      Now that the restriction is lax, I don't know about you guys, here in our country being a predominantly Catholic, we really observe the Lenten Season.

      In fact, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday is declared as holiday so no work and school classes.

      Some of the tradition here will make you shake your head as some devotees really have themselves nailed on the Cross, some perform (usually male) self flagellation as a sign of penance.

        @kalayaan A thumbs-up for raising my knowledge with those VERY vivid pictures.

        As someone who doesn't follow a religion, I never cease to be amazed at how far some of the most fervent believers will go in these external manifestations of contrition, proof of faith, piety, etc.

        Ouch.

            @lololulu19 I doubt it.

            But even so: It's bigotry, to make fun of devotions or religious practices that you simply don't understand. Right? I mean, would you ever post such comments if it were extreme Muslim, Jewish or Hindu practices?

            And commie practices - how about those lockdowns in Shanghai right now where troops starve millions of people for weeks and slay their pets in the streets? Pure curiosity: do extreme atheist/ commie/ covidist practices bother you? Those things, in their way, also being religions.

              Pope John Paul ][ self flagellated and slept on his back on the floor in the nude to get "closer to god".

                @lololulu19 "I realize CNN is fake news, but... [proceeds to treat CNN as somehow real]"

                You're pulling my leg, of course.
                And - Way to avoid my questions. Good job.

                    @blablarg18 It's another Sunday!

                    I slept-in late despite the clanging of the church bells, then found some excellent porn (a guy with a pair of huge Easter eggs) and rubbed one out, after which I took a hot shower and realized the true essence of being blessed.

                      @flozen So... you don't care about Lent or Easter SO MUCH, that you went well out of your way to visit a Lent/Easter thread and describe in detail your not caring. Now that's a guilty conscience. LOLololol

                      But when I said Blessings on all, that means you too! God bless!

                        @blablarg18 About "caring" -- I found K's pics of hard-core Lenten rituals very interesting, glad he brought this thread to the Forum.

                        You can keep those blessings for me, and in return, I won't seek the guidance you need from my trusty Ouija board, lol, lol.

                        End of comments.
