My upload speed is a little better than yours (I have it capped at 200 kb/s) but I have not experienced anything like this. It might be some of the settings in your torrent client that are causing the problems. How well/easily can other peers connect to you? Are you using "initial seeding"?

RE: Asking For Seed Bonus Gifts
@Uwe:
At least that member DOES upload new own torrents, which makes him positively outstanding from the masses of the members. Not asking for SBP would even be better IMHO.
I agree with that; on the other hand, the fact that he has been a member for nearly 3 years and appears to be experienced with torrents makes him, in my opinion, more responsible for managing his ratio than, let's say, a new member who has never used torrents before.

RE: Asking For Seed Bonus Gifts
Saw this in a torrent description today: "Please help me with seedbonus, my DL rights are taken. Thanxxx" What offended me the most about it is that he has upload credit of over 400 GB so he should understand the ratio rules. Also, he has been given over 5000 points but has only given out 50 points. He has uploaded nearly 20 torrents so he knows how to increase his ratio and is only 12 GB in the hole. One would only need to upload 4-5 1GB torrents to satisfy "The Rationator".

Confused
I was under the impression that ALL Lucas films from 2009 on were banned from the tracker. I notified an auto-approval user about one of his torrents that falls into this category and he stated that a moderator had approved it. Which is it? I have several that I can upload if they are not banned.

RE: What Methods do YOU Use to Catalog, Tag, and Manage your Movies & Torrent Files?
I use a spreadsheet to keep track of my files (location, studio, etc.) and to make sure I don't download a duplicate. Personally, I don't understand why you keep your torrent files; if you want to reseed just re-download the file and point it to the location on your hard drive. I never download extra files (pictures, etc.) unless it is subtitles. I was not aware of any penalty for not download the complete torrent in the case of multiple files; if this is true, can someone explain it to me.
Have you tried eXtreme Movie Manager: http://tracker.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?id=103012. I know that it will manage actors, directors, etc. and will maybe work with tags.

RE: Italian professor claims Rome fell due to rise of homosexuality
Again… I don't know about in all countries, but at least in any area that calls themselves a "civilized" society, what ever happened to "separation of church and state"?
Ummm… that's a U.S. concept only. You live in Canada, right? Isn't your head of state the head of a major religion? She is referred to as "Defender of the Faith." Most, if not all, European countries have a state religion. In northern Europe, it's Lutheran, southern Europe is Catholic, and the British Commonwealth worldwide is Anglican.

RE: Airline cuts All Black gay kiss scene
Let's look at the "you need to lighten up" concept outside this single issue.
A Police woman just won a a bunch of money here in Scotland because here supervisor was routinely making homophobic remarks to/about her. She kept complaining about his constant barrage of nasty comments and every time she was told to "lighten up, he doesn't mean anything by it".
Imagine if she were black or jewish or muslim or some other group. No one would dare tell her to "lighten up, he doesn't mean anything by it". The supervisor would have been fired immediately.
That's comparing apples to oranges. The portrayal of a gay employee who does not get cussed out, beat up or killed simply for being gay is actually a positive not a negative. Sure, we all would have liked to see the rugby player kiss the flight attendant but it was a step in the right direction.
As far as the professor's comments: "Those who can, do; those who can't, teach" seems to apply. The man is an idiot. In fact, the more I think about it, pulling the video suggests that there is something wrong with being gay.

RE: Airline cuts All Black gay kiss scene
It's true that all groups need to lighten up.
However, it seems that the world demands that gays lighten up while everyone else refuses to do the same. And for this very reason I won't give stereotype because people will scream that I'll a racist and whatnot.
The world wasn't. It was a GAY flight attendant who said that just like gay people in this forum have said that. Have you seen Air NZ's safety videos? They are funny (except the one with John Travolta), homoerotic, and very original. Remember, this is the airline that had transgendered flight attendants long before Thai Air decided to.

RE: For first time, majority in US back gay marriage: poll
I've always wondered what the poll results would be if they included a choice like "don't really care". Another interesting poll question would be: "Would legalizing same gender marriage affect your personal life in any way?" If truth be told, I think that a large majority of Americans don't give a fuck about the issue.

RE: Asking For Seed Bonus Gifts
I don't know about other torrent clients, but BitTorrent and uTorrent do save a copy of the .torrent file for every torrent that you've ever imported into them.
I don't know about uTorrent but in BitTorrent, if you tell it to remove and delete the torrent, then it deletes the torrent file from your computer and you would have to re-download the file if you want to seed it again.

RE: ***The last book you read…***
I just finished Uprising by Randy Boyd. Very different gay novel although the ending is a bit cliched. If your public library uses overdrive.com you should be able to check out the e-book.

RE: [petition] Making it mandatory to give details about codec & resolution
@Uwe:
Another idea might be to create a High-Quality category (similar to DVD-R) with minimum standards. I have seen torrents listed (HQ) in the description but are not what I would consider to be high quality.
"HQ" is an attribute originally given to the VHS standard improvements (not really High Quality), then used for DivX/Xivd using decent quality encoding settings i/o of pressing the size to one 700 MB CD-R by all means. Still such a "HQ" AVI got a lower quality than the original DVD.
IMHO what you are looking at, is a HD (High Definition) section, something which should be discussed in it's own topic. I would set the minimum requirement to a resolution of 720x1280 pixel, but that is not all, the codec/bit rate combination must be good, too;
.
We got already the ~HD tag, so uploader can tag their clips (there are many in HD) or movies being in HD by it.Honestly, I don't really care enough to start a new topic. It was just a thought about creating standards for these tags/categories. There is nothing right now that would keep an uploader from adding it to all of his torrents whether it applies or not.

RE: [petition] Making it mandatory to give details about codec & resolution
I voted yes; however I think a better choice would be "strongly recommended". I include some technical details in my uploads. I obtain these from Media Player Classic. Just click on File, then Properties, then the Details tab in the Properties window. It is an easy copy & paste (which is more difficult in VLC). Here is a sample:
Audio: Windows Media Audio 48000Hz stereo 96Kbps [Raw Audio 0]
Video: Windows Media Video 9 720x480 (4:3) 29.97fps 2000Kbps [Raw Video 1]I am not an overly technical person, so I don't know if this provides all of the information desired. Also, I usually include the running time as well, as I hate downloading what appears to be a full movie and then finding out that it is not.
Another idea might be to create a High-Quality category (similar to DVD-R) with minimum standards. I have seen torrents listed (HQ) in the description but are not what I would consider to be high quality.

RE: Asking For Seed Bonus Gifts
I am trying to make an impression that has more force than a "thankyou" I can freely generate at the press of a button. I want the uploader to know that I am giving them something that has actual value in this system. I have noticed that the "power uploaders" have amazing libraries and appear to get satisfaction from providing downloads that are highly prized by someone.
As an uploader, I use the seed bonus information more than the thank you simply because everyone could press the ty button but it "costs" to gift seed bonus; thus the ensuing info is more definitive. What I would like to see is that the seed bonus stats and the downloads completed stats would show on the "My Torrents" lists. The snatch info is listed but does GT.ru really have 68 million users? (My torrent that lists 68 million snatches only has 33 completed downloads, which I don't think is correct either). That same torrent though lists 100 seed bonus points and 28 ty's. This pretty much tells me that most everyone that downloaded it pressed the ty button but some people really enjoyed it as my average seed bonus is probably 15-20.
P.S. For the record, I do not and never have asked or begged for seed bonus.

RE: Jump-on / re-seed during new uploads
What a bunch of whiny babies.
Another thought: Jumping on is only possible to files which have been shared elsewhere already. uploading torrents for own genuine movie versions makes jumping on impossible.
Exactly, so why is someone who obtained their copy of movie from someone/some place else claiming that it is THEIRS. All of the stuff I upload, I obtain elsewhere on the net and if someone else has the exact same copy, I can't complain about them helping to seed the torrent. It doesn't belong to me, not legally, not morally; no reasonable person would claim that.
For people that live in industrialized countries and have slow upload speeds, here's a clue: either fix your client/system settings or get a decent ISP. Hell, there are hundreds (maybe thousands) of guys on here from third world countries will good upload speeds so there is no reason why most people shouldn't have a good upload speed. You will always have ratio problems if you insist on using dial-up speeds. I don't understand why the rest of us (who know how to fix our settings/have good ISPs) should be restricted. If the admin/mods want to pander to these kind of people, then use some of NeoStrada's suggestions, don't penalize the rest of us.

RE: Member's choice for my next upload
@ultimate:
A few years ago I saw "To Moscow with love": nice movie, and the best scene is the one with the double-headed dildo and the two guys having fun.
For the rest, Michael Lucas is inexpressive as usual.
He reminds me of Zoolander.
