Lube is just the first step. If you're new to bottoming, do yourself a huge favor and find a patient top. 1) Relax. 2) Lube. 3) Relax. 4) ass play. 5) Relax.
The right partner will take the time to help you relax and open up. If they just dive right in, you're not going to enjoy it very much (unless you've been doing it a long time and are into extreme abrupt entries.)

Unheard of, no. But it's uncommon for gay men to not like anal sex in any shape or form.
The reason why I say it's not unheard of, is because me myself included, I do not really care for anal sex. I'd rather just not do it.
