Would You Be Straight if You Had The Choice?
-
Nope. I'd rather become bi/pan.
-
No. I feel lucky to be gay. Now I am living in Australia, but I grew up in India. It is harder for gay people there but the lives of straight people seem worse somehow. Even in Australia, straight people's lives are so conventional and boring. Straight married men are dead.
-
I can't picture "straight" since there are a lot of great guys out there. I could imagine the upside of wanting to sleep with anyone who comes along, though.
-
The questions about the "red or the blue pill" is very common in LGBTq people.
I think if i had the choise years ago, when I was a teenager, I wished I could have been straight. It would have been so much simplier especially in high school.
i have grown up however to learn to accept myself and now I wouldnt change my sexual orientation.

I'm on the same page here. I used to have these thoughts when I was a teenager.
I'm wondering, though.. Do straight people ever feel any (social or whatsoever) pressure to 'learn to accept themselves' ? -

Of course they do. think of all of the industries that would shut down if people were satisfied with themselves.
There are straight men who: go bald, get fat, don't get the careers that they want, never get to play professional sports, get turned down by women….
-
When my mother was alive, I had to keep any gay feelings secret as she was a major homophobe…
But while I'm currently in a relationship with a woman, I prefer to be bi instead of fully straight.
-
Nope, not in a million years.
I love men, and gay sex way too much. And being straight doesn't guarantee that you would be any happier anyway, they have to deal with the same amount of bull crap in life that we all do. It's just human nature.

**Would You Be Straight if You Had The Choice?
Have you ever thought about that?
**
This very question always infuriated me. I was on fire when a therapist asked me that one day. You don't realize it implies that there is something wrong with being gay. I wouldn't change SHIT!! Although there ARE a lot of issues in the gay community; I've also learned a lot about the world, things that I don't think I could have learned otherwise (if I was straight).

I would want to get to be an 18 year old girl for a day so I can get gangbanged by straight men. Football teams, swim teams, frat boys, builders, homeless men, I'd service them all.

me too. this is so hot!
-
Sex and hot men aside; no, I would never want to be straight. Solely because I absolutely LOVE our community.
-
I would not be straight, if given the choice.
-
It depends on the socio-economic environment.
I just watched a "Last Week Tonight with Jamie Oliver" clip about the gender disparity in China due to the One Child Policy.
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2019/10/07/last_week_tonight_looks_at_chinas_one_child_policy.htmlThere are apparently 36 million more native-born males than females.
It would be a nightmare to be born straight in China if you do not have the right family background, education, looks, etc.
Straight and forever single is a very real possibility for these folks. -
Interesting question - whilst i was coming to terms with my sexuality i would have jumped at the chance. In hindsight i know that might have been a massive mistake. I'm happy as i am, embraced by friends, family, boyfriend etc.
-
Right now, no, I wouldn't. However, if this choice had been given to me by the time I was 6 years old, I would have taken it, no second thoughts, in a heartbeat. Growing up gay is always difficult, no kid likes to feel different from the rest. Plus, kids could be horrible to others.

Same

Right now, there's nothing I can do about it, so I better rock that gay status (lol). But honestly, in combination with massive social anxiety, being gay doesn't really help. So yes, life would be easier if I was straight.
-
for me, no. but i think if you live in a country where being gay is not accepted, then some would like to change
-
Yes, definitely. Merely because of the family aspect. I would love to start a family, create babies that look like me and my partner. I'm sick of horny guys who are only interested in me because I'm attractive and have a nice butt.
