I take showers daily, but a good bath every 2-3 months is always very relaxing.

_In our country, most homes (except maybe for the really rich ones) don't have a bath tub, just shower douche, so here, taking a bath means shampooing your hair and soaping your body and rinse in the shower douche. Some don't even have shower douche, just "tabo" (rougly translated as dipper) and a big pail and taking a shower here, means a quick one (meaning just wetting your body, enough to remove sweat and dirt).

                    I always take a bath_

Shower, because it just seems like a chore I want to get out of the way more often than not. I usually find soaking in a warm tub a little uncomfortable, too. It's hard to describe, but after a while, it just feels very "muggy", especially on my feet and toes, and I can't wait to get out and feel the cool air on my skin. Sometimes, if I feel bad, I like to sit in the shower and just let the water run over me. Yes, I know it's a terrible waste of water. I don't do it very often, though.

It was baths–as a kid growing up, and up until we had a place that had a shower.

These days, the rare bath is strictly for relaxation (and the rarer romance)--bubbles and a "blunt," soak and smoke–and never for cleaning; and regardless of which, always followed with a shower to wash up.

Maybe it wasn’t so much so as a kid, with less of me in proportion to a tubful of water, but there’s a lot more of me now, and unless I’ve showered or washed immediately before my "tubbing"–as done in some countries like Japan--I really don’t feel clean after a bath.

I picked up a great dual head fixture from Costco about 10 years ago for less than a hundred bucks. It has an adjustable rain head shower, and a handheld shower with multiple spray settings that rests in an angle/height adjustable unit shared with a mirror, on a slider bar that also has a couple of convenient height adjustable hooks/holders on it.

Aside from its various spray settings, the handheld shower is great for rinsing off, and cleaning the shower and tub. With the mirror, I floss and shave in the shower once I’m through washing.

There’s a bit of irony in my stating that I shower, and that washing up is never the intended purpose of the rare bath, and the timing of this post. For about a week now, it’s been baths only and no before or after shower…or any shower. A valve broke on my beloved shower fixture. 😞

Fortunately, for the purposes of gifting, I ended up grabbing a few of them. I just haven’t taken the time to swap them out (but I’d better do it soon because I am really getting tired of the bath thing!). 😕

When it comes to having to deal with one my vascular cluster headaches or stomach issues, I'm always impressed (and very happy) with the therapeutic effects of just sitting under a super-hot shower! 😄

Fortunately for me (albeit not for the environment), water and heating costs are incorporated in my apartment rent so I stay in there as long as I need (and want >:D).

I wanted to add that other than those long periods (at times over an hour–sometimes even falling asleep) my regular shower is only about 15-20 minutes for all the washing and rinsing, plus the time to floss, shave (when I do shave), and every now and then do the pumice thing on the feet; but, I do turn the water off when I'm ready to start soaping and scrubbing, turning it back on and off as needed for the rinse, and that other stuff, lastly spraying the shower walls and curtain (and a final spritz on me). 🙂

...they really need to lengthen that time-limit to modify your post 🙂

Depending where I live ( having access to a large bathtub or not) : if I have a huge bathtub then it's bath every night 🙂 Yep that's a lot of water but I dont live in a country where there isnt much. Water we use comes from the river, it's cleaned then you use it, then it's cleaned again and goes right back to the river so towns  closer to the sea will use the water you already used. Basically If I drink tap water that water already went through at least 20 bodies who drank and pissed it hence the chlorine taste to disinfect it 😉  But it cost money in heating the water that's for sure, though gas is very cheap.
