Unlike liberals, I can have a mind of my own. I'm not part of the Borg.
I support the cop in the Michael Brown incident. "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" was a total lie. I support the cop(s) in several cases, that liberals get butt hurt over.
That being said, Qualified Immunity has turned the police into assholes running amuck.
38.02 is the Texas Penal Code for the ID law. It clearly says that you do not have to ID unless you have been lawfully arrested. Of course, this excluding driving. ID laws are the most common thing police deal with, no matter where they are. The storage thing is, it seems like not a single cop knows the laws for ID.
Instead of watching cheesy sitcoms, try turning on YouTube and search Law Enforcement and binge on that. If yu like local news, there's plenty of it for you. Dirty cop after dirty cop, hiding behind QI.
The laws in most states allow dirty cops to resign and keep their pensions, then get a job at another department.
In most, if not all of Europe, the police have Absolute Immunity.
In Scotland, the police rarely find the ruling party to have committed any crimes, I've mentioned a few of these here before.
Cops have been caught, on camera, doing clearly illegal things and their internal affairs investigations almost always find no wrongdoing.
The UK's 2nd highest cop was caught with kiddie porn on her phone. She was convicted but given her job back. We talked about that here.
