That's quite a remarkable figure for STD susceptibility - Could you point to the source for it?  I think it bears investigating more closely.

As for the foreskin being a germ trap, assuming a fully retractable foreskin, washing takes less time than it generally takes to wash balls.  No special thoroughness is needed.  Of course if the foreskin is tight, that's it's own problem as mentioned in my previous post and it would be wise to see a decent doctor about it. The reason for not using soap is that there's a little ecosystem of protective bacteria in there which are benign to us, but actively fight off other bacteria. Using soap can knock these out and leave a guy a bit susceptible to some infections.

After having said that, I'm bad at washing with just water and usually clean in the shower with whatever I'm using on the rest of my body.  In my 52 years, I've never had any problems whatever with my cock.  More than that, I don't think I've ever known anyone I know to have had a problem beyond a standard STD, and with most people I know, we talk openly about such things.

I agree with all of the above, especially Robert Kirkman.  My vote would go to Ty Olsson.

Wow! You really don't know anything about Macs.

The PC initial purchase price is typically lower but the TCO of a Mac is way lower, as their effective lifetime is far longer than that of a PC.

The hardware in a Mac is selected and designed to operate together as a consistent whole, rather than with a PC, there are a phenomenal number of possible combinations of hardware, much of which causes conflicts which simply don't exist on any Mac platform.

Wanna give a reason why you think the software is better?  As a developer of many years on both platforms, I can tell you that where developing anything other than trivial software for Windows (I'm assuming you're not talking Linux here) is a pain in the backside, developing for Mac is a real pleasure.

So you 'improve' your hardware regularly?  It sounds a lot like you're the one trying to impress your friends.  Macs are upgradable too you know.

Add to all of these things, the reliability of Mac OS, the free OS upgrades, the simplicity of installing and removing software - on a Mac you can really remove the software, not just get rid of the superficial traces - and the superb support available for Apple products, and Macs beat PC for most taks, hands down.

Oh, I forgot to mention that Mac OS is built on the superbly stable and thoroughly tested foundation of UNIX, and is designed in a manner which makes writing viruses and malware far less easy; not impossible, but far less easy; making it entirely possible to run a Mac safely with just the built-in security with no need for virus protection and the like that's just a way of life on Windows.  The machine i'm using is 6 years old, still going strong, not in need of replacement or upgrade and hasn't crashed in any way, even once in the whole time I've had it.  Can't beat that.

It's easy these days to say 'Oh, we have effective treatments so HIV & AIDS is nothing to worry about'. It still kills people - it is scary!  Not everyone has access to the treatments, the treatments aren't effective for everyone, and even for someone who is HIV positive and responds well to the treatment, they still have a chronic disease.

It's important though that if we are scared of HIV & AIDS, we're informed and scared. Knowledge and understanding of how the virus is transmitted lets us put fear into perspective, and make rational fact based decisions about or activity.

Some of these dumb replies make me think we've slipped back 30+ years.  Back then, the hysterical overreaction to HIV while still ridiculous was at least in small part mitigated by how little we know about how the virus spreads, and the arguments about whether HIV was the true cause of AIDS.

These days, we know in great detail how the virus works, we know conclusively that it is responsible for AIDS and we have huge amounts of data about the transmission risk of any activity you can dream up.  We also have supplementary caveats, as have been mentioned, about risk enhancers like compromise to the integrity of the inside of the mouth and the like.

Those who throw their hands up in horror at the thought of having sex with someone with HIV really should get expert advice and get the idea of risk into perspective.

The key word when we describe people with HIV, isn't "HIV", it's "people". Perpetuating discrimination against them helps nobody and damages all of us.

I was sucking cock before HIV was known to be a problem.  I sucked cock all through the HIV epidemic and I'm still sucking cock now - no plans to stop doing that any time soon.  I've often sucked guys who I know to be positive, I'm sure I've often sucked positive guys whose status I didn't know.  I've been careful and sensible and as of a few months ago, I'm still HIV negative.

Panic and hysterics over this well understood and easily protected from virus aren't justified any more.  Get a grip, educate yourself and make a personal choice based on facts, not fears.  Whatever that choice is, don't come out with unsupported statements about risk that just feed the prejudice of those who delight in having a group to point the finger at.

Bear in mind when researching that you can easily find articles online that clearly state that lemon juice cures AIDS, that it's caused by exposure to anything from cosmic rays to fairy dust, or that it can be contracted from being within 100m of someone who knows someone who has it.  Finding it on the net doesn't mean it's true.  find what the balance of research is saying, understand the statistical significance of those results then make a decision based on the balance of a number of properly designed and executed studies.

For me, it's easy.  Above the neck, short and simple.  Below the neck, don't touch it.

For me, that works for every type of guy, not just bears.

I think what is important is to make the laws such that there is no discrimination of people in gay relationships in such things as taxes. The name marriage itself doesn't seem an important thing to fight for IMHO

This point may already have been made, but extending a basic right like the right to marry, to one group but not another is intrinsically discriminatory.  It's the equality that's really the important part.
