The fact that she's a woman isn't what's news here. In fact, she's the THIRD person reportedly CURED of HIV infection.
https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/968544
She was cured in much the same way the others were: essentially, a complete replacement of her blood AND bone marrow (in her case, she had leukemia)
What's BIGGER news is that she was partially treated using umbilical cord blood taken from someone with the rare genetic trait that helps the body fight HIV infection to start with: "That particular sample of cord blood was selected for its genetic mutation against the CCR5 receptor on immune cells, CD4 T cells. That mutation makes the immune system resistant to HIV."
And even BIGGER than that: she wasn't White!
The mutation mentioned above only existed in northern-European bloodstreams. It was originally thought that the mutation was unique to them, and therefore unavailable to all but a few who would be "compatible" with this mutation.
The woman in this case is mixed-race (apparently with northern European in the mix somewhere), and so has put those assumptions "on their head"...This is science people. The Docs think they have a clue of what can and what won't work, then they test it - and often (usually, in the case of research) find they're wrong. But in every wrong guess, they learn SOMETHING.

She is the 4th to be cured. The previous 3 were men.

Every outlet I've looked at says she's #3 - but that doesn't really matter.
Again, SCIENTIFICALLY what's important is the use of umbilical chord blood (vs. stem cells) to introduce the genetic mutation, AND the fact that she's mixed-race.

If you actually read the article in the link, you can say "every".

OK - you lead with the fact that she's the 4th person ever "cured" - I'll lead with the fact that it didn't require "baby-killing" stem cells, and didn't require her to be White.
Happy now?
That's a rhetorical question - you are incapable of being happy!

Proof that you and AOC think alike. You don't have to be factually correct.
It's like you and your liberal claims that Kyle Rittenhouse killed 3 black men in Chicago.

You're such a tool... I found 6 different references to this story - all of which said she ls the THIRD person to be "cured" of HIV... but again, that doesn't matter!
If lightening strikes a house, causes a propane tank in the garage to explode, and 6 houses on the block are destroyed... does it matter if the toilet seat in the 4th house was up or down?
It does to you - and you'd argue (esp if it was me) about it for days, if you could.
This is FAR from the first time I've just let it slide when you want to pick on some obscurity and use it to claim you're always right...
You focus on the 3 vs 4 - the rest of the world will focus on the changes this makes to the potential for a wide-ranging cure for HIV. (No, this won't be that cure - but it changes our understanding - and therefore opens new doors for research.)
Was that the 3rd? or 4th? I forgot which one YOU said - either way, it was wrong LOL

Bitch, puhlease.
All you do is manufacture things to fight with me about.
Go back to watching AOC's Instagram videos, to get your "truth".
