Post the last movie you've seen and how you rate it
-
Post anything (general or LGBTQ Themed Movie), the last movies or TVs you've watched and how you rated it. The rating would 0-10 form. In addition, IMDb link and short comment would be perfect.
Let's start.
I just saw Rope (1948), 7/10.
Now I understand what people called as homoeroticism in his classic movie. Great adaptation. -
Finished The Lives of Others (2006). Powerful movie, especially the ending. Its been a long time I cried over movies. I gave 8/10.
-
The Avengers 2, I give it a 9!
-
I would rate it a 9 out of 10 with the caveat that I haven't watched the finale yet (saving it).
Originally what inspired me to check this out was that I had read about playlists that had been curated for each episode, similar to Halt & Catch Fire. With Halt just ending, my fondness for eighties electronic music and a curiosity to see what a German/American co-production could produce I decided to check it out. I have a fear of subtitles but figured because America was involved they would be minimal.
I got hooked right away and didn't notice the constant German beyond the fact that it meant I had to devote all my attention to watching. None of my usual cruising the web while watching TV but with the lead being so damn pretty my attention was focused anyway. In fact I also may have found my new boyfriend in one of the secondary characters (Thomas).
As an added bonus there is a great gay subplot with Kaposi's sarcoma rearing it's ugly head. It is 1983 after all.
Great story telling with this one.

Its a good movie and I love the intensity of the story and the complicated characters.
Anyway, I just finished True Detective (2014) Season 1. Interesting plot and I like the screenplay, so fresh and clever move. 8/10.
Second, Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), I only gave it 7/10. Mostly because this second movie lost its epic adventure and action.

I watched Bad Johnson (with Cam Gigandet) and I couldn't stop laughing. I will laugh at a good comedy, but will never seek one to watch. This one, however, had Cam in it, so I watched. I'd rate it a 9 Yeah, I give easy high grades to movies

you're the worst 9/10
Started it last week because I kept hearing how "It's the best", I do love it because it is twisted but Rick & Morty is the "best" currently running program, Downton Abbey just started again so there you have the 2nd best and then You're The Worst.

I last watched Exeter (imdb title tt1945044) on netflix and would probably rate it a 3 at best, and that's stretching it. It just wasn't very good at all. It ended up being very smug without actually having any wit. It wasn't funny or really even entertaining. It certainly wasn't scary or tense. It started off well and I thought it might actually be a dark comedy, but it became clear that it was funny only unintentionally. A really miserable time. Watch anything else.

monter hunt its a chineas move and cool

Just finish, first, Jurassic World (2015) and I can only gave it 6/10 because no one can get rid of Stephen Spielberg geniuses from the first movie.
Second, San Andreas (2015), 5/10, mostly I hated it because ridiculous story, awful acting and many plot holes. Though I have to admit that the visual effects are good.
The last is American Horror Story Season 4: Freak Show. I stopped watch this season after episode 5. I can't stand it no more, just wasting my time. It's awful season.
-
You made it further than I did with Freak Show but goddamn I loved Lange doing Life On Mars!
-
Lange is the one that made me want to keep going with that last season, but the further I follow, its worse and worse. 10 minutes of the episode 5, I delete the whole folder

I have friends who watched American Horror Story for the first time when Coven aired and so maybe they caught the Murphy bug late but have since watched all of them.
[off-topic] I should add they are a married couple (since it was legalized) but have been together I think over 30 years. I don't need to disclose but want to share they are an odd couple, often I feel they may have different views then each other in a conversation but one half forces the other half to present the same face while company is there. It's difficult to explain but it's even more difficult to experience[/off-topic]
Last year as each episode of Freakshow had aired it would be a talking point among us until I missed the third or fourth one and then never picked it up again, at first I said I could binge watch it but I realized I really have no interest in the story or where it went. This week they said of all of the AHS Freakshow is the best and I coughed up some of my drink to no one's amusement. I managed a "Really?" and left it that.
I don't know much of early Ryan Murphy but my review of what I do know might include a line like: "comes up with great ideas with no follow through".
That rumour of him being involved with Streisand's Gypsy disappointed me.

Recently saw the new adaption of Macbeth, which I'd give a solid 10 out of 10.
-
Last watched Inside Out (2015) and I'd say its highly overrated, I only gave it 6/10. I almost hated it, but thank God for the last 15 minutes of the movie.
-
Just saw I Kissed a Girl (2015) and I fu@#ing hate it!
I gave it 1/10, the second gay themed movie I gave 1 rate. I hate the story the most and if I had a chance to meet the director, I would killed him!
-
A escondidas (2014); 10/10. It's Out in the Dark meets Beautiful Thing, and it's just so well crafted and beautiful with perhaps the best broken chronology i've seen in a long time + the young actors are so competent, just - yessss, everybody see this!
-
Crimson Peak 8/10
Not Del Toro's finest but the film geek in me loved the references to The Innocents, Rebecca and Deep Red.
-
A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master
6/10
