This topic (abortion) is an absurd one to have or leave between politicians.
The Government should not be a part of medical decisions.
Abortion is being used as a political football and it is gross and immoral... at ALL levels.
Abortion is a medical procedure. It should fall under HIPPA and other privacy laws; and restrictions on how and when it is practiced should be made and policed by the medical community.
The Government should not be a part of medical decisions.
Mind you: the medical community has politics itself. Truly, any time you get 3 or more people together, there will be politics! But there is a difference:
- politics in the medical community are not about getting money and power from average, medically ignorant populations. Indeed, politics in the medical community are often about different views of what's best for the patient, not the doctor. (But its also about money and power - but the sources of those are other doctors and others in the medical community!)
- politics in Government is entirely about getting money and power from average, medically ignorant populations! For these politicians, this isn't about saving lives (of babies or mothers), it's about getting re-elected! Each side is trying to scare their constituents into giving more money so they can get re-elected and get a majority.
The Government should not be a part of medical decisions.
That's not a Conservative Christian ideal, but I don't subscribe to Government-mandated morals... I'm a Libertarian in this aspect of my politics.
The AMA and every State's Board of Medicine establish rules of conduct for medical practitioners...
THEY should be the ones in charge of "generalized" rules for abortion - the same as they are for cardiac procedures and emergency medicine procedures and hospice procedures! The Government should not be a part of medical decisions.

I'm wondering if you are even a RINO, since you are so far to the left.
Let me guess, you're also a feminist.
