Torrent server down?

Story so far -- Transmission is not working, but qBitorrent works. (A shame as Transmission is a lot prettier!)
This is on my Mac.

@vatdweller Yes, I've been using Transmission. I'll try the other. That is ... very weird. Why would this happen?

Before you start throwing your client "under the bus", please note that a LOT of sites on the Internet are being affected by a CA cert expiration at one of the largest SSL certificate providers. It's not that it wasn't planned for, just that a lot of Windows systems didn't get the update!
Not to get too technical, but that's a parent of a parent of the SSL cert (and there MAY be additional levels!) expiring... making a LOT of things on the Internet that depend on SSL for security to fail.
Read more HERE.
Some torrent clients will "fail" if the SSL cert isn't authentic, others will ignore (qBittorrent has a switch)...
Fix your Windows before you DITCH a perfectly good torrent client!
NOTE: The SAME condition exists on MACs, Linux systems, even cloud systems! The issue is in the SSL infrastructure, NOT in the OS itself!

@bi4smooth I'm on a Mac and use Transmission. I'm not abandoning it, but it's not working currently and I don't know how to get it up and running. The app is too widely used for this problem not to get fixed at some point -- but I don't know how to do it (it's likely not too hard, you just have to know how to manipulate SSL conditions within which it operates).
So meanwhile, I'll use qBittorent for a while. I like a lot of what it offers but it looks like Windows software and not an elegant Mac app, which Transmission most certainly is. qBt is def more powerful but Transmission is simple, attractive and gets the job done. Usually...
When Transmission is operational again, I'll switch back. With fond sentiments towards qBt which is an excellent client.

The forum disconnection problem is due to our use of Cloudflare to protect us from DDOS attacks.
The site (aka tracker) and the forums use different servers, so any issues won't be connected unless it's something big.

Glad to hear you love your Transmission... far be it from me to tell ANYONE what client to use! Indeed, my post was trying to say "NOT SO FAST"
FWIW: I like qBitTorrent because I can use it on my PC, my Mac, and my Linux - all with mostly the same look/feel. LOL Exactly what you dislike about it! Different strokes! Viva la Difference! (Anglicized, yes)
If you look hard in the Transmission settings, you SHOULD find an SSL (or rather, an ignore SSL errors) setting. My Mac is broken right now, so I can't give you point and click instructions, but I'm confident it is there.
Finally, as @raphjd said above, the tracker issue is an SSL problem - unrelated to the Forum's "self-correcting bounce" (my term)... but the SSL issue is NOT solely related to this site or the LetsEncrypt SSL distributor/issuer... the CA (Certificate Authority) certificates are issued (unlike your own SSL cert) for YEARS! Decades, even!
This is going to be a problem for a LOT of early IoT devices - some of whom simply cannot be updated easily (if at all).
In the meantime, check out this Apple site - I didn't read deeply into it (I didn't follow the links - and with my Mac being down, I can't check out its veracity), but it purports to allow you to update the CA Store on your Apple devices...

So I'm not sure this is user-configurable in Transmission. I did find this at [link text](https:(https://github.com/transmission/transmission/issues/1338) but I have no idea how to set the app's environment variable...

Wasn't sure where else to post this but I still can't get torrent's to work.
It says "Could not connect to tracker."
I tried downloading the certificate from this thread, but it's locked so can't reply in there.

i just installed a new SSL certificate not issued by Let's Encrypt for our tracker. It should now work everything as expected..
also the forum issue with the lost connection problem is solved and should not happen anymore
enjoy

Thanks, @Joker ! It is working now -- I'm ip/downloading and not getting the forum error.
Thanks so much for your (and everyone's) efforts on our behalf!

I installed this and still was not able to download anything. I have not been able to download a single torrent since I joined the site. The tracker says "Not working' and the message says expected value (list, dict, into or string) in bencoded string.
I don't know what else needs to be done. All other torrent sites work for me flawlessly.
