I hate to appear insensitive, but I've had this happen to me on each torrent site I belong to.  I've seen people have a ratio of 3.0 and higher before I get a 1.0 for that torrent.  It's simply a matter of, they have a faster connection than you do.  Then again, they may pay extra for having a faster connection.  They should hardly be penalized for that.  If your ISP offers you a faster connection and you don't choose to pay for it, that's simply a choice you make.

As for me, if I upload a torrent, I just leave it running for as long as possible until the number of seeds greatly outweighs the number of leeches, even to the point of leaving my PC running all night while I'm asleep.  When I'm no longer providing a significant ratio of upload traffic, I kill it.

As for twinkletoes' suggestion of not using "initial seeding", I've never considered doing that.  I guess my main goal is more oriented toward getting the most people a copy of the video in the quickest way possible.  Then again, that may stem from my impatient side feeling what it's like to be waiting for a 100% copy.

Again, sorry to appear insensitive, but it's just a matter of life.  Some people have better situations than us.  Some not so.  We just have to realize that and live with it.

In addition only Power User can actually make use of invites and you are not yet Power User.

If I am not mistaken, registration of new accounts is currently open. Even if not, usually it is open the first day of a month, just tomorrow. So tell your friend to try to register tomorrow.

Heck, I wish I'd known about the 1st of the month rule.  Every time I came to this site, I just got a message saying it was by invite only.

It was me that removed it. I have this thing about people asking for seed bonus points in a torrent upload. When I see it, I remove the begging. Call me a prick if you must, but I just think torrents look better without begging for SBP

Well, my real goal is to garner enough bonus to exchange for an invite.  I have a friend who would love this site.  And he always maintains a respectable ratio.  Once I have that, I'll gladly donate to others in the future.

Just ask any mod that is online to search for you.  Any of us would be happy to do that to save your time of creating a duplicate torrent.

Another option is to just wait the three weeks you have left before being promoted to a power user to upload to the DVD-R category.

I guess it wasn't TOO funny, cuz it was removed from a torrent I just uploaded.  Oh well…back to the whoring, er drawing board.  >:D

While I can understand now allowing regular users to download DVD files, does it make sense that they aren't even allowed to have them show up in search results?

Case in point:  Today, I uploaded a DVD-R of "Stud Tops Twink Bottoms".  Went to tlavideo and gathered all the info (categories, box covers, etc), ripped all the files to my hard drive, and created and uploaded the torrent, text, and pics.  Then, about two hours later, I got a message saying my torrent was denied because it was a duplicate.

Now, if that had shown up in the search I performed before creating the torrent, I could have saved myself that time, as well as that of the moderator in searching and verifying the torrent already existed.

Since there are so many ways that users' are blocked from downloading, couldn't the server be tweaked to allow users to see those files, but not download them till they become a Power User?  It would save time and effort on both sides of the tracker.

Just a thought…other than that, can't wait for the two more weeks till I do become a Power User.
