@cp2000 For as valid as your experience and arguments might be, presenting them as a response to a debate that didn't start here and that we don't have access to doesn't incite to start the same discussion here. Maybe framing it as a broader question, rather than just presenting your experience, would make it easier for others to jump in.

RE: Question about star ratings.
the whole star system is pointless and stupid because it does not explicitly indicates if what is being rated is the content or the distribution itself.
Some people use the stars to rate the content, how well it fits their expectations, or how they rate the production value (framing, lighting, image quality etc), some people use it to indicate that the content is faithful to what is advertised in the torrent page.
Some people will download a torrent, not like it, and still give 5 stars because it has good previews, good description, thumbnails included, etc.
There will be torrents where the uploader has clearly put a lot of effort, and it will be rated poorly because someone didn't like the actor, or because it lacked cum scenes, or they look too bored, etc...
Long story short, it was a lazy implementation that to this day nobody really cared enough to bother fixing its problems and making it useful.
tl;dr: don't waste your time looking at ratings.

RE: What are best practices for making a torrent freeleach?
@Richiroma you need to upload roughly 3 TB to go from 0.93 to 1.1
I don't know how many bonus points you have but I suspect it won't even tickleheck, since i joined in 2017 i have only uploaded 4 TB lol
-
RE: What are best practices for making a torrent freeleach?
@Richiroma the thing is, fixing your ratio can be really hard depending on how much you have downloaded.
If you have downloaded 100GB and uploaded 10GB (therefore 0.1 ratio), uploading 100 GB would be enough to increase your ratio to 1.1. And it would be very easy to extrapolate this, and upload 200 GB, going to 2.1.
But if you have downloaded a lot more, let's say 2TB... Uploading 200 GB will be just 0.1. A pretty negligible number, despite the effort needed to upload 200 GB.
The first thing you need to do is check your numbers, have a good idea of how much you need to upload to achieve a ratio that is satisfactory to you.
If it turns out to be a big value, there is no easy way, and uploading your own torrents will be the fastest and most reliable approach.
As you have pointed yourself, freeleech torrents have a high demand, this means you are competing for the opportunity to seed. If you spend your own points to make torrents freeleech, you are contributing to increasing the ratio of all other seeders, and you might never get to seed it yourself, or seed only a small fraction.

RE: Making a Seeding Server (Requesting Tips/Advice)

-
RE: Resdsed Request Please ??
@tommykrenke it doesnt need a re-seed, it has many seeders. you can try to request a freeleech here: https://community.gaytorrent.ru/topic/61578/seedbonus-pooling-to-make-torrents-freeleech
make sure to make it clear that you're requesting a freeleech because of the torrent size

RE: Porn and Masturbation -- Not a Bad Habit
@romantyke i am your antithesis!
i am aromantic, meaning i often don't feel any connection with sex partners other than the physical attraction. to me all attraction towards my partners come from what i see, smell, and of course from whatever i project onto them, which is inevitable. once i start to know them more intimatelly, i still find them physically attractive, but sexually i lose all interest, because that stranger who could be everything I crave no longer exists.
on the matter of masturbation, i share the same habit, but i would not go as far as calling it an addiction, it really is merely a habit. it's simply the activity i chose to spend my free time, but when i am doing something else i don't feel any urge to go back home and masturbate, if i stay several days without doing it it will not cause my body to start shaking uncontrollably or drop my pants and start doing it out of nowhere... so not fair to call it an addiction imo.
just like you, i am pretty happy with this habit, i could have a more balanced sex life, but it costs money to go out and meet people, and it can be emotionally draining, so i only do it very occasionally when i'm really feeling like it.

RE: Making a Seeding Server (Requesting Tips/Advice)
@noelburgundy welp, i'm afraid you're stuck with FDM for life, in that case
FDM doesn't store the torrent files, like regular clients do. I think all FDM stuff is stored in a SQL database, so you cannot swiftly migrate to a different client.
If your collection is not as extensive YET, I believe it is best to go through the effort of moving to a proper torrent client. If you have a backup of the torrent files, you're halfway done.
If you have the torrent files, with qbittorrent you can mass-import them to a predetermined folder. If all your GT downloads are stored in a single place, setting that place as the default path will automatically check the files and start seeding. This is the best case scenario.
Resuming, if all your stuff is stored in the same exact folder and you have a backup of the torrent files, it can be done automatically.

RE: which movie is this from?
@spiffyweasel-0 it's this scene: https://twinktop.com/videos/stepping-up-ethan-tate-chapter-3.html
It is not available here, in fact I couldn't find the full scene anywhere, there is a 8-min clip on Pornhub but it's worse than nothing: https://www.pornhub.com/view_video.php?viewkey=6508291dc6fd0

RE: Freeleech
@tommykrenke it is a simple as checking the tracker status to see if the torrent is still up or if it was deleted, you don't have to ask anything to anyone, just open your client and see for yourself. if it says working, then the torrent is up, if it says unregistered, it was deleted and won't download.

RE: Making a Seeding Server (Requesting Tips/Advice)
@noelburgundy it's not really about why you're doing it, but how you're doing it. what client are you currently running your torrents on? are you going to move to a different client for the server.
If you're sticking to the same client, you can make a backup of the torrent files and settings, then it's simply a matter of mirroring the directories of the previous storage.
If you are moving to a different client, it can be trickier. Some clients allow mass-loading torrents to a predetermined location, so you can still move all your torrents without having to add one by one.
For a more detailed assistance I need you to tell me which client you're using and which client you will be using in your server.
