Maybe I misunderstood, but GT wants me to upload  60.68 GB of video footage?  60.68 GB. I don't think I have that many clips on a single hard drive.

Maybe we should be forced to upload a video bi-weekly or once a month cause 60 GB is a lot of content to ask of a person.

With respect, at the time of this writing you have a ratio of 0.100 – in other words, you have obtained TEN times the content than you have contributed.

You've been a member of GT since 2016, which, as a staggering understatement, has given you ample time to familiarize yourself with the clearly marked boards, threads and posts about ratios -- when your numbers fall into the danger zones, how to earn seedpoints in various fashions, etc.

And with your "Avg ULSpeed: Ø271.57 kB" -- that's quite powerful! -- it's even more of a mystery why you couldn't have left your torrent files open to give back with ease, and raise your ratio.

GT members don't expect you to contribute 60 GB of content at once, now that your privileges are endangered or suspended.  That's something you could have addressed, and at a leisurely pace -- during the long, long period that you basically have just "taken."

Actually, I've been a member for a lot longer. I just wasn't using torrents anymore due to streaming sites. I just started using GT again in hopes of finding a clip that was never posted. I stuck around and DL what I did. It hasn't been a "long, long period." I probably had next to nothing in my DL history prior to 2 weeks ago.

I don't remember these rules and restrictions being enforced a few years ago. However, that was then and this is now and I respect that.

I do leave my torrent files open but that isn't enough, clearly.

I was going to contribute what I have but 60 GB is excessive. I'm essentially uploading clips as much I download them when I never signed up to do that. I see if I can contribute here and there but 60 GB? I'd rather deal with those pesky ads on streaming websites. Also, I did contribute and based on that contribution I was given 12 clips to download. Whether or not I choose to download all at once or over the span of 2 months is how I choose to download them. Taxing us by the GB is absurd, especially when we probably don't have that much content to give.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, how do I resolve this? Should I bother or just say Goodnight n Go?

We have always had "fair share" rules.  When the site started, we had stricter rules but made them less strict a few years later and again a few years after that.  I'm sure that the current "fair share" rules have been in place for at least 6 years.

Maybe you are confusing another gay torrent site.

Clearly you have no idea how the system works.

When you download a torrent, you give back as much as you take.  That could be a new video or whatever, OR just seed the same torrent you downloaded so another person can get it.

I had another account prior to 2016.  I Think I was a member since like 2012 on the other account that was disabled. Again, I didn’t use torrents like that. I only used them to find what I needed and go. I did not know it was a give and take community. Plus, the torrents I did download were collection files. How was I to know I’d have to upload and reseed a 40 GB collection? Had I known that, I would have been really selective about what I downloaded given the fact that most of them were junk videos.

Download large freeleach torrents and seed them, that is your best bet.

I believe you could also make a cash donation to GayTorrent.ru which will buy upload.

Oh, wow! Would you LOOK at my ratio! A little less reprimanding and a little more action works best for me. Thanks again. Delete this thread.

Threads aren't deleted at GT, even ones started by flighty, self-indulgent members who aggressively refuse to meet even the most basic requirements – namely, to read the rules before they begin to use the site -- i.e., download in earnest.

You are well deserving of all the observations made in this thread.  To these, I'll add that in my many years here, I've rarely -- if ever -- encountered an individual with such a misplaced sense of entitlement.  Yeesh.

Very well stated flozen. I tried to put it into topwords earlier but couldn't be as concise as you were. 🙂

I only saw this today and my reply is a hindsight but yes, you misunderstood what Gt.ru wants you to do when you fall below your current minimum maintaining ratio.

GT.ru wants you to seed (read your statistics), "you have to seed so and so byte size before you reach your crm". This will come from the torrents you are currently seeding whether it's your own upload or not.

Well, everybody can't be as original, entertaining and honest as me. If you ask me, it was well deserve based on how condescending you were. All I did was ask a question and look for a solution. Lecture your child, not me. That's all.

BTW, no one reads rules. When people sign up for an Instagram accounts, do you honestly think they're reading the TOS? No. We learn as we go!

But back to GT.ru: when signing in (even in 2012) you promised to read the rules and FAQ. In 2012 there was a minimum ratio required of 0.35 that was later reduced to 0.25. Later on (IIRC in 2013) we implemented our still active rationator which will send warning messages to members in case they come in danger of a too low ratio. The rules and FAQ are still available from our homepage did you ever read them? I doubt it.

Ok - you uploaded a (1) new torrent but only earned 20.75 seed bonus points for seeding - that means seeding for about 41,5 hours. That's a really bad seeding time for 3 years membership  :police:

I see you’re an exaggerator. In what way is reading rules for a torrent beneficial or harmful to my life in a way that driving a car is? Get real. Lol.

Thank you, but you’re late to the party. I already knew that I could upload files but I  wasn’t going to upload 60 GB worth of content. I wasn’t expecting to have to seed or upload just as much content as I DL. There needs to be a big ass disclaimer on collection torrents stating: If you download this torrent of 60 GB, you will spend the next day or two seeding this torrent (Freeleech or not)or be required to upload 60 GB of content. Luckily, the issue has been resolved and I know how to resolve it in the future.

There actually is a big ass disclaimer on this and every torrent site. It's called peer-to-peer sharing, and when you download you're expected to help with uploading…you're not just a consumer here. I realize you're a little late to the game - I offer this, again, as friendly advice.

Edit: And who the hell rated my previous post as cheesy?  No - you're cheesy!!
