RE: Prep Experience in NYC
They're making a bigger effort to role out PReP to more MSM here in NYC, especially men of color. Go to https://a816-healthpsi.nyc.gov/DispensingSiteLocator/mainView.do;%20jsessionid=F40D924A6853293B0C2F1190349F9AD1 and you'll be able to put in your zip code and find the clinic nearest to you. I've been on it for almost two years now and HIGHLY recommend it. It is easier to get if you are insured. However if you are not there are two prescriptions assistance programs out there that should help you pay for it. They can be found at http://www.gilead.com/responsibility/us-patient-access/truvada%20for%20prep%20medication%20assistance%20program and at https://panfoundation.org/index.php/en/patients/assistance-programs/hiv-prevention-and-treatment
Feel free to ask any other more specific questions you have.

RE: The Daily Mail is now claiming gay marriage caused Brexit
You all seem to be REALLY underestimating reactionary bigotry. When a majority group has moderate feelings of hate for a minority group and sees that group succeed in any way (which feels intrinsically threatening to them) it causes a backlash. This is not even complex sociology. The statement is MORE than reasonable that Brexit is the result of what the provinces saw as liberalism (immigration and gay marriage as examples) that did not align with their beliefs. Notice how the votes fell. The more metropolitan areas voted progressively and the provinces voted regressively. The exact same reactionary bigotry is taking place here in America. Some seem to be under the impression that just because marriage equality was achieved that people aren't still really REALLY angry about it. There anger goes so far that it pushes them into even deeper conservatism. You can only push a pendulum so far before it inevitably must go back the other direction. And that is what is happening in America and Britain. My concern is more in how this type of renewed separatist nationalism (on the part of the USA and the UK) might push us into a third world war, in the past it starts with these type of events.

RE: Stalked:
Unfortunately…I have. I highly recommend an order of protection (based on where you live. I live in NYC). Also (unfortunately) that OOP will do a little bit of nothing...and actually might further incite your stalker. After I got one my stalker sent letters to everyone in my neighborhood saying god knows what (I chose not to look). The police don't take it particularly seriously until something violent is actually done to you. It going to sound trite but what worked for me was trying to ignore them and not give them the reaction that they wanted. They want a connection to you and have your emotions riled up. What is upsetting is the use of outing you to others (which I was told was in the letters they sent to my neighbors). Stay strong, dude. I've been there. It is not a fun time. I hope it passes.

RE: HBO Cancels "Looking"
Meh. I feel absolutely no sense of loss whatsoever. The characters were mostly bland and boring at best (aside from Daniel Franzese's character) and the prose dragged without anything entertaining to keep viewers interested. Not only did QAF have better paced story lines but it also had constant ever changing eye candy by way of the HDGBs at Babylon. And QAF got very political very fast. Looking seemed scared to want to do so (likely trying to entertain all and afraid to alienate anyone) and that was likely apart of its downfall. QAF kicked in the door hard from the first episode. Lets deal with the reality of older men dating/wanting younger men. Showtime had to put up a disclaimer. That's how you make a buzz. When Looking finally got to a fairly charged topic (the use of PReP) it seemed too scared to really touch it. In fairness, exploring the notion of serosorting withing a relationship was interesting as well but notice how it centered around Daniel 's character. The only person who truly was a character and not just playing a very dull version of themselves. And on a last note people keep speaking about "ALL" the diversity in the show. Seemed pretty white washed to be honest. Further, it was handled in the most white washed way. Was there ever any conflict around the TWO LONG TERM interracial relationships that took place in the show? Perhaps…but we'd never know it mattered. It had a very colorblind/we're all the same feel to it. Not only is that inaccurate, a dangerous notion to push forward but also plain boring to watch. The conflicts in the show never even elevated to high school drama. It was junior high school drama at best.
There was just no fun looking at Looking. Next.
