7.7/10
Great film. I always enjoy pictures portraying the resolve and grit in artistic pursuits and processes.
Excellent film!
Weird that I've only watched this movie last night after reading the last two posts. Yeah, totally agree, this is a very good film, I don't usually watch this Houdini-ish kind of film but like I've said, this movie is badass good. Christian Bale maybe an asshole in real life, but when he acts, he overshadows those who are in the same scene as him. 7.5/10

I have not seen a lot of Christian's films. But I did remember seeing him as a young boy in "Empire of the Sun" (another excellent film) when I saw the cast for this film. So I figured I'd give it a look. As I said before, excellent film.

Saw this one too, about a coming of age during WWII based on the semi autobiographical novel of J. G. Ballard , and even as a child actor he is good. Another one of his badass good acting is in American Psycho (2000)

Heven't seen that one yet. But I will have to move it up my queue on your recommendation.

Badass acting and a less than average flaccid dick frontals :funny2:

Didn't enjoy the book nearly as much as I did the film. Would also recommend the movie.

I watched Liam Neeson in The Commuter (2018) last night. His character is oh-so-similar to the Taken franchise, but he does give it his all, and I love Vera Farmiga, who plays a small but pivotal role.
Allow yourself to accept the far-fetched premise and the near-impossible escapes, and The Commuter does offer 90 minutes of adrenalin-raising entertainment. 6.5/10

I saw Avengers: Infinity War (2018) about last week but just got a chance to write this.
I don't want to spoil anyone, so just go and hit the theater, you won't regret it. The most mysterious marvel movie so far. I gave it 9 out of 10.

The last movie I saw was Love, Simon. I would rate it 8.5/10.

I saw Deadpool 2 this afternoon.
I find it easier to describe films than to rate them:
Extreme graphic violence and gore.
Language that would knock a buzzard off a shit wagon.
Cute teen lesbians.
Not so cute references to abuse of children.
A number of humorous cameos. (Brad Pitt has a literal 'blink and you'll miss him' character.)
Very funny with morbid and cringe humour.IMO, parodies only work when they can function as the thing that they are parodying. The bones of this movie are good - there are character arcs where people change through the film due to their own decisions. The bad guys are plausible villains. The bad decisions people make are consistent with their characters. A couple of the good guys are believable as bad asses (Domino and Cable.)
I enjoyed it and recommend it to my friends who are sick puppies.

As I was looking for the name of the actress who played the protagonist (amazingly), I found out that this was the director's first feature film. Good god. It was visually stunning, and posits a very heterodox view on cannibalism. It was hyped during its release for it's gore, but it was actually pretty tame. It's a quite a thrilling coming of age story.
7/10
Like Raw, it was breathtakingly beautiful. It's a fashion magazine's editorial page every goddamn scene. Story-wise, it reminded me of Junji Ito's Tomie, sans transmogrification. It was delightful.
Team America: World Police (2004)
7/10
A satiric clusterfuck with hilarious flailing puppets. The details in the sets were glorius. Parisian pavementes decorated with concrete croissants? Fucking genius.
"Matt Damon."
6.5/10
Good. Acting was meh (almost bad, really), CGI is lackluster. It accomplished what it was trying to do with the "cosmic dread" theme. Quite the Lovecraftian tale.
(Holy crap what a bizarre quartet of films.)

Saw Deadpool 2 last week.
I was good. I like the comedy about the crossing line between DC and Marvel LOL :rotfl:
Gave it 8/10

It's a good movie or I think there would be many good gay movie with kinda this movie big budget.
Let's compare, Moonlight (2016) won Best Picture with only $1.5m budget, and Love, Simon (2018) have $17m budget.
In my opinion, it's a little bit overrated. The story also not that new, about a young high school boy who is dealing with coming out.
I gave it 7/10

The Secret of Marrowbone (2017)
Ghost Story about an evil father and an elder brother who will try to protect his siblings at all cost. 7/10
-
Hereditary (2018)
I can see where a lot of people may have enjoyed this movie, but it left me slightly confused, and chuckling at several different points. I was more irate with the fact that it took my friends and I a huge chunk of the movie to understand what was even going on. 4/10.

This is the full length version of the short film with the same title that was released in 2012. This is better than the short film in a way that the actors are way, way better than their counterpart in the short version. The pacing will bore some who will watch this but it is essential to the development of the story and the cinematography is quite good. 7/10

1. Ideal Home (2018)
Nothing new in this movie. Gay couple who hate kid than suddenly a kid come along and they grew affection. The different is that this movie made with more bucks so its look like "something". The only thing that I like in this movie is Paul Rudd's beard.5/10
2. The Domestics (2018)
The movie is just ridiculous. Set in not so long post-apocalyptic era, the story is just unreal. To be honest I fast forward my media player right to the ending and pause awhile to see Tyler Hoechlin shirtless scene5/10
3. Human Planet (2011-2011)
Also just finished this series. Awesome documentary!9/10

Ocean's 8:
Cotton-candy movie. Sweet and fluffy without any depth. Enjoyable but forgettable.
The cast was very good as were the visuals. But it's not funny enough to be a comedy and it's not tense enough to be a thriller.
BThe Incredibles 2:
Emotionally messier therefore better. I want to know more about these characters after the movie ended.
Like Black Panther, the antagonist wasn't precisely in the wrong. There was a good argument on what to do about unjust laws.
Entertaining with some depth.

A Quiet Place 8/10
Saw it yesterday and liked the movie overall, with few dialogue, but manages to do the job well.
