Do you bearded guys, use hair conditioner in your beard to soften it?

I do as well as leaving in coconut oil from time to time.

I've only ever conditioned it every once in a while, with mixed results… I think the best thing to do is to apply some kind of beard balm or oil to it. Right after you shower, put some on your hands, rub them together to warm it, then apply it in downward strokes on your beard. Depending on what you use (if it has stuff like beeswax in it or not) it might also make it a bit neater and less frizzy, which is nice. 🙂

Unless you have a really rugged face and don't care, DO NOT use traditional hair products on your face.  The same applies to soaps.

Use products designed for facial hair and face.  Expensive doesn't mean it works best.  You can find recipes to make your own on the internet, I haven't tried any of those.

Leave in conditioners (liquid types) are the best at keeping your facial hair looking it's best.  Wax or other styling products are NOT a substitute for conditioner.

Don't use styling products unless you really need to and then only use as little as possible to get what you need.  You will need to wash your facial hair every day if you use this kind of stuff.

Know your face.  If you break out easily, then stay away from oil based conditioners and products with a lot of oils, unless it's tea tree, citrus and the other known cleansing ones.

If you have beard dandruff, then you must wash it every day and use a conditioner.
