not be protected by safe harbor laws, opening them up to much more severe liability.

2. Part of the popularity of GTRU is that much of its torrents are publicly available, which is a double-edged sword. If something is public on Google, that means the torrents can be found by porn fiends AND automated bots.

3. GTRU is one of the biggest gay porn torrent (maybe the largest?). If OnlyFans or performers or their paid DMCA representatives were to repeatedly infringing sites, this would be it.

4. I'm not personally privy to the software behind the automated monitoring methods, but they likely utilize a combination of simple text and image scanning. Some basic obfuscation methods will usually beat the monitoring:

• Word obfuscation: R3n0 G01d vs Reno Gold
• Image obfuscation: flip or rotate the image

Some other thoughts:

• There are categories that are more high-risk for copyright violations than others (like Fansites). I don't know if the torrent site is capable of it, but maybe the site could make certain categories (like Fansites) private and only viewable by members?
• I know some of the uploaders spend a lot of time and effort to put together your torrents. It really is appreciated by the community - thank you!!

I appreciate the staff making sure that torrent uploads are organized in some kind of cohesive manner. I love browsing and finding new and fun torrents, and one of the strengths of GTRU is the extensive collection, but it only works if everything is organized and filterable with clear descriptions, thumbnails, etc.

@dretafari Technically, a site only needs 1 site administrator to keep the site going. One person is sufficient to pay the bills and provide ongoing server maintenance.

The moderation of torrents and the forums probably requires multiple volunteers (and all of their work is much appreciated!). However, I don't think those volunteer moderators would have root access to the server to provide business continuity.

In any case, I also hope that this site stays online for many years to come . I am relatively new to GTRU (but not to gay torrenting!), and I can't believe it took this many years to find this awesome place.

I always love the Big White Boy (because, well, they show some hungry and hung white LOLS) although I agree with some of the sentiments above, some of these are just repackagings of Fansite torrents. It's one thing if these are amateur content packs, rather than already-identified models.

For those 2 sticks, can you quickly explain SSD cache? I'm likely going to buy a 4 bay, and I don't know if SSD cache is even needed, but wanted to get a primer on the benefits of this (if it's something I can utilize).

The router and wifi modem are tucked away in like a utility panel in the wall in my home, which is a new home. (Think: suburban home in Texas). There is absolutely no way that NAS box can fit into that utility panel.
