Ivermectin - the liberal hoax
-
Liberal media has been posting lies about Ivermectin.
It's not "fringe" media, but MSM that is doing this. The AP published a version of the lies.
NO, people are not ODing on Ivermectin.
NO, gunshot victims are not dying because hospital ERs are overflowing with Ivermectin patients.
NO, people are not flooding Poison Control with calls about bad reactions from Ivermectin.
Whatever you think about Ivermectin use, you should be angry about MSM reporting fake news and not vetting the sources.

CNN got it right: here
This story is a MESS from the get go - a mess on the left AND the right! It seems everyone is so eager to throw "the other guy" under-the-bus, they consistently fail to check on the facts before they report.
FACTS:
- One OKC hospital had several ivermectin OD patients in their ICU - an ICU that was full (and therefore, turning away patients). Said ICU was not full "of ivermectin OD patients", most of the ICU had COVID-19 patients - but there were some ivermectin OD patients there too...
- One Dr from that OKC hospital reported as much on social media in an interview for local TV
- SEVERAL left-wing outlets reposted and made it seem like OKC was stuffing all of their hospitals with ivermectin OD patients (clearly overstating the case)...
- Rolling Stone (online, not the printed mag) used a headline: "Gunshot Victims Left Waiting as Horse Dewormer Overdoses Overwhelm Oklahoma Hospitals, Doctor Says." which was blatantly untrue... They later retracted it.
- MSNBC host Rachel Maddow tweeted the OKC local story - itself untrue (and to-date, hasn't yet retracted her reporrting of it!)
- When someone did a little research, they found the Dr listed online and called one of the hospitals (multiple - which is not uncommon) where he is on staff - and that hospital reported NO ivermectin OD patients in their ICU
- Right-wingers in the Twitterverse RAN with this one, some calling the Dr a liar (not true - everything HE actually said was true - the TV stations inferences and the people hyperbolizing upon one another were all that was untrue). Some even left negative reviews on this Dr.'s profiles on medical review sites.
Lots (and LOTS) of finger pointing (and shouting FIRE when there's just a match there) to go around on this one!
Mind you, LEFT WING media gets things wrong ALL THE TIME! @raphjd just doesn't post their crap as-if it was true!
Perhaps I'll start to post more "left wing nutjobs got it wrong again" articles... of course, that'll take away from time I currently devote to correcting @raphjd's postings ROFL!
But in this case, here's the "match" that everyone is calling a fire:
- OKC hospitals are filling up (COVID-19, anyone?) and some of those patients are there because of OD symptoms from the use of ivermectin
All the rest is just people (over)reacting to each other's reactions to that one story... that story wasn't shocking... it's a kind-of "dog bites man" story... no? So how did it get so overblown?
Liberals looking for anything they can to show Conservatives are evil, stupid people. Followed by Conservatives looking for anything they can to show Liberals are evil, stupid people.
Would that we could all just calm down and admit that some liberalism in this world is good, and some conservatism in this world is good. What we need to do constantly is strive to find the right mix and balance of the two...

You forgot the AP story about 70% of calls to Poison Control is for Ivermectin issues. It was less than 2% and in many cases, it was asking for information, not about medical needs.

The examples of "aggregators" not doing even basic homework on the stuff they're regurgitating are many and varied... on all sides.
In a perfect world, we'd find a way BACK to making news reporting a non-profit enterprise... so that there was no need to hyper-inflate stories, and no value in click-bait!
