Former U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown (D-FL) pleads guilty in fraud case
-
A fraud case against former U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown has ended with her guilty plea to a tax charge in a charity fraud case. The 75-year-old Democrat had been convicted in 2017 of 18 counts and served more than two years in prison before her release in 2020 on humanitarian grounds due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Her initial conviction was overturned after an appeals court found one juror had been improperly removed.
A plea agreement filed Wednesday says that although the charge carries a possible three-year prison sentence, prosecutors recommend that the judge not impose any additional prison time, but order that Brown pay more than $62,000 in restitution.

Personally, I think that anyone who creates and/or enforces laws should get a 5x penalty when they break the law.

So much for "equal protection" --
See my earlier post about your warped view of "freedom"...
How's Putin these days?

As it currently stands, those that create and/or enforce the laws can break them at will.
How many laws, that her party put in place, has Scotland's First Minister broken and the police refuse to charge her? The same goes for countless politicians.
Biden's first hour in office he signed the EO mandating masks on ALL federal property, which he promptly violated with his family. Similar thing with many governors.
"Equal protection" my ass.

Oh, I'm not claiming elected officials don't sometimes get away with things they shouldn't! But this ain't that!
You wanted to punish her MORE because she's an elected official... that's just as wrong as not punishing her!
I get it - as a Trumpite, you don't really get the concept of "equality"... it's an anathema to your belief system that you're right, every one else is wrong, and nanny-nanny-boo-boo!

Yeah, I know - pointing out the CORRUPT politicians is so "being a troll"
The problem you have with this - in spite of this being a Democrat - is that the "field" of corrupt politicians is RIFE (nay, overcrowded) by Trumpites! And, while you love to point out the faults of others, you are loath to allow for the possibility of "bad apples" in your own fold.
THIS is why you are a hypocrite and an evangelist for a lost, faithless cause.

Nope, you're just a troll
