    • RE: Kevin Spacey comes out after being accused of sexual harassment 30 years ago

      @flozen:

      In light of Rapp's allegations, and Spacey's non-denial and "if I was drunk" defense, the very notion that ol' Kevin  has "chosen" this moment to come out is offensive, and he is reaping the whirlwind of social media disgust.

      Comng out?  To the blind?  As just one facet, he has taken a bevy of m-u-c-h younger men to the Emmys and Oscars…

      http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2016/09/19/05/388E15D800000578-0-image-a-107_1474260075828.jpg

      I enjoy Spacey's acting and choice of film roles – eternally grateful for putting Gwynnie's head in that infamous box -- but I am no fan of the 26-on-14 age associated with the alleged past events.

      I'd be the first person to look for capital punishment over abusing a minor but what bugs me about this is:

      1. Thirty years ago. He didn't actually rape the boy, he hit on him in an aggressive manner. If there were multiple people coming out saying he was actively raping 14-year-olds, that'd be a different matter.

      2. What are his accusers saying he did? Is this a George W. Bush pat on the behind or physically holding a person down to touch their genitals? We don't know. We just know that people know he was a creep but there's no law against being a dirty old man.

      3. People change. This is less about Stacey than about these accusations from decades past. There is no way to substantiate them. Even if 1000 people come forward, it's not proof. There's the famous case of the director for Jeepers Creepers. He molested a 13-year-old. The story says it was consensual, meaning he didn't physically attack the boy but took advantage of him. That also happened about 30 years ago and people boycotted his most recent film because of it. I think that's wrong, just as it is wrong to convict a man in the court of public opinion like they're doing with Stacey.

      Had he done this in 2016, yeah, I'd be on board but 30 years ago?

      As for his coming out, he's obviously deflecting but unless we've become God we shouldn't be judging him.

      You mean ground dead trees with chemicals printed on it? No, no, no. If it's not a digital publication I won't touch it.

      TPBM reads The Economist.

      You need both but I'm more a thinker.

      I should and I did. That's pretty cool.

      You should watch a horror movie because it's Halloween.

      @Frederick:

      @cteavin:

      They used that in South Park for Tweek's cupcakes. (I still need to show that episode to my kids.)

      By kids, I assume you are talking about your students.
      It also reminds me of one art teacher I had in high school.

      Well, since it's Halloween here today and the kids were riding a massive sugar high in costume I had fun scaring them with clips from Juon and Ring before lightening the mood with Tweek, Craige, and Kim Jon Un – they loved South Park. I might show them clips from the episode where it's Japanese who decide who's gay.

    • Is Cory Feldman responsible to lead a charge against pedophilia in Hollywood?

      https://grabien.com/story.php?id=136127

      Some will call it victim blaming others will say that his name is out there and he's already on record, so he should follow the current flow and release the names publicly.

      What do you think?

      I'm on the fence. On the one hand, pedophilia is the worst crime imaginable, worthy of the death penalty. At the same time, unless he has evidence it's only he said/he said and giving license to bring up old grievances.

      With social media, really neither, anymore. But I do like the sound of farewell.

      I shouldn't because it's the easiest one point you can make.  ;D

      You should consider starting a new game.

      I wish I did but I never had the patience to spend the time in school – I wanted money, and I wanted it now.

      Hell no! At night I take a bath starting at 41 degrees and increasing the temperature up to 44 or 45 – feels amazing. In the morning, if I don't take a bath I take a very hot shower.

      You should pamper yourself more.

      Kinda. I had a sewing machine and I could mend clothes but I was terrible at it.

      OK, I get it now.

      They are using it on SJW protesters.

      Actually on them as in going to the events and driving? I'm down with that.

      It's not that cold but I should have a nice tall cup of ginger tea tonight.

      You should go shopping for winter clothes.

      Really depends on the artist and/or the content. In general, I'll go for full-color anything.

      No, I shouldn't. I always use my computer or tablets. Better for the environment.

      You should check out Kevin Spacey who just came out. Yum.
