Actually, I think he probably did notice.  Now Gays are a tiny minority compared to other groups, but the Church does respond over time.  Women are lectors, girls are altar servers (altarboys) and not much is said.  They wouldn't dare, in USA anyhow.  The donations would drop off too much and there would be too much protest.

I certainly understand what you are driving at; especially the part  "sacred texts are only that because they were sacred yesterday."  Where I think your logic falls apart is that we know better today, communication is much more accessible by 100 million fold by in speed and quanitity, the whole world is literate in comparison and yet we do as bad or worse as the ancients.  We pollute with abandon, consume and waste with amazing rapidity; starvation used to be a problem now for "civilized" societies it is obesity! We can destroy the entire planet with nuclear weapons.... In fact with globalization, I would hazard a guess that if we tried to "make a brand new philosophy today" it would be hijacked by international powers with money.  At least in ancient times, things spread very slowly out of the region of origin.

The basic message of Jesus to love one another and forgive is as difficult today as it ever was and it is something to strive for.  For example, some people "love humanity" but have a hard time getting along with their next door neighbor!

Yes, Raphjd - that happens every day at my job.  The letters sent out by my office couldn't be more clear and when  the people call in, I end up explaining the same thing five times and STILL they argue.  However, the education level of these people generally is far lower than the people who frequent this site.  Uploading and downloading torrents is far more complicated than most of the people I deal with could do.  Heck I can't even upload!  And I am reading everything !  But if my idea is more trouble than it is worth, I surely can understand.  Thanks for considering it.

guys –-- how did we get to ripping DVD's and VTS folders?  I asked about upgrading the search engine so all users can see all titles.  That's it.

Well, sorry guys, as usual, I read the link provided by Tiptoe and all the other stuff here on this thread and it mostly doesn't light on my question. I get the part about "greediness" of new members but this doesn't address why all titles can't come up on a search engine.   If anyone wants to cite specifically, I'd appreciate it.

This may be all moot - my ratio went from 0.815 to  0.816 and that is with probably about  three fourth's of a day or more of only seeding- and I can't seem to figure out to upload an entire DVD file.......

I have been on this site a long time and did not realize you had to be a power user for certain titles/entire DVD's to even show up on a search.

What I envision is searching for a particular title, seeing it is here, but one must be a power user to get it.  (the listing could be appropriately flagged to indicate one must be a power user to download it.  Similar to how buttons are inactivated on seed bonus page if you don't have the required number) and then the user would have an incentive to increase their ratio.  Thanks for considering this.

That big DVD rental place starting with "N" has a disk set believe it or not "Everything you wanted to know about Gay Porn Stars but were afraid to ask."  I think there are three total, I dont' remember which one, 2nd or 3rd had a big segment that was mostly an on the telephone interview with Harlow Cuadra (the guy that is in prison for the murder of Brent Corrigan's manager/producer.)  That was one sided, in favor of Harlow, but I digress.

They also spoke about oddly, how the bareback performers get paid less, not more.  And even if the law didn't require it, (which I don't know why it doesn't)  if I had a porn company, I would require the performers to be tested myself.  It doesn't cost that much.  Watching this video gives me conflicted feelings.  I really like porn of course, but I feel bad that the producers take such advantage of the performers.  They make plenty of money and should pay royalites.  Period.

I realize this is long after the original post (got the red warning text asking if I was sure I wanted to comment since it has been more than 120 days since anyone else posted) well, since the Bible has been around for thousands of years, I guess I can comment after 120 days..   I write the following assuming the reader has already read above posting(s) otherwise some of it won't make much sense.

Mostly I wanted to comment on paragraph 7 (not counting your introductory "NOTE") - there are many interesting points to consider in your post, but to say all the men were homosexual or bisexual or that the homosexual rape argument doesn't make sense:  a Bible thumper conservative Christian would brush all that aside and say "it doesn't matter if they were bisexual or what-have-you, the point they get out of this is that homosexual sex is wrong in addition to all the other stuff. (I've argued with enough of them, you just can't get through)

If you watch "For the Bible Tells me so" many Gay friendly clergy/Bible Scholars even assert what you dismiss, that the men of Sodom wanted sex with Lot.  I disagree, based on several of the points such as Jesus never mentioned homosexuality and I think this is the first time I heard Sarah and Abraham didn't know about it until the following morning.  The "to know" argument doesn't even need to rest on interpretations or other usages in the Bible.  One MUST think of the times - people didn't have cars and lived in the same area for their entire lives.  They were very suspicious and clannish - gosh, you think little old ladys in your neighborhood are nosy and peek through the curtains to spy in the present - these ancient folks were downright paranoid and super distrustful of any outsiders.  Basic human nature for thousands of years.  As to Lot offering his daughters to the crowd -  the status and safety of male guests took high priority over women, which were considered almost worthless at this time.  The offering of women to the angry mob is other places in the Bible too.

I was unaware also of the mistranslation of the "men of sodom" should have been "people of sodom."  Actually there are surely mistranslations, but at the same time this is constantly said when people disagree so all I can say is I am not a language scholar, so I couldn't say for sure.

Perhaps most importantly, per Scholar Peter Gomez, in "For the Bible Tells me so" is that the homosexual angle didn't appear for centuries  - meaning the fact people think that has always been the interepretation is dead wrong…. another basic human nature failing - we always think our generation knows it all and no knowledge came before us!

It was late on a weeknight at the golf course, starting to get dark. Two straight guys Sam and Steve were behind two Gay guys, Gary and Glen. I can't agree more with the sentiments of those who say while they live in countries other than the USA, it is sad that we Americans talk a lot about freedom, but seemingly have less and less of it than they do.  Freedom is not just for those you agree with!  That concept should not be that difficult to grasp even for a bigot.  Taken to the logical conclusion, if the power dynamic completely shifts and liberals gain control, they could theoretically silence the bigots.  The bigots of course never realize this; never realize the Constitution gives them the freedom to believe/worship/vote as they choose and they are always the first to deny freedoms to others (Same Sex Marriage for example).  And a side note - even if you are not all that comfortable with Gays, I just don't see how a SSM affects your male/female marriage in any way.  I just don't and in all the debates, no one has made an argument to prove that assertion.  They will say things like "it's not a good example for the children."  What, every child will now turn Gay because they see two men married?  I WISH I had 100% of the male population to choose from!

Although we in the USA are far from where we should be on Gay Rights, we've come a long way;  I read an article - I think it was "The Nation" and they were quoting an official US State Dept memo from the 1970's and if it didn't use the word "faggot" (which I think it did), it was something almost as offensive.  I was absolutely amazed.  I didn't think the 1970's were the stone age.  Still, that would never happen today, thankfully.

Not sure what you mean about "what sauce".  This recipe makes  "sausage" patties just like you would have if you ordered breakfast, eg. Pancakes & sausage.  No there are no pan drippings, that is why they are healthier and why you have to add oil.
