Vanishing torrents ...

@Genneration @VGC You can check https://www.lumendatabase.org/ if there really has been a request.
I do not know how to proceed either as I have never gotten anything like this from other sites. I wish the admins could shed some light on this if how they are finding out about these so fast. Are gaytor.rent posts leaking results in to Google searches? Or is the site really filled with agents hounding every new posts made in gaytor.rent?
Also, does this have something to do with the images that are uploaded with the torrent. Images that are watermarked with logos of the copyright holders / name of the production company?
How are they finding out about these? we need to know so that we know what to do and not to do.
-
@Rotron The torrent pages to appear on google. It was how i initially discovered the website. Meaby companies could get a notification if the company + gaytorrent appear together on google. Changing or coding the name of the torrent could mean by throw off that, but as of now it is against the rules. I'm not sure how or if the owner/mods would want to remove the site from google searches.
-
@Rotron
Not sure what to say about the validity of the requests. But the same type of content I used to upload on this site without any issues a couple of months ago, is now taken down for DMCA. ( Fan site content shared yesterday by me was deleted within 5 hours, but similar content but uploaded a couple of months ago is still up) I've had quite many.
I am also a member of another community similar to this one. No problems with what I upload there, only here. And it's shame since I really like this one.
I see that these type of complaints are being dismissed with replies such as " Of, maybe the uploader deleted the torrent ''
I think it would be beneficial to have updated upload guidelines. -
Hmmm I think my last comment here was deleted. Maybe I'm not allowed to say that here.
Anyways, we all know what's happening and we just have to stay attentive and vigilant. I have done some verifications but it's still baffling to me as they seem to be specific. In my case that is.
Also, uploaders can only edit their torrents within the first 6 days from the date they were published and that includes deleting them.

I obviously can't tell, but it seems just like last time this happened, the fansite category is being targeted hardest. There are some other studios and owners that regularly get removed, T~M, B~dytorium, RFC~ub, BBAdditi~ns - but it seems like whenever they get SUPER over the top with reporting its like anything from that category that is recently uploaded. Even things that are already uploaded on site but not updated, or also placed in other categories.
I know DMCA requests with something like this are incredibly sensitive and not open for much discussion but I do hope some sort of strategy is considered.
-
Just asking for some advice. Maybe I shouldn't even ask but here it is.
My post for example episode 5 has been taken down, I received the system notice for it but the previous episodes 1 to 4 are still here. They were not taken off. Is it okay or even safe for me to post it again a week after maybe because that was the current episode that week?
Or that's stupid, skip to episode 6 instead.
Or that idea makes me an idiot and just totally forget about the rest of the episodes coming for that title.
It's not clear to me how to proceed because there are a lot of other titles here coming from the same streaming site.
Your reply or experience about this would greatly be appreciated.

leave the rest of what you posted and if you are worried about them due to copyright issues, write to helpdesk to remove the torrent [from the browse and tracker list] ...
also @ your own risk re-posting torrent that has been taken down recently will lead into account warning and your upload privileges will be affected ...

@john32123666 Got that! You set me straight.

Oh dear! Well, I'm tolerant of diversity, and I have many straight friends. I just hope that I don't get turned straight by the forum.
-
@eobox91103 LOL You just made me laugh. I did not mean that "straight". I meant that he straightened me out with his advice. Hehe.

Well I got another DMCA system notice on an upload I made yesterday but previous episodes stay unnoticed. There still is no clarification about this as I think a DMCA request should effect the whole title This has definitely discouraged me from uploading more in GayTor as this is so questionable and I have not been experiencing this somewhere else.
So for the meantime, I'm taking a vacation from sharing in the GayTor and and also hopefully this gets rid of that 1-star troller.
I will still be active here in the forum.
Maybe.
Question: Will my seed bonus count be wiped out if I request all my uploaded torrents to be deleted?

You raise several interesting points. I'd like to share my perspective on them, but please don't see this as a point-by-point rebuttal. If anything, it's an affirmation of what you're saying. There still is no clarification about this as I think a DMCA request should effect the whole title
The takedoown process can seem random if not chaotic, but I think the site removes all--and only--those torrents that are challenged. This can look weird: I posted a torrent for a full-length video in single-file-.mp4 format that was on the site for years, and than was taken down. Oddly, the same material, in native DVD format (a .VOB folder) remained on the site--and is still here. I suspect that the site got a takedown request for the single file torrent, but not for the DVD...and responded accordingly.
This has definitely discouraged me from uploading more in GayTor as this is so questionable and I have not been experiencing this somewhere else.
I know it's discouraging to have uploaded torrents removed. I take time and care to make my torrent descriptions thorough, with good pictures, thumbnail sheets., etc. (In the past week I had one taken down, but I take comfort in knowing that almost 2,000 other users got that material.) I can see that you care about sharing material, and I suspect that your torrents are well-constructed, and I've probably downloaded some of them. I hope you continue to share.
So for the meantime, I'm taking a vacation from sharing in the GayTor and and also hopefully this gets rid of that 1-star troller.
Vacations are good things--they tend to extinguish burnout, if you'll forgive the mixed metaphor. I would pay no attention to anonymous one-star ratings (or any other ratings). If someone has a worthwhile opinion about a torrent, they should have the balls to post a comment with their username attached.
I will still be active here in the forum. Maybe.
I hope so.
Question: Will my seed bonus count be wiped out if I request all my uploaded torrents to be deleted?
Someone from the site would need to answer this...but I don't think you'd lose it. But please don't ask your torrents to be deleted--again, I'm sure it's good stuff, and other users will enjoy having it. I, myself, may have had some enjoyable "private moments" with your torrents.

NO ... even if the torrent was remove or deleted ...
There's nothing to worry it's been credited aleady from your SBP [seedpoint bonus] account ...JUST A REMINDER :
As I've said leave the rest of what you posted and if you are worried about them due to copyright issues, write to helpdesk to remove the torrent [from the browse and tracker list] ...Take Care & Have A Great Day !!! ... [jhon] ... slightly_smiling_face:

@eobox91103 I am so happy and really appreciate your reply.
Oh I love to share more of course. I do it to share and spread the love for boys to those who does not have access to them in their region or does not have the funds because they are still starting out with their young adult lives and someday they'll be paying subscribers like me. I make copies on my hard drive for my own collection of the ones I like so why not share?
As for the take down process, yes it's quite baffling to me but how or why only here? Where is the leak coming from? It makes me feel uncomfortable like someone is already looking over my shoulder as to what I am posting next.
I'm only active in 2 gay torrent sites. I guess you'd already know which is the other one as there has been so many here looking to get there. I've been a member there since 2004 and here since 2013. I also do get hundreds or even more than 2000 completed downloads per title there but there is already a lot of competition and there seems to be a race to who gets to upload first.
This has been my reason to get more active here. Why bother sticking myself in a tight place and compete with others to get something up to get most of the download credits. LOL, I find it so funny. They are also without their issues. 2 weeks worth of uploads wiped out. Including the credits earned! I didn't bother re-upping what was wiped, only for those requested in the forum. Speaking of forum, it's overwhelming there. And most notably, the search engine there is so confusing. Here in GayTor, you get a straight-forward search result. But what makes their site works is the transparency and their stern and detailed rules, ban list and guidelines etc.
So when I saw the difference of the categories I'm interested in here from there; I jumped in and decided to stop posting there and work on here. I may not get as many downloads compared to there but I'm satisfied and hoping that it will grow someday. Plus, I do get to upload some uncut titles here that does not get to be uploaded there. There are some people here who do appreciate it that I have been sharing what they like and they would either comment or send me a chat. Also, I'm one of the very few who uses the GayTor Upload Utility made by Vander. We get to chat using the chat utility here as I usually report if a problem arises in his updates and provide input and feature request. I think he prefers to use the chat function compared to forum posting.
You are right on the well-constructed part. It takes time and effort to do those. Even the screenshots, I don't use a utility for them. I manually scan the video for shots that may spark interest for would-be downloaders and save them one by one but I also use the screenshots for making videos and posting them on my Tumblr or Tik-Tok. I just find it fun getting subscribers daily or just by getting a like.
I am glad that you have enjoyed some of my uploads. They may not be my work but I am happy to have shared their work that made you happy.
So . . . . . we'll see.

@john32123666 Yes, thank you for the answer and also grateful for you advise.
TC & Have A Great Day too!

Hi. Update: New DMCA record: I received it within 3 minutes from upload. The torrent had a generic name, thumbnails created by me so I am tempted to think that we are taking about a user here who reports them. Anybody else experiencing similar issues ? I understand details cannot be shared but maybe if you noticed any patterns.

It does sound that way. Admins could probably look to see if the IP address from which the DMCA complaint was sent matches that of an active user (although they can't confirm doing this as such would be a confidential internal process).
If they find a match, perhaps some system glitch would occur that deletes that user's account. We all know that software can do weird things sometimes.

If your torrent is report, please check to see if people are still downloading. Continue to seed please!!

@dilemmax
I did Hoping you guys can share your recent experiences -

I would underscore this. Even if the tracker software doesn't give upload credit for this seeding, we've all had the frustration of not being able to complete a download because other seeders have evaporated. If you're connected to another peer when the torrent is deleted, the connection with that other user will stay active (at least that's been my experience).
