Why can't we see other people's upload history or download history?

Is there a technical/security reason someone could explain why we can't see upload or download history. Sometimes I see someone hosting something I really like and I want to know what else they've uploaded/downloaded if we have similar tastes.

The Danger with this is Copyright Trolls… So a few occasions with some studios they have used software to track IP addresses and started issuing letters saying pay us $800 or we will take you to court. A few occasions they have done this to people.
Now if one of those trolls were here, they could see your user ID and find ALL the torrents you've downloaded and start demanding more money. Don't get me wrong I bet alot of the time they wont be able to make a direct relation between IP address and user ID... however sometimes they will and may cause people even more pain dealing with that nonsense.
If you are the first person to seed it they get that IP information and user information and then notice you downloaded 18 of their flicks... Yeah.

Right… in the early days (consider that 2008)... in more innocent days... the site was rather TOTALLY OPEN, and members could see pretty much anything and everything (unless a member had specified the highest privacy settings for their account.)
Over time... as the Internet evolved, and privacy concerns evolved, and studios and ISPs began their attack modes... the site had to evolve, also, clamping down on showing or exposing pretty much anything and everything from being able to be seen by our members.
I really regret this, on a personal level... to where we've come to... as a society, to this level of being forced into another form of "hiding", as it were.
ABOVE ALL, I REALLY miss our CHAT window that we used to have. That used to be so much fun, sharing links to pictures, videos, sharing opinions and jokes...!!! I miss that... so much. :cry2:
But... back on topic... we DO have the comments you can leave, in torrents, eh? AND FEEL FREE to ask the uploader if he will post (in the next torrent comment) some links to OTHER uploads of his... or similar answers to queries you may have...
Of course, too, the forum is pretty open to being able to request links and information you may desire; or opinions you'd like to express... within the forum rules, of course!
