    • Travis judge rules Texas gay-marriage ban unconstitutional

      A Travis County judge ruled Tuesday that the Texas ban on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional, but there was no rush to the altar after county officials — scrambling to understand the impact of the judge’s 3 p.m. order — decided against issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, at least for now.
      Travis County Probate Judge Guy Herman ruled as part of an estate fight in which Austin resident Sonemaly Phrasavath sought to have her eight-year relationship to Stella Powell deemed to have been a common-law marriage. Powell died last summer of colon cancer.
      Travis County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir, who praised Herman for his ruling, said she will confer with county lawyers to determine her options.
      “I am scrambling, trying to find out if there is anything I can do. Right now, I think it’s no, but we are checking,” said DeBeauvoir, who in the past has said that she was ready to begin distributing marriage licenses to same-sex couples as soon as allowed by the courts.
      Michael Knisely, the lawyer for the siblings who opposed Phrasavath’s claim, said no decision has been made on whether to appeal.
      Attorney General Ken Paxton declined an offer to be party to the case and thus is not in a position to appeal.

      “Our office is reviewing today’s ruling from Travis County,” Paxton spokeswoman Cynthia Meyer said.

      Herman’s ruling came after an hourlong hearing in the Travis County Courthouse. Phrasavath challenged the constitutionality of the prohibition on gay marriage as a first step toward establishing her relationship as a common-law marriage.

      Phrasavath and Powell began living together in Austin shortly after Phrasavath proposed in 2007, leading to a marriage ceremony that, though not recognized under Texas law, was performed one year later by a Zen priest in Driftwood southwest of Austin.

      Travis County courts became involved after Powell died without a valid will in June, eight months after she was diagnosed with colon cancer, leading to a legal fight over her estate between Phrasavath and two of Powell’s siblings.

      “It was never about property rights or about property,” Phrasavath said after the hearing. “At least for me, it was about standing up for my relationship and my marriage. If I didn’t do that, I would absolutely have no voice.”

      Phrasavath said she didn’t enter court intending to break new legal ground.

      “The alternative was to be silent and do nothing,” she said. “I can’t imagine anyone being married for 6 or 7 years, then having to walk away after losing their spouse and feel like the marriage never happened.”

      @hhsq:

      kumar777, I am quite shocked by some things you are saying about fems and flamboyance. But I'm trying to be understandful. Here is a piece of advice, if you are open to it, of course - which I belive, you may be -: work on your judgements. Think about them. Think about how they could aply to you and hurt you. Think about how they are directed thowards people who feel, who suffer, who laugh, who are people, like everyone else. Empathy, I believe, is the right word for it, and the right thing to pursue. Besides, those people don't shame the gay movement, they don't make it feel weaker. Femininity is not a synonym for weakness. The sheer fact that they are men who act in a feminine way in a super conservative country makes them VERY strong! Think about that!
      Apart from that, I wish you luck on dealing with your dificulties. We all here, in one way or another, have our dificulties, no matter where in the World we are.

      You are right. It is so wrong of me to label people so easily. Its their way of life and I should respect it

      @GabrielK:

      And I feel bad seeing straight acting gays who are cocksucking others in public restrooms.

      Who puts you in a position of being allowed to judge others, Kumar?

      You are right, I don't have the right to be so judgmental.

      @Gr1zz:

      Did this "cop" offer any proof that he was actually a real policeman?

      There are some sickos who get their jollies from harassing others, and the feelings of power they have over others.  (While some of them may actually be police, the vast majority of them are not)

      Well, he did not show me his badge and he had his personal motorbike. You may be right. I am making every effort not to go cruising for sex. I really wanna emigrate to a more lgbt friendly country like Canada in 2 - 3 years time. For the time being, looking for a job and going for postgraduate studies.

      I concede that I am being harsh by using the derogatory term fems. Its true that I have had a rather religious upbringing. And after suffering years of bullying, name calling starting from high school, I make great effort to be straight acting. I have just completed my degree in mathematics and intend to go for still higher studies. I feel bad seeing feminine guys tarnishing lgbt community and making us feel weak and less capable by acting more feminine and flamboyant than chicks.

      @MrMazda:

      I can understand where you're coming from. There's one thing that I will say to that though. NEVER stop being yourself. If people are going to look down at you or otherwise stare, I say make it worth their while. More often than not, men who act all homophobic are actually in denial that they do have at least some sexual attraction to men themselves, but are too ashamed to admit it to anyone for some reason. If they're gonna stare, give them something to stare at hehe….

      That being said, I would take it as a compliment that such people notice you. That generally is a sign of interest, even though you may not necessarily be interested in them.

      I seriously intend to emigrate to Canada in roughly two years time. From what I have researched on the internet, Canada generally is more accepting of lgbt folks. You confirm?

    • Stop cruising restrooms

      Hi all, I live in Mauritius - a rather conservative, homophobic country. When I wanna hookup with other guys, I cruise restroooms. Today itself, I got sucked by a guy. After that I returned to same restroom to jerk off with another man . And I returned after 2 - 3 hours, where I let myself to be jerked off by another guy. I am now feeling bad for my lewd behaviour. Also, one thing which really pissed me off and made myself think that I am risking shaming my family and myself on being caught is that as I was walking alone, a group of three flamboyant fems sitting outside the restroom started calling me handsome, and to come talk with them. I looked down and went away. That was very embarrassing to know that such sissies know that I am gay. I feel so bad. Imagine that one day, I am in the company of friends or family and I get such unwelcome advances from effeminate gays in front of them.

    • Federal judge in Alabama orders county to wed gay couples

      MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — A federal judge in Alabama has ordered Mobile County to start issuing gay marriage licenses.

      U.S. District Judge Callie Granade made the ruling after a brief hearing Thursday.

      Granade overturned the state's ban on gay marriage last month and the U.S. Supreme Court refused to stop gay marriages from beginning Monday

      Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore issued an 11th hour order telling probate judges in the state they didn't have to hand out licenses, causing confusion. Many probate judges, including the one in Mobile County, refused to issue marriage licenses to gay couples.

      Some judges wouldn't give out licenses to anyone, including heterosexual couples.

      Hundreds of gay couples have wed in Alabama this week, the 37th state to allow same-sex marriages.

    • RE: Do other guys also have stretch marks?

      @ciremage:

      Some people get them when their muscles expand/shrink.
      I have some of the side of my ass.

      Try using cocoa butter lotion after you get out of the shower everyday. It may help reduce the marks, or prevent more from developing.

      Thanks. Will give it a try.

    • RE: What would you do if you fall into love with a straight man

      When I was still in school, I was in love with my best friend who is 100% straight. I knew it but couldn't help myself. However, when he would flirt with girls, I would be so jealous and would have tantrums. He didn't understand and I was the only one who suffered. One day, I told him how I felt, he wouldn't accept that I am gay, we eventually stopped hanging out. As of today, I am happy that it ended, it was a one sided relationship where I expected too much from him.

    • RE: Anal sex and hemorrhoids

      @MrMazda:

      Speaking from experience, if you should discover that you have a problem with hemorrhoids, I would suggest the use of Annusol in the cream format instead of the suppository format. That has always worked wonders for me, moreso than Preperation H.

      Before having anal sex, I do an enema, finger myself to help make penetration easier and use a lot of lube. I must admit that I can't get enough of being fucked in the butt. Love it. In case of having haemorrhoids, I will try Annusol. Thanks.

    • RE: Outlawing all religions (the sooner the better)

      Sharia should be outlawed in any civilized country. It is the antithesis of democracy and considers non muslims as being inferior / sinners due to them not adhering to islam. And most important, homosexuality is punishable by death according to this obsolete, medieval law. With due thought, I have reached to the conclusion that islam promotes hate against us, bloodshed and war.

    • Slovakia referendum to strengthen same-sex marriage ban fails

      From BBC NEWS EUROPE
      A referendum intended to strengthen a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage and same-sex adoption in Slovakia has failed due to low turnout.
      Only 21.4% of those eligible voted, the national statistics office said on Sunday, well short of the 50% required for the ballot to be valid.

      Voters were asked three questions including whether marriage can only be a union between a man and a woman.

      Slovakia's population of 5.4 million people is predominantly Catholic.

      Liberals and gay rights activists welcomed the outcome. They had encouraged people to boycott the referendum.

      Over 90% of those who did vote backed the 2014 constitutional amendment which defines marriage as a union of a man and a woman, effectively banning same-sex unions and adoptions.

      They also supported the right for children to skip classes involving sex education and euthanasia.

      Anton Chromik of the Alliance for Family which had spearheaded the referendum said he was delighted that a clear majority of voters who had participated supported the Alliance.

      "We will continue our struggle to protect the family," he said as the low turnout became apparent.

      Conservatives fear that although the gay marriage ban remains in place, it is being undermined by liberal policies spreading eastwards from western Europe.

      EU rules allow each of the bloc's 28 members to pass their own laws on issues like marriage and adoption.

      While several west European countries have legalised same-sex unions, some eastern EU members have taken a more conservative line.

      Croatia held a similar referendum in 2013, backing a proposal to ban gay marriage, while in neighbouring Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor Orban has championed traditional family values.
