    • RE: Governor Schwarzenegger predicts Supreme Court will overturn Prop 8

      The problem with Schwarzenegger is that he lives in two worlds: the progressive Hollywood world and the Republican politician world. I think personally he probably supports gay marriage, but he's a Republican. If he wants to advance his political career (as a Republican at least) he has to oppose gay marriage or at least not actively promote it. This is why the Republican party needs to divorce itself from the social conservatives. Arnold is really a Barry Goldwater style Republican, but he has to carry water for the social conservatives in order to stay respected in Republican circles.

      Actually I don't think he supported Prop 8 (see hxxp://www.news10.net/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=50304). I seem to remember after the court decision came down allowing gay marriage, that he said he would not support or get involved with any attempts to amend the California constitution to outlaw gay marriage. I think he figured since the court made the decision he was home free: his fellow Republicans couldn't blame him for allowing gay marriage in California, but he also got to take credit among supporters of gay rights for not opposing the court decision. Prop 8 passing is probably a bit of a nightmare for him actually. A lot of angry people are going to remember his inaction and lukewarm support for the gay marriage efforts and vote accordingly next time he's up for reelection. That's why he wants the Supreme Court to overturn it.

    • RE: True Blood

      Yeah you're probably right, like I said I mostly think it could be Sam just because I don't like him, lol. It is probably someone obscure. I was actually thinking it might be the red haired waitresses husband. He's kind of strange. In that scene where he came to Sookie's defense when one of the rednecks grabbed her ass, he put his hand on her hair and said something like "you remind me of my baby sister". But it just didn't have a brotherly vibe to it, you know? Maybe it was just poor acting.  :laugh:

      Yes, I like Lafayette's character too. He's sort of flaming but he's got a cool kind of dangerous edge to him. I just hope he's not the serial killer, that would make me sad.  😢 I read the other day on TV Guide that the serial killer is "one of the good guys". I think we can eliminate a few people as the killer, especially Jason because a) the police think it might be him which means he probably isn't and b) he's too dumb to kill that many people and get away with it. I think it might be Sam. But maybe that's because I just don't like him.  :laugh:

    • RE: True Blood

      I've really been enjoying this show. It's very interesting. And may I add that not only are two of the characters gay, but that the show is obviously (in my opinion) drawing a parallel between how the vampires are perceived/treated by the southern (U.S.)/conservative/white/patriarchal society depicted in the show and how homosexuals are perceived/treated by the real southern (U.S.)/conservative/white/patriarchal society. The show was created by Alan Ball (although they are based on the books by Charlaine Harris) an openly gay man.

      Oh and how hot is Jason Stackhouse?!?! It's too bad his character is such a dumbass, lol. Every scene he's in, I don't know whether I want to smack him or fuck him.  😛

      @TwjT3NEc:

      If it was possible to include comments in the search and add a switch to include or not comments (like Torrent Name, Torrent Description and Torrent Filename are now), I can see this happening. 🙂

      Problem is: How do we know those "comments" would be more accurate?

      True. Maybe some kind of digg like vote down system so people could vote down inaccurate tags or comments and after so many vote downs the comment and/or tag is deleted?

    • Veoh wins DMCA case against gay porn producer Titan Media

      (Not sure where this belongs but this seemed like the fitting place. If not, mods can move it.)

      via Valleywag hxxp://valleywag.com/5042796/veoh-wins-dmca-case-against-gay-porn-producer-titan-media

      In a summary judgement issued today, Judge Howard Lloyd of the Northern California Federal District Court declared that online video site Veoh can not be held liable for copyright infringement in a case brought by the Io Group, an adult content producer better known as Titan Media. Users had uploaded clips of steamy man-on-man action to Veoh, including one clip which ran 40 minutes. Rather than issue takedown notices to Veoh, the Io Group sued immediately for infringement. The judge found that Veoh's policies and practices in terms of policing the site — both at the time and currently — were "reasonable." Such practices include fingerprinting video files in order to block identical copies from being uploaded in the future and disabling the accounts of repeat infringers, which the site has done 1,096 times since it's launch, according to the company. The precedent it sets could very well aid YouTube in it's defense of similar allegations brought in the suit by Viacom. After the jump, highlights from Lloyd's decision.

      When Veoh allowed adult material on the site, it was all about customer service:

      Veoh employees occasionally “spot check” videos after publication for compliance with Veoh’s policies and to ensure accuracy in the description and categorization of the content. For example, Veoh has, on occasion, edited the video description field. And, when adult content was still permitted on veoh.com, Veoh employees sometimes reviewed files to ensure proper ratings on any file containing sexually explicit material and reviewed sexually explicit files to determine whether they should be identified as “gay” or “straight” and added tags as needed.

      Lloyd also made it clear that "reasonable" steps to keeping serial infringers off the site does not have to include blocking IP addresses, since those only identify the computer, not the user:

      Here, Io has presented no evidence suggesting that tracking (or verifying) users’ actual identity or that blocking their IP addresses is a more effective reasonable means of implementation. There is no material dispute that, while IP addresses identify a particular computer connected to the Internet, they do not distinguish between users (e.g., family members) who may share the same computer.

      The plaintiffs also argued that Veoh, in transcoding video into Flash and pulling stills for thumbnail preview images, exempted it from the DMCA's safe harbor provisions. Again, the judge disagreed:

      Essentially, the issue is whether Veoh is disqualified from Section 512©’s safe harbor because of automated functions that facilitate access to user-submitted content on its website. In the context of Veoh’s business, this appears to be a matter of first impression. Based on the record presented, this court concludes that Veoh is not disqualified from Section 512(c) safe harbor on this basis.

      In the end, it's a big win for Veoh and for other online video sites — users can upload all the copyrighted ass-fucking they want, but as long as they follow standard DMCA procedure, they can rest assured that they won't be held liable.

      Not sure how or if this could be implemented, but maybe the ability for users to "tag" torrents. Because I notice sometimes that the descriptions might not be complete or accurate. I saw a torrent today and there was only the name of one actor listed in the description, but the movie actually has several other well-known stars in it. So if someone searched for one of those names that torrent wouldn't come up even though they are in it. If users could tag the torrents, they could add the names of actors that the uploader omitted, and you could add a check box to search user tags in the torrent search. Just an idea.  🙂

      cumeaternc edit: The report function for each torrent can do that already.  Simply "report" the torrent along with the updated information.  At that point a mod can add the information to the torrent for you.

    • RE: THANK YOU GAYTORRENT.RU!!!! ;)

      @juancho:

      but even in cases where women admits liking porn, there only seem to be a very little fraction of straight women admitting to like watching gay porn.

      This I concede, however it is more popular than you might think. I read somewhere that in Germany for example, gay male porn is very popular with women, so much so, that they commonly get together to watch it. Don't know if this is actually true, lol, though it wouldn't surprise me since I think that many places in Europe are much more socially/sexually liberal than the United States (where I'm from).

      females are by nature bisexual. it has something to do with being very expressive, accepting, in-touch with her feelings and not restrained by societal norms to hide them (as opposed to men being afraid to show these said emotions in public for fear of being labeled gay or weak), and the whole psychological aspect of growing up as a female. i believe there's a part of the kinsey report that explains this.

      bisexual in this context does not exclusively mean (only) the sexual intercourse aspect. we are also talking about feelings, acceptance, psychological aspect, etc.

      I think the Kinsey report comes to the conclusion that for the most part everybody is somewhat bisexual, not just females. But I would probably agree with you that women are probably more open to that than men. But again I think that has a lot to do with social conditioning. It seems like men have a lot more fallout and consequences if they decide they are bisexual or gay than women. Everything from being seen as a potential pedophile (nobody ever seems to think that a lesbian might be a pedophile) to being told they are not real men, etc. etc.

      in fact, by definition, the best sexual experience (sexual intercourse) (according to studies) happens between a female and another female.

      they postulated that the act of sexual intercourse is basically just the use of our tools and its manipulation. which means, if you both have the same tools, you already know how it works and use already proven techniques to make it work. male and female homosexuals have this advantage but females, unlike males, have a very wonderful sexual response cycle in which, when properly stimulated, can give them multiple orgasms (as opposed to males who must deal with the plateau phase after ejaculation). plus, since females are generally caring, gentle, accepting, warm, verbally expressive, etc. then these qualities will enhance the sexual experience.

      heterosex is far from that since they both have different equipments and they don't really know how it works, or what technique works best or how it exactly feels when those tools were being manipulated. they're just basically trying to enjoy themselves while hoping for the best that whatever it is they're doing is also making their partner happy or at least satisfied.

      That's an interesting theory. Kind of depressing for a straight girl to hear, but interesting nonetheless, lol.  :laugh:

    • RE: THANK YOU GAYTORRENT.RU!!!! ;)

      @geekguy:

      I don't think it that weird that katyggls likes gay porn, just like it's not weird for straight guys to like porn with lesbian action (very feminine, like juancho says).

      Thanks for not thinking I'm weird, geekguy. ;D I admit that juancho's post kind of came off like he thought that it was weird so my back got up a little. He probably didn't intend that though, I'm just defensive about the issue.

      The weirdness that got people going is; why would a LESBIAN want to watch gay porn, or a gay guy watch lesbian porn? That makes no sense to me.  Juancho, you got anything that explains that?!  (Not a dis, I find your previous arguments very compelling)

      Like I said before, this is even a tiny bit puzzling to me. I guess we'll never know from tamoachan's pov, since it appears she won't be returning to the thread  😢 , but my theory is that she is a lesbian like she said, but at least some small part of her must get turned on by guys. So maybe she's mostly a lesbian but a little bit bi too? I kind of hate saying that, because who the hell am I to define someone else's sexuality, but it's just my opinion. Not that it matters, lol.
