I've been well above the minimum requirement throughout the period the ratio was showing in dark red, so it looks like there may be a gremlin in the coding somewhere. What seems to have set the ratio colour back to white is the fact that I passed the 250 GB download mark today (unless that's just a coincidence).

That definitely shouldn't occur and likely was a gremlin - perhaps relating to our recent reconfiguration changes.  The system should update the ratio red signal within 10-15 minutes after restoration of the minimum ratio.  Sorry about that!  Glad it reset for you eventually.

The ratio color change helps users to know their ratio is below their minimum ratio requirement; which starts a grace time when download privilege will be lost if not rectified.

To add to the thread's original question - there are two important numbers on the site - how much you use for yourself and how much you share with other users.

Download amount = how much you have used the site.  Longer time and bigger users get to download more per 24 hour period.  It is throttled in the beginning due to cheaters; but can be bypassed with donation.

Ratio = how much you've contributed back to the site.  If minimum ratio requirement is satisfied, you are allowed to continue using the tracker with download.  The higher your ratio above the minimum required means you contributed more to the site and will also get to download more per 24 hour.
