Ich habe jetzt mehrere andere (alte) Computer versucht mit Erfolg

• Win XP Pro US + AVG als Virenchecker : OK, aber PNP erscheint nicht in der Fritzbox, obwohl freigegeben
• WIN XP Pro Jp + Antivir : ditto
• Win XP Media Edition + Unitymedia Virenschutz (kastrierter FProt) : ditto. Diese Rechner ist aber nicht für Torrents gedacht, nur für wichtige Sachen

Also die Win7 Rechner genommen, Ports gelöscht in Fritzbox, neuen Port gewählt in µtorrent (fest), diesen in Fritzbox eingetragen, funktioniert

• Win 7 + Norton Antivir : läuft jetzt, aber PNP erscheint nicht in der Fritzbox, obwohl freigegeben

Ich habe Verdacht, dass Norton ist schuld, denn ich kann andere Rechner im Heimnetz ansprechen (jeweils zweite Network Card), aber nicht die Drucker, geht aber von allen anderen Rechnern und Norton hat die gesamte Steuerung von der Firewall auf sich gerissen.

Ich glaube ich muss mich in Norton einarbeiten oder ihn löschen da er immer wieder versucht mich zu zwingen mich zu registrieren und auch sonst "nervt".

Also, falls es andere interessiert als Zusammenfassung: (ist das so richtig?)
µtorrent Preferences/Connection : Port used for connections : xxxxx, kein Hacken bei randomize
Fritzbox : Internet/Freigaben : Neue Portfreigabe doppelt für TCP und UDP : Port xxxxx an $Computer an Port xxxxx
Ich habe jetzt Hacken gesetzt bei Änderungen der Sicherheitseinstellungen über UPnP gestatten gesetzt, aber dort erscheinen keine Ports. Vielleicht weil sie oben sind geöffnet.

Auf gt.net funktioniert es jetzt, also kann ich auch hier wieder versuchen.

Kannst Du bitte kurz sehen ob das so O.K. ist.

Wegen der Netzwerkdrucker : Gibt es eine Antivirensoftware der ich sagen kann, dass ein bestimmter IP-Bereich (bei mir 192.168.0.0/4) ist sicher bzw. eine Netzwerkkarte ist sicher?

Hi folks

Nach einem Umzug habe ich jetzt endlich wieder eine vernünftige Internetverbindung über Unitymedia - also über Kabel mit ein Fritz!Boy 6360 Cabel Modem. AFAIK ist dieses sonst nicht zu erhalten, darum die Frage im deutschen Forum.

Ich benutze µtorrent 1.6.1, alt, aber funktioniert und scheint nicht zu telephonieren. Ich habe unter fritz.box/Internet/Freigaben:Portfreigaben einen festen Port freigegeben für
UDP und TCP (für beide den gleichen).
Bei "Änderungen der Sicherheitseinstellungen über UPnP gestatten" habe ich keinen Häckchen gesetzt.

Anfangs µtorrent zeigt immer ein gelbes Warnzeichen, danach ein rotes (keine Verbindungen von außen). Bei gt.net scheint es zu funktionieren, hier jedoch eher nicht: Ich kann schnell herunerladen, aber ich kann kaum seeden – und das ist nicht schön.

Hat jemand eine Idee, was ich noch mus machen?

Falls diese Angaben nicht ausreichen, bitte fragen. Ich möchte endliche auch hier wieder aktiv sein.

Occasionally you want to

• get some info on a group of files
• make nice stills before uploading a new torrent.

That's what I need:

• a program that will tell you whether a certain DVD is in PAL or NTSC format
• a program that will tell you the resolution and bits per pixel for images
• a program that will tell you the resolution and used audio / video codecs of a film
• a program that will allow you to make stills of a whole film or parts thereof AND will let you choose the interval between individual shots

Of course, one program per line, not one that can do all of this.

All programs should be cli (command line interface) programs, if possible for Linux / Unix / Cygwin, so that I can, for example, do something like
find -name '*.jpg' -exec get_info {}  > filesizes ;
with get_info being the program to list pic resolution, bpp etc.

Or for screen shots something like
mk_stills -r4 -w300 -s0:30 -e1:20 i:120 someflic.avi > someflic.info
with mk_stills being the snapshot program, resulting in a contact sheet with 4 rows of pics 300 pixels wide, going from 0:30 hrs to 1:20 hrs with one pic every 2 minutes. I would also be quite content with a program that only provides a lot of subsequently numbered pictures, for I these can be concatenated / put on one page with imagemagick.

Lastly: I often see contact sheets which seem to be made with mediaplayer classic. How do I do that?

I really think giving other users the ability to add screen shots is a great ides. :cheesy2: Thanks guys. ;D Sometimes it's really hard to find enough and good covers, screen shots etc., :cry2: so every help will most certainly be appreciated by all uploaders. So:
I just tried and uploaded a few screen shots for a torrent lacking them and found two thing annoying:

• You can only upload your pics one by one and it does take tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime. tired ???

• I had prepared 16 nice pics and did upload them in reverse order so that they would end up in the right order. Unfortunately, after the 9th picture I couldn't upload any longer, so 9 (or 10 including the single one already there) seems to the the limit. Is that correct? And, if yes, why?

every now and then there is some stuff you really want but unfortunately the respective torrent has gone for beyond what could be called stale. Fortunately you can ask for a reseed. :cheesy2:

I occasionally did so - and will continue to do so of course. All requests so far were promptly met - thanks a lot folks. I really appreciate that.:thankyou:

When I request something, I first get the torrent and start it - it would be quite stupid to ask for a reseed if you don't have the torrent. Then I stay connected until I have the torrent, possibly longer if there are other leechers.
Sometimes, if the torrent is extremely slow and I get tired of greeting every bit by name or if nobody was able to help, I might ask again after a few days.

Occasionally I also get those messages saying user xxx wants yyy. If possible I try and help, but due to repeated strains of inactivity I can't always oblige. :cry2:
Before I start to seed - or better start to look for the stuff requested - however, I check if the "petitioner" has already been satisfied (in all possible meanings of the word) or if he is still waiting. I alway check if he really cares or not - read: is he connected or not. Lately I - in my opinion: way too often - I find that somebody asks for a file but takes a lot of time to finally come and get it, or he - I assume the number of possible shes here is neglectable - starts to 'suck' a few bytes and then leaves for quite some time or for good.
Sometimes the same request gets sent again after just a few hours - in some cases after just a mere hour, occasionally you get several such requests within a few hours - all for the same torrent by the same guy, of course. To be fair, this doesn't happen very often.

I personally think this (asking and not connecting or asking again after only a short period of time) is rude but I might be overly sensitive here. So folks, what do you think is the proper way of asking for a reseed.

One short second question. Sometimes you see seeders / leechers named ananymous. Who are those guys and why can they hide their identity? Reason for asking: Not knowing who they are makes it hard to ascertain that the requester got what he wanted, to possibly thank him or to inform him - if there are no other seeders - that you will seed for him but that it might take some time. (All have happened already).
