Ukraine loses a generation

Sunday Times, "Ukraine’s average soldier is 43. How can they keep Putin at bay? Some volunteers who signed up at the beginning of the war with Russia are mentally and physically exhausted, and there is a lack of younger fighters to replace them."
Other rags agree: https://www.businessinsider.com/average-age-ukrainian-soldier-43-amid-personnel-problems-2023-11
Remember: War was a choice - of the West.
Peace deal nearly happened but UK & USA vetoed it:
Why would West prefer war? The money laundering.

@blablarg18 I have friends in both Russia and Ukraine. A LOT of people in Ukraine are Russians who moved to the more mild climate of Ukraine. I am terrified to think of any of the people I know of being killed or people they know being killed. Also, even those who are not killed in battle often commit suicide later on. So sad.
It amazes me that the weapons made by the USA work so well for Ukraine, but our OWN military fails to use them to much success. We lost to Vietnam, North Korea, and Afghanistan! (and sort of Cuba).

@lololulu19 Most people south-east of Kiev think themselves Russian. They were given to Ukraine by only some weird Soviet-political accident.
I'm told, for what it's worth, they were OK at first to be left in a peaceful neutral Ukraine - until Ukraine's own "Donbas war" against them made clear that "the Germans" - ie. western half of Ukraine who sided with Nazi Germany in WW2 - was out to genocide them.
By now most of them, I'm told, think yes we'd better be part of Russia to save our lives from "the Germans".

@blablarg18 This war is scary. You have other countries not just supplying money, but advanced technology and weapons as well.
Consider this scenario - which is possible. Gaza is not a credible threat to Israel other than random terrorism, BUT if they were given a nuclear weapon from North Korea, Pakistan, India, etc. THEN you have a massive problem, because the terrorists would not hesitate to use it.
Meddling in other country's wars is very dangerous. In the Ukraine war, NATO countries decided that it would be good to supply Ukraine with advanced weapons (which will eventually fall into the hands of Russia) as long as the weapons were used defensively inside the country of Ukraine. They were not to expand the war by using those weapons to attack the country of Russia / Moscow. However, they ARE doing that. Consider this scenario. The USA or some other country decides to supply Ukraine / Kiev with nuclear missiles. Russia would not tolerate that, just as the USA did not tolerate the USSR putting nukes in Cuba - and were willing to go to war with the USSR over that.
i recall that in the first Gulf War under Bush Sr. there was outrage that countries such as Syria were supplying Iraq with weapons. Why is it OK for the USA to supply weapons to one side in a war, but other countries are forbidden from doing that?
Also, Ukraine has been in a state of civil war for decades. They had something like 7 leaders in a span of just 2 years. That is why Ukraine gave up their nuclear weapons - because they did not want them falling into the hands of the other factions. Russia did not come in as Germany did on France with a blitzkrieg. Over the span of years, they surrounded Ukraine with tanks, etc. Even when they entered Ukraine, they did not start shooting. They set up lines and had the citizens evacuate in buses. If they had done a blitzkrieg, they would have taken Ukraine in days. Instead, as the citizens were evacuated, the USA and other countries were shippiing weapons to Ukraine. Not enough weapons to win the war, but just enough to keep the war going.

@lololulu19 yes.... just to throw in another wrinkle: reports say BOTH Ukraine & Russia supply arms to Gaza.
U's stolen from USA "aid" of course.
-
@blablarg18 not stolen... Ukraine sells the weapons we give to them.
