Calisthenics/Bodyweights?
-
My gym closes early on weekends, so I'm wondering if you guys have any tips/any resources regarding calisthenics/bodyweights? I'm looking for workouts which I can do at home, and anything, ranging from Youtube tutorials to how-to guides from the internet, would be appreciated.

Oh God. I'm too lazy to search but the first thing I would type in would be "different type of push-ups" cause that's like one of the main exercises you can get from training with your bodyweight - it can be natural, traditional, but you can also adjust the range of your hands, if you move them closer to the center of your body you will work with triceps, also you can develop this part with Swedish push-ups. You can do biceps by doing diver's push-up. Maybe you can even stand on your hands and then do some. If the exercise is too easy you start to complicate it, at least that's what my aunt does cause she doesn't train with wegihts at all. The next thing would be bar. A bars is such a great tool. Pull-ups work great one your back and I believe chest too. Depends how you do them. Just search about the anatomy or just google bodyweight training or routine in google I'm sure you will find something. For ABS there is a 8 min video which is pretty cool and it has 3 levels I think. You can also do squats with something heavy on your neck like a big chain or I don't know something flat on your shoulders. You can use chairs to do the dips. Literally, your home is your playground. Also if you want to wark on mobility search "Animal Flow" on youtube.

Look at the How To Start playlist, there are four videos and the best I've seen on how to get started.
Matt is my favorite all round guy. If you look through his routines he has some unusual stretches and exercises. What's best, he footnotes and links to other peoples accounts.
Youtube VideoThese vids are inspirational. There's not a lot of explanation but they'll blow your mind.
https://www.youtube.com/user/CalisthenicmovementAnd, of course, there's bodybuilding.com
they have a whole section where you can select your peramaters and pull up a list of exercises. They also have free routines, too.Hope this helps.

Thank you so much! Do you have a particular routine or a particular video in mind? What in particular would you recommend?

If you go in order of the first playlist, that'll start you. Once you've seen those videos (I'd watch them all just to see how it all fits together) then look at Matt's videos. Start with this playlist of routines. As I said, he footnotes, so you'll know what to watch next based on what he's teaching you.
