As a fan of being gang banged (Not ashamed to admit it) you need an open dialogue before hand. The rules need to be discussed before anyone turns up really. That and everyone needs to have seen pics of a) The bottom b) the tops to check that everyone finds them sexually attractive etc. Sounds like that maybe didn't happen here?
The pre bang conversation allows people to say no before they turn up.
If personality matters to those people then gets a bit trickier but maybe go for drinks or something first? Make it clear that its not 100% going to happen for each person. If the top does not fancy the btm at all then just be honest, same if the btm doesnt fancy the top.

i mean yes all participants should be considerate to all other participants, but i really object to the concept of fucking someone out of politeness. maybe you didnt invite the right participants?

Perhaps the invited "guest tops" were shady stating their sex-act preference. Perhaps the photo wasn't the best representation of the bottom. Perhaps the bottom had personality or intimacy quirks that don't bother you, but turned off some of the guests. Perhaps half of the guests are just selfish pricks (with selfish pricks attached), who always intended just to play with the most attractive guys. It's rarely like in the movies.. Good that you exchange your photos, but that's just a part of being attracted to someone. Behavior/movements/voice etc. they all play some part. And - we're only human, not every top acts like a robot and gets hard just being around a nice bottom. Keep trying
