What brand of poppers do you like? (those of you who use it)
-
I was looking to buy some poppers online, and there are so many brands that I do not know. If you use poppers, with brand(s) do you like, and why?

Health Canada really grates my cheese. Jungle Juice was my fave and also is a Canadian product. Currently their website is unable to process orders due to "officials" according to the site. How Health Canada can bugger that up further is beyond me. I know I am old school but my VCR heads are downright filthy at the moment and with no way to clean them because some delinquents choose to abuse a substance!
Let me know where you order from and how successful you are.
I have been looking into "breaking bad" a batch on my own, I have found a recipe & watched a demonstration of creating the product. It's now just a case of sourcing ingredients (& cost because I don't think it will be just small amounts).

American based orders, the website listed for orders outside the US is defunct.

I'm wary to get the vision-loss side effects that have been reported in European brands recently (I'm in the US).
Can any US users (the frequenter the better) confirm that our stuff isn't going to cause you to go blind?

Oh I think you'll find that confirmation hard to come by, I think that can be possible side effect of any of the nitrites, you won't see it on any American labelled bottles because it says right there "not for human consumption".

I also imagine if Health Canada has made them practically non-existent your American counterpart is likely looking at something similar.

Oh, they're available in the U.S., right out of the same old sex shops as always, it's just forced into this dark underground status because of silly laws. Nobody can ever pretend that it's meant for anything but an electronics or leather cleaner, and forget about asking actual questions about the products to the people selling it – it's a crappy thing when market-testing actually happens with consumers and a few brave souls.
It actually makes the stuff a lot more iffy and dangerous than if they just allowed it and regulated it so the ACTUAL CHEMICALS on things would need to be printed on the sides.
At any rate, I enjoy them and use them (very very rarely and usually solo), but I have gotten at least a couple of bottles in the past that made my vision blurred for a few minutes afterward .... as well as giving me a bit of a cough the following day (it really sucks if you're trying to get a workout in). Others have been a lot more benign for me -- I know it's an issue of what flavor of nitrite they're actually using, and I wish we'd just stop playing these stupid regulate-your-blood-chemicals games with free, grown adults in our society. It'd be a lot better (and less damaging) to allow the old amyl again.
I always get the smallest bottles, and to date, have never had a bottle more than a few days, and never used more than a portion of it before pouring the rest out (I get worried about side effects) ... they make you horny as hell, and while too much does indeed make you go soft, just enough makes your orgasms intense and gives you a rush of sexual bliss the likes of which you might not have experienced since you were 15.

I'm from Canada.
Because of how poppers are banned, it's been incredibly difficult to import them. Most sellers who are willing to ship to Canada are from UK/EU, and because Isobutyl is banned from UK since 2007, we can only get our hands on Isopropyl formulas, which comes with tons of side effects such as congestion and vision issues.
Isobutyl is what seems to be the best choice with less side effects and it's more easily obtainable within the states. However, most US sellers are reluctant to ship to Canada. (Selling poppers comes with a 3 year jail time and 5000$ fine).
It's NOT illegal to own or produce, but illegal to sell. So if you're buying poppers from Canada from US or elsewhere, you're likely getting the real deal…but this fucks Canadians over from getting their hands on the real product and instead they have to resort to counterfeits from UK.
I run a forum in www.reddit.com/r/popperpigs as a place to share more information. I encourage you guy to join and share your experiences. (if linking isn't permitted, I understand and you're free to remove this post)

I'm from the U.S.and while usually most company's don't have issues shipping to Canada, it seems this isn't the case when trying to purchase poppers. I checked the websites that I usually order from, and they all specifically say that they do not ship to Canada. As far as brands are concerned, I usually purchase Amsterdam or English poppers. Those two brands never seem to give me a headache after using them.

Never used poppers. Would not know.

Well, not to be rude, but why post in the thread at all?

unfortunately, from my experience, brands don't matter anymore. the formula that's used and common place in USA is completely different from that in the UK yet companies are labelling their products as "english" or "amsterdam" despite using more watered down isopropyl formulas.
I've been mostly coming across isopropyl since we have no means of being shipped these products from usa (with usually uses isobutyl, has less side effects) and we have to resort to ordering from the UK
I've ordered three different kinds of amsterdam and noticed depending on where it was manufactured, results were all different.

This is a topic that might stay alive in a useful and instructive way, so four months since the last comment, here I'm
Went to PopShop and read their promos. Seemed to know what they were doing and to have assessed variables and
details, so I took 'em up on their Buy 3 Get 1 offer. That was many months ago and so far I've not come close to using
up the first one I opened. What with one thing and another, the others are still sealed tight, so I cannot compare and contrast, but at this rate they
will all have dried up by the time I get to them. Perfectly happy with the one I've been using, and suspect any one that
appeals to you would be satisfactory, but obviously my knowledge of this producer's product is highly restricted.Payment and delivery were easy and quick. Seems to be a real business with one specialty and a commitment to quality
and getting it right. Could be a fairly safe way of getting ahold of a test bottle to discover how it works for you in your
circumstances, but if poppers are what you want, these are them.Prices at a shop in Toronto a few years ago shocked me, but then it had been years since my last previous purchase and
maybe all the hassles have affected pricing in general.Has anyone else tried this shop? What was that experience like as a customer and what evaluation can you offer in terms
of your chosen label name in terms of what you know about how it works in practice to enhance or modify your experience? At any rate, I do not notice any decline from what I last used, back when, and think it compares favorably to the actual
poppers that were snapped to release the contents one time and then discarded. Hence the name. Like packing bubbles,
they popped and never spilled liquid anywhere because there was none.I think even then, pre-plague, it was not actually genuine Amyl, but for all I know it might well have been. Again, I don't
have enough personal experience to compare these products (or any others) to the real thing.Considering the number of suggestions for using hits to relax the sphincter for a bottom, esp. a first-timer, there really could
be a sticky topic if enough people kept hope alive, and there is certainly not as much product report data as some kind of
Yelp-style detail could provide. My suspicion is that usage has fallen off in the last couple of decades, but I'm not exactly
in the mainstream of the social circles where such information might be shared. -
Hmm… maybe a little chemistry lesson is needed here.
Poppers are nitrited alcohols They all work the same way. You inhale them, and then they re-break into the alcohol and the gas in your bloodstream. You get high off the gas part, and then your body has to break down the alcohol part.
amyl uses a 5 carbon alcohol
butyl uses a 4 carbon alcohol
isopropyl uses a 3 carbon alcohol
ethyl is 2 carbon
methyl is 1 carbon. The longer the chain, the more stable it is when it's a popper. 2 and 1 carbon poppers are not liquid at room temp, so I have some doubts about going blind as a real thing, because that's a methyl alcohol issue. If you ingest wood grain alcohol, your liver turns it into a kinda formaldehyde that can pickle your optic nerves which is why it can make you blind. But poppers in a bottle shouldn't be able to have a nitrated methanol, so the only way it would be in there is if some dumb ass put methyl alcohol in the mix for no good reason after the poppers were made.
So. maybe we should understand how you make poppers.
It's a very simple thing. You take an acid, mix it with water, chill it with ice, and then stir in the alcohol. Then you mix in sodium nitrite (used for bio diesel, and meat preservation) The acid breaks the sodium nitrite into nitric oxide gas, which then bonds to the alcohol, and then it floats to the top. You skim off the stuff on the top, and you've got poppers. It's about as difficult as making a cake. All the ingredients are legal, and you can get them on amazon, except pentanol, which is 5 carbon and used to make amyl. That stuff.. I've never been able to find outside a controlled chemical supplier.
Anyway, that leaves isopropyl(yes.. rubbing alcohol) and isobutyl as the ones easy to get.
Most poppers are one or the other because it's just easier. Although some mix. Amyl(5 carbon from pentanol) is a controlled substance and is included in some emergency kits and is treated as a medicine.
What you experience as differences.. is usually not really a difference in how it was made. Because the poppers float in water, the purity ends up being very high because the ingredients are so simple.
They end up seeming different because they start to break down as soon as they are made, and as they break down more, they smell different depending on how much nitric oxide and alcohol it has reverted to. That's why the "fresh" is important, and why when you get a new bottle it's different than when you're at the end of the bottle, or you kept it too long.
There's a couple things you can do to make it last longer.
- keep it in the freezer. When it's cold, it breaks down faster. But also, when it's cold, the nitric oxide gas recombines with the alcohol back into poppers. That's why you have to chill everything when it's made.
- get some glycerine and put a bit in the bottle after you open it. Glycerine is used making soap, cosmetics. You can find it at walgreens or the grocery sometimes. The glycerine absorbs the broken down stuff and keeps you from inhaling it, which makes it smell fresher longer.

"They all work the same way. You inhale them, and then they re-break into the alcohol and the gas in your bloodstream. You get high off the gas part, and then your body has to break down the alcohol part. "
Not a chemist here, but is that really how it works? Interesting. Maybe that's why I can describe it as the "feeling of getting drunk instantly in a few seconds and having it wear off"
Would taking poppers constantly be like basically taking alcohol into your system, just another method (inhaling vs drinking) ?

Are you still ordering from USPopShop? The last two or three orders have been duds. I can understand getting a bad bottle here and there, but two have 3 orders back to back with all of the bottles of Eruption fizzle without a good hit was really disappointing. I miss them though. Eruption really reminded me of the old days. >:D
