Sometimes users upload torrents with good to very good screenshot quality; then after loading the torrent the resolution is very small and the quality is as bad either so that people are being disappointed - if not - deceived by screenshots.

I assume you mean publicity "stills" rather than "grabs" / "contact sheets" made from the movie by the poster..

Why don't posters [who use windows as their OS] simply include an "image grab", made with "image grabber2 / or 2.net".. or "Video Thumbnails Maker2" [both are freeware] & set the options to show the video & audio details..

Downloaders can then judge quality before DLing..

I was talking about the FORMAT not the title..

To rename a movie not in a folder.. When your torrent client asks where you want the movie "SAVED AS" you can change the title.. eg torrent for "[Staxus]-Something 6.avi" can be saved as "Staxus - Something #6.avi" & your torrent client will show the title as "Staxus - Something #6.avi".. If you already have 100% of "Staxus - Something #6.avi" then you will be a seeder of "[Staxus]-Something 6.avi"..

For an avi. the only way of being 100% certain is to re-format or convert with a program such as "TMPGEnc" [ie change the dimensions or the video bit rate or the output format] but it would take my comp' about 6 hours to convert your example above.. [It is my understanding that fully working "very extended trial period" versions of TMPGEnc are avaiable on sites like TPB [torrents] & katz.cd [HotFile etc] if you are comfortable getting & installing]..

For wmvs you could try simply changing the format to .asf [for XP.. go to the folder holding the movie & click> Tools > Folder Options > View > empty the box Hide Extension for Known File Types > click Apply.. You should then see the .wmv after the Title.. Click the title once.. after a second click a second time.. move the cursor to after the v in wmv click & backspce out the .wmv & then type .asf
Repeat > Tools to >View & fill the Hide Ext box > Apply..
[NOTE: I have written the previous in a way that I would want something explained.. I'm not suggesting that YOU are unknowledged.. just showing that I am in need of the step by step method]..

Even though .asf will play on WMP or any other player.. Your torrent client should see it as a different file type & a hash check by the jumper will show 0%.. ie he can't jump on unless he does the above too..

Early jumping on is only an issue here, not on public trackers or the .org site which got no minimum ratio rules.

The answer is really quite simple..
I, like the vast majority of members, am in the habit of clicking “Browse” from the “Home Page” to get straight to the pr0n &, normally, have no interest in reading the “Forum” [see below].. or read the “Toolbar” beyond “Browse”..

Which is why [IMO & to get back on topic] it would be more friendly / helpful / effective for blackdid to add a jpg similar to the attached [note typo] in his torrent post where even idiots, like myself, would have to see it.. Surely it's better to educate, in a place it will be seen, & thereby avoid the rule break, rather that punish after the event..

The average “user” will only try to get help when he can't get his daily fix of Pr0n..
or, as in my case, wants to ask a question once every 3 years.. & do it in the wrong way through ignorance or apathy..

When the site first started & the membership was much smaller mods etc were more accepting of members mistakes & the forum was more relaxed & inviting.. Now that the membership is high the mods, understandably, can not spare the time to diplomatically explain for the 400th time an obvious solution to a problem.. The forum is a much more “shoot from the hip” / “say it as it is” / “take it or leave it” sort of place..

The fun & entertainment for both the mods & members has mostly gone on ALL Forum sites as members now “tweet” & “face book” amongst themselves.. Even the .org “shoutbox” is drying up..
Forums & shoutboxes , ircs etc are now mainly a place for just “preaching to the converted” or “brown nosing” to the mods & admins..

PS.. @ mgr: I actually considered PMing you on the .org site about my problem accessing the Forum here.. but decided it might not be a good idea to disturb your few minutes of “down time” over there with my problem here.. & I'm sooooo glad I didn't.. & THANKS to the mod & the ex-mod who both PMed me “there” with the advise:

Click "Profile" on the blue bar at the top of the page
Scroll to the end of the page and change your password, then click "Submit Changes"
Log out and log back in (actually last time it happened I didn't even have to logout just submit change of password.
Now try to get to the forum using the option on the blue bar at the top of the page and it should work fine

To explain.. When you buy a movie & rip or convert it using a program like TMPEnc the resulting avi etc is unique.. If I convert, using the same program, a 2nd time there will be a slight change in the result.. By downloading your torrent & doing a hash check I could see that it WAS my conversion [100% not %99.9] & I left before connecting to you or any Ls..

And if the jump-on guy has a fast upload speed, that's 10 time worse for the original uploader, is it so hard to understand ?

AS for the "Btw".. I used to post torrents here as WBfluff untill I got sued by EL & had to cancel that membership & obtain a new one as WB2 [thanks to an admin]..
The movies that I rent or buy & then rip or convert are now only posted on another site with the request that others will post them here.. If they are posted directly here then I ask for only a simple THANKS added to my posts "there".. If they arrive here via the .errio site then I don't expect a THANKS..

Though it might be better if you temporarilly change your security settings while you initial seed.. so that members can see you are trying to improve your ratio & are taking part / contributing to this community.. ratio only shows in Forum posts.. NOT torrent posts.. If we can see how many points you need [350points = 5GB] it helps us to judge our gifts..

I have to confess that I tend to add "comments" like the one above in the torrent forums of sites as more members are likely to read them there.. The members who read forum posts tend NOT to be those who need reminders about good manners etc.. It's usually the members who only visit the torrent forums who cause "upsets" & who would benefit from the odd reminder..
I will add a PS to my next couple of torrent posts on the .org site & see if they have any result.. My PM to him in December had no reply or effect..

While I have always encouraged others to share my torrent posts on other sites [as I only post on the .org site] I find it really annoying that a member of both sites will ask for seed bonus here but not add a "thank you" there..

I agree that the new forum is a vast improvement on the old one.. & the working "search" function makes it so much easier to find old threads..
My only regret is that the ratio of a poster can't be viewed from the "Requests Forum".. I try to UL requests from members with a ratio over 1.00 & ignore those with low ratios..

I can understand that there will be delays, as mods & admins can't be constantly looking out for new posts.. raphjd needs the odd hour off to polish his helmet.. his forum-police helmet.. & Tom has to time off to feed his leather body harness so that it doesn't feel like sandpaper against his nipples [or so that it does :whistle:].. but I hate my UL bandwidth not being used.. That won't work, as it would be nearly impossible to match the files so they can be joined.
Just upload the whole thing.

They could with something like TMPGEnc3.. It would convert,cut & join both pieces even if they are not compatible & overlap in the timeline..
If my version is the same as the one posted [resolution, frame rate, etc].. the new torrent file for the complete movie would allow everyone could use the part they already have so they dont have to start from the beginning again..

My safety margin has just been wiped out by the DLing of an old post seeded by a lone member with a bandwidth that makes me green with envy [he sent me 1.7Gb in just over an hour & I could not UL as I was the only L].. & I am now only just above a ratio of 1.00..
The best way to increase it would be to post a movie or 2.. BUT.. I just can't figure out what the members here like..
A search for the usual "twink studios" [Triumvirate, Helix/8Teen, Tino/18Today,Gordi,Hammer Ent, Vimpex etc.] finds only a few or none.. I don't see requests for them in the "Requests Forum"
Does this mean that there is no interest in them.. OR.. that everyone already has them from other sites??

As there is no "Torrents I can post" sub forum, is it allowed to post a list in the "General Discussion Forum" ?? or.. Post the covers & image grabs of the ones I can offer as an "Images" torrent?? [If YES should they be zipped or just in a folder??]

You are "preaching to the converted".. Everyone who bothers to read & take part in the non-torrent forums KNOWS that
without the hard work of the unpaid Mods & Admins there would be no torrent sites.. & ..

The torrent system is not "FREE" for those of us that rent / buy DVDs to rip or visit PPV sites to rent & then UNDRuM new movies / clips to post on sites like this.. OR..
for those of us who donate to this or other sites.. Though it IS "FREE" for those who just grab as much as they can until their ratios get them suspended

To give a bonus for the TIME they stay seeding once completed doesn't seem to be working very well..

To explain my comment further I would like to point out that I have been getting bonus points for "seeding" a clip that I have completed.. There are 23 seeders & 1leecher.. I have 40kbps allocated & available to UL but can't connect with the lone leecher.. If I allocated my full UL bandwidth to get a new DL or to post a new movie here or at another site my bonus would still increase for as long as I remained a "non-ULing seeder"
