The name calling and lack of civility…

Call out your own side too, because honestly they're not going to listen to us conservatives.
My post is for everyone, not just conservative posters. I used raphjd as an example because he has been deflecting and derailing multiple discussions instead of framing an argument on the discussion at hand. And I wholly disagree with you on posting an article title and quotes from an article without stating a personal claim on said title and/or quotes. What is wrong with someone posting an article from a reputable source and only putting it there to start a debate, not to flame people, but to start a debate on the actual article? Why not discuss the merits of that article? Why not make an attempt to prove the article wrong? If a professor prompts the class on a topic, your first response shouldn't be, "this topic is stupid in my opinion; therefore, I want the topic dead."
And you want to talk to me about toxicity when 3 of the same members have been constantly day-to-day downgrading my reputation for the past 2-3 weeks straight? I can see who has been downgrading my reputation on here and it is the same 3 users, 1 of which I clearly pointed out in this thread: https://forum.gaytorrent.ru/index.php?topic=48241.0 As a result, I've went from having a reputation of 11 to one of -3. That is unfair, especially given that I haven't constantly been giving negative reputation responses to them the way they have to me.

Did you or did you not say this in another post, "Maxine Waters makes black people look bad,"? So I ask you again, who is the real liar here?
Maxine Waters makes black people look bad is not a statement of fact, but an opinion. So saying that he is "the real liar" is not only a personal attack, but also wrong. Do we really need to spam the forum with all the articles generalizing Trump supporters? Because you KNOW those bigoted articles exist and are 100% serious, whereas what raphjd said was just a quip. So what you're saying is also hypocritical, because again, you're only calling out one side.
It is a disgusting generalization and it was said to derail an argument. He called me a liar and a partisan hack, yet I'm in the wrong for asking if he's the liar? How dare you ignore him calling me a liar and act as if I questioned if he is a liar without a reason as a "personal attack?" Posting articles, with the links I may add, is not spamming. If the topics of said articles had nothing to do with politics, then they should be considered spam or should be moved to another thread. This will be my last response to you because I'm not discussing civility with someone who is clearly ignoring certain posts while claiming I'm the only one hurling attacks. Goodbye.

You are a liar because you claim to want civility, but attack me.
If I, or another conservative, did that to a liberal, the site would be broken from you guys smashing the hell out of the REPORT button.
I noticed you didn't go into the John Lewis conversation, where I pointed out recent 2 proven lies by him and you went bat shit crazy claiming I hate black people because of it.
You and your leftist friends are thread Nazis who think they control each and every topic. We're only allowed to talk about Obama and Hillary if it's in worshipping tones.

You haven't proven that he's a liar based on what you quoted. It's clear you're making this a personal vendetta, as opposed to what you originally claimed.

I'm not ignoring anything. I don't agree with posters who start off everything with "libtard" either FYI. However, I am pointing out your hypocrisy. If that's too much for you, then sure, goodbye.
And I'm sure that you ignoring a poster, who is much more moderate than other conservatives in this forum, will do wonders to bridge the gap between the two sides. I'm sure you'll think that you'll continue wondering why these forums are devolving into insane toxicity, without realizing your own role.

Questioning if you are a liar is not attacking you. You directly called me a liar on multiple occasions. Are those also attacks? Also, when have I reported YOU? Name the time and show the report. I'm waiting.
I've only objected to bringing up Hillary and Obama when a post has absolutely nothing to do with them, but if you want to bring them into a discussion that has nothing to do with them, I'll continue to point out the irrelevance as I've always done. I've never said, "stop talking about Hillary or President Obama if you have nothing nice to say about them." "Thread Nazi," is another attack. Got any more?
Relating to the John Lewis situation, the only thing I repeatedly posted was his legacy and how his legacy was related to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I specifically stated that I personally disagreed with him saying #45 was illegitimate. I can actually copy and post where I said I disagreed with him questioning #45's legitimacy as president. I stated I believed #45 was elected legitimately and is our president, I have always held that belief and made it known. All I said was John Lewis has a legacy and so does Dr. King and those legacies are related and I support those legacies. I asked you did you agree on the importance of those legacies and as usual, you deflected and derailed; leaving me to believe you do not view the advancement of people of color as important in America; therefore, you left me no choice but to question if you are indeed a racist and/or white supremacist.

Lol. Literally, don't agree with me = racist white supremacist.
I agree with raphjd here, so I guess that makes me a white supremacist too, despite the fact that my skin tone is closer to yours.
Also, do you even realize that you are the one being blatantly racist here? You are literally conflating political opinion with skin color.

I never said I was from day 1 someone trying to bring civility to this forum. Carefully read my original post in this very thread and show me where I proclaimed, "I am the epitome of civil posters." Yes, I have not always remained civil but that is not the point of this thread. The point of this thread is that we all make an attempt to do better starting now and moving forward. We don't have to treat each other with massive respect or simply ignore each other all the time, but it is important to frame your arguments and state your position clearly. You can frame your argument and state your position without childish name calling or bringing in wholly irrelevant factors to deflect and/or derail.
If I offended raphjd or anyone else, I do apologize. I've stated to raphjd that I agree with him many times on the issue of immigration and I sympathize with the reason why he's been living in the UK. I've stated that I agree with Frederick many times that Facebook's punishment of free speech is a very, very real thing because I have seen it first hand. The same with Youtube. I've also criticized the left's suppression of free speech, particularly on college campuses. There are acts of violence being committed by those on the left to keep people from speaking and the same isn't happening on the right, and I've gotten down voted for speaking on that truth. My point: I have been willing to agree with people on here and I have been attempting to be more civil, I can't say the same for others.

I was talking about John Lewis the Congressman (his job for the last 30ish years). Nothing I said had anything to do with civil rights. You made it about racism.

My point: I have been willing to agree with people on here and I have been attempting to be more civil, I can't say the same for others.
Fair enough but you seem to be the only one. You even get downvoted by your side for being honest. Doesn't that bother you?

No it does not bother me. What bothers me is people taking what I say out of context and applying it to things that have absolutely nothing to do with another topic, something both you and raphjd have done. It shows that neither of you have any intention of being civil, mindful of your posts, reasonable with your opinions, supportive of others who actually agree with you, or sympathetic to people who do not look/think like you. I have officially given up and will no longer debate anything with people who have horrible intentions and continue to be unreasonable. Why should I find things to agree with you on and trying to find common ground when you have no intention on doing the same? Done.

You clearly targeted me, then got butt hurt when I responded.
